We were in town on business and when we asked a few locals about BBQ, they raved about a few places, yet this was closer for us so we decided to give it a try. I must first tell you that we are from Texas. As you may know, BBQ on almost every corner. Pros: First, may I say, the staff is awesome! Those guys behind the counter need a raise:) Very kind people here! We tried 4 bones and 1 side (root beer baked beans) Hubby had a full slab, scalloped potatoes and tator tot cheesy something. Lots of cool sauces to try. Easy line and easy seating with lots of paper towel. Nice BBQ facility and kept clean. Cons: Ribs need to fall off the bone. Bark on outside needs to have a bite and be thick while tasting smoke and seeing a deep pink meat. Wrapping in saran wrap makes it soggy, not firm while holding on the line. Leave them alone, ventilate or wrap in perforated foil. Ribs were not very tender. As a lady, we like them to just fall off the bone so we could eat with a fork, if we chose to, although I dont. Sides: just something to have on the side. No raves here but when hungry, they will do. We love our baked beans with brisket debri and a sweet sauce with tons of flavor. Pie: We both had the crack pie. It was good. No high marks, just good. All in all, a good place to eat but we will be trying others while here in town. Thanks for the hospitality and good food! It was certainly appreciated and a fun atmosphere! We love your beautiful city and the kindess of strangers! Coco East Texas

We all know sugar fire is amazing! But I honestly do not recommend this location to anyone. We order here at least 2-3 times a month at work and its always at least a $60-$80 order. Every single time we are always missing something from our order so after the 4th time of my order being messed up or something being missing (today it was creamed corn) I finally called and talked to Carla and told her how every time we order we are always missing something. She got major attitude with me telling me repeatedly to check the bag. I kept telling her the bag was completely empty and I did check. Then she cut me off and told me she wasnt trying to be rude but all we were missing was corn? Its obviously not about the corn its the principle and its honestly become a joke in the office on what they will forget this time. She ended up saying she was sending us a gift card to reimburse us for the corn? Really? Lol a $4 gift card? No apology or anything and she was being smart when she said that. I felt as if she was insinuating that I was lying about it. I promise if I spend $60 on BBQ Im not going to be hurting for a $4 gift card. Today will be the last time we order from sugar fire from the St. Charles location for lunch. Get your attitude checked Carla or dont work in customer service. This location needs a better system for the togo orders to ensure all orders are correct and nicer hostess.

I, and 3 other Vietnam Vets were the first diners at lunch today. Entering the front door we were slammed witujh the aroma of BBQ heaven. All of us ordered the rack of ribs with assorted sides. I got the whipped sweetpotatos and a portion of Jambalaya. Sweet potatoes/marshmallows were best EVER, then the surprise of the day, the Jambalaya. SLAM/BAM/WOW. As a past food judge at Canjun festivals in New Orleans, I was instantly transported back there with my first bite. This was in the style of Emeril Lagasse, the famed N. O. Chef. Turns out some of Sugar Fires kitchen staff trained under him.Imagine that. Again, perfectly authentic Jambalaya. The ribs were also prize worthy. A wonderful smoky taste that never over powered the "piggy" flavour of the meat. A wide assortment of excellent sauces are on the tables, but arent needed. The Ribs stand tall on their own. Cant close without huge complements to Katy, cashier and wait staffer. She adopted our little foursome, insuring 5 Star service and a 10 Star experience. This establishment also offers a military discount. Final advice. Go often, and ALWAYS take some Jambalaya home with you. YUMMY!!!

I ordered a carryout plate of pulled pork and two side dishes of hashbrown casserole and the baked beans late Saturday night, August 30, 2014. Both side dishes were a sticky, starchy mess, as if they had been setting there for hours...and the hashbrown casserole was also loaded with black pepper. Both dishes were inedible, and after choking down a few bites, I threw them both in the trash and called the manager on duty around 9:30 the same night and told her the dishes were terrible. She said she had eaten the hashbrown casserole earlier and did not like it either. She asked my name and told me she had written it down and to be sure and ask for two free side dishes on my next trip there. I did eat part of the pulled pork which wasnt great, but tasted okay, but later wished I had not eaten it either. I woke up around 2:30 that same night with my stomach hurting and feeling very nauseous. This will be my last trip to Sugarfire!

Just as awesome as the original location! I got my usual Meat Daddy and it didnt disappoint!! The service was friendly and the line moved fast. If youve never been here, you honestly cant wrong with just about anything you order. If you want a taste of everything, definitely go for the Meat Daddy. It gets you ribs, pulled pork, sausage, turkey, brisket and two sides. Their sides change daily and are always awesome. But dont be afraid to get something basic like their fries, because they do them pretty well! But if you prefer just a sandwich and side, go with one of their specials of the day because they are usually off-the-wall inventive and truly amazing!

As a non-reviewer of almost all experiences, I had to take the time to show this place as much love as possible. It appears like a normal smoked meat house but I found smoked salmon on the menu and couldnt go another way. Smoked just past rare to flaky perfection w a flavor that you wouldnt normally associate with smoked salmon, I am nothing short of mezmorized, and in post meal euphoria. My only regret is eating delicious sides, which prevent me from getting another salmon sandwich. But dont mistake my comment the baked beans are amazing and the cornbread is perfection. Its no surprise this place was on Food Network.

We usually do not have any problems when we call in our carry out orders. Today I called multiple times and the line was busy for ten minutes. After I finally got connected I was put on hold and I waited a few minutes and the call was disconnected. I called again and I was put on hold for another five minutes. When I was able to place my orders all I could hear was the employees yelling in the background. We arrived to pick up our food and they didnt have our order because it was placed under a different name. I get the food back to work and I pass out the orders we didnt have all of our sides or sauces. Disappointed.

Hands down my favorite BBQ in the STL area. I cant get over how good the burgers are, its their own special beef blend and its worth it. I always have such a hard time deciding between the pulled pork sandwich or burger with SMOKED BALSAMIC onions and some of the best bacon ever, or the brisket and ribs. Their fries are so good and the home made sauces need to be tried. I got pretty excited to see their original sold in stores. The atmosphere is super funky and cool and something new to see when you go in. Follow them on FB for the daily specials photos that will make you physically drool.
