So - I read the hit or miss review and I will say my first and only experience with this restaurant was a "miss". We had a late night last night because we had our wedding ceremony and reception so we wanted to order something that could be delivered. We have been so busy lately that its been hard to make meals at home so we are pretty sick of most places that deliver. I found Talaynas online an saw that they deliver. We ordered and got our food much later. The delivery driver was quite nice. However - our food order was wrong. This happens to us almost every time we get a delivery and I am sick of it!! My husband ordered cheese fries for our 2 year old (she is extraordinarily picky) and instead we received cheese sticks - which she will not eat. Plus they looked super burnt anyway. I looked at the order slip and the person who took the order wrote down that we wanted mozzarella sticks so either they werent listening to my husband when he ordered or they just wrote down the wrong thing by mistake. There was also a price difference of a couple of dollars in their favor. i called them to discuss the situation. I was a little irritated and the person I spoke with was so incredibly rude - we will never ever be ordering delivery carry out or going to this Talaynas. First he said that he would give us a credit or the next time we ordered (which would be ok if this wasnt the first we ordered from them). Then when I said I just wanted a credit back on my credit card for the sticks the rude man said that in order to refund the mozzarella sticks they would have to send the delivery driver back to our house to pick them up. I told them to please send my fries then if they were sending someone back out. So they agreed - but really what will they do with those burnt stick? Give them to someone else? Gross! I have never dealt with such poor customer service! No matter how great the food was - the experience ticked me off enough to type this!

Great Pizza. Fantastic (and filling) salads and pasta. If you want a good Chicago style pizza, this is the place to go. IT IS AMAZINGLY GOOD FOOD. HOWEVER.....the service is very poor, and has been for as many years as I have gone there. Ive been eating pizza from Talaynas on Main Street since 2002 (if I recall correctly), and never have I gotten good service. The waitresses (new ones almost every time I go) are sloppy, forgetful, slow, and they have no organization of tables or sense of purpose. It seems that management is either clueless how to change this or just doesnt care. A little structure and training might go a long way here. The restaurant itself could use some decor improvement, as it always seems drab and dirty. Okay, now that Ive covered the negatives...lets focus on the positive: It may take an eternity to get your order in, flag down the waitress, etc... and the food is never out quick. BUT when your pizza finally arrives, its pretty much worth it. Mouth watering topping, rich melty cheese, great crust, and an amazing sauce keep me coming back time and again. It is a testament to how delicious their pizza really is that I continue to eat at Talaynas. Dont expect good service or a fast turnaround, have plenty of time, and youll get a great pizza.

We ordered a pizza for delivery this evening. The guy on the phone was apparently "new". He asked three separate times what we ordered. It was a pizza, half pepperoni, half meat. The pizza came 45 minutes later and the entire pizza was meat. We called back and they offered to either bring us another or give us half off our next pizza. We opted to get the correct pizza brought. The girl then told us that was fine, they would send a new one right over, but they would need the old pizza back. It took much longer to get the second pizza then it did to get the first one and they did not offer anything to make up for the horrible service or the mistake. More than two hours later, finally the right pizza. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!

Delivery takes an HOUR or more! But is worth the wait to me. They have the best Pasta Con Broccoli in town. Their house salad dressing is also the best ever. Their drawbacks are their St. Charles location has been falling apart at the seams for a LONG time. The waitress get worse and worse, inside the place is falling apart and dirty. When you call they are not as professional as they used to be. I still eat here because I can SMOKE! One of the only reasons I ever bring my friends to eat in, otherwise I deliver and take my chances on waiting the hour it takes to get here. Management should definitely read this review and take it to heart that some things need to change or they may go out of business.

FILTHY DISGUSTING PLACE. THE OWNERS TRACY AND STACY ARE IGNORANT AND CALL THEIR EMPLOYEES RETARDS. SICKENING PEOPLE WHO DONT KNOW HOW TO RESPECT ANYONE. THEIR SMALL CHILDREN ARE IN THE KITCHEN AND THEY MAKE THEIR EMPLOYEES BABYSIT THEM. IN THE KITCHEN THEYRE PUTTING THEIR FILTHY DIRTY HANDS IN THE FOOD AND IT YOU FILL THE SALAD BOWL THEY PUT THEIR HANDS IN IT WITHOUT GLOVES AND TAKE A BUNCH OUT. YOU CAN HEAR THEM YELLING AND SCREAMING AT THEIR EMOLOYEES FROM THE RESTAURANT. DO NOT GO HERE THESE PEOPLE ARE FILTHY ANIMALS AND THE HEALTH DEPARTMENT NEEDS TO BE INFORMED. DISGUST IS THE BEST WAY TO DESCRIBE THIS PLACE AND THESE PEOPLE!!!!!!!

When I order the walnut and gorgonzola cheese salad, which Ive had several times before, I wouldnt think Id have to search before finally finding 3 small, lonely pieces of cheese hidden between this mound of greenery. Especially not on a $9 salad. Weve noticed the quality and service here has declined dramatically recently. Service was slow, despite the fact that there was only about 6 tables occupied on our side of the restaurant. They werent busy enough to justify the lax service, although in their defense, there was a "help wanted" sign in the window. That should have been our first clue.....

Was very impressed with Talaynas the first time i went a couple years ago and they havent let me down every time since then. Its always a bit of a wait and maybe not top notch service but its well worth inconvenience of both, I look at it as more time to spend on our wonderful main street. Besides the pizza, try their side salad which has many ingredients on it and I love their house dressing. Also the pasta is an extraordinarily filling plate for next to nothing. I always have left overs and leave stuffed.

Last two times Ive gone here the food has been great, but the service and overall cleanliness has been awful. Both times we had about 4 people, and no joke it took over 2.5 hours to get to our main course with only a couple of other tables eating there. No drink refills, tables cluttered with empty plates from tables that left hours ago, sticky carpet floors, dim flickering lights, and tables that are falling apart and randomly matched together. I wish this place would get their act together.
