We brought our family of six to dine on Sunday after church. It was quite packed, but they seated us within 15 minutes as promised. It wasnt our first time here, but I was suprised to notice the handwritten message on the chalkboard, " This is an all you can eat buffet, not all you can waste. Any wasted food will be charged extra." I understand the frustration of people wasting food, but you seriously need a sign threatening people? Not necessary! The food was delicious and our waiter managed to get everyone a refill, except me. The disappointment truly came in when I realized that the waffle station available from 11am-3pm (as advertised on the website) did not exist. Also advertised was either bread pudding or banana pudding, which we never saw any of. The cake slices looked like they were cut for a two year old, very tiny but delicious none the less. Also, since you pay before you are seated it would be nice to be informed if they ran out of certain foods. You want to threaten folks not to waste food, but cant keep up with all of your customers. If I could offer some feedback to the owners, this is what Id say: You have an amazing thing going here, but it could be much better! As much business as you get, there should be twice as many food tables. Its okay to slice the cake modestly, but give people what they pay for! The quality of the tables and chairs was poor, tarnished and unsturdy. Respectfully, you could stand a furniture upgrade! Lastly, if you are not going to offer all of the food items you advertise, then tell folks up front when they are paying. That would only be courteous! One last thing, more than one bathroom would be nice, but obviously is not an option! Placing a can of air freshener in there would be wonderful! Waiting 8 minutes to empty your bladder while an overstuffed customer blows up the whole spot is pretty disgusting!

This is soul food at its finest. It is on the pricey side, so if youre looking for a cheap all you can eat gorging feast this isnt the place for you. The buffet offers a salad bar, a line of entrees and a line of sides. The entrees can include fried chicken, baked chicken, baked fish, fried catfish, roast beef, spaghetti with meat sauce, and I have even seen meatloaf. They usually have 4-5 entree choices with fried chicken a constant. Their fried chicken is seriously some of the best I have ever had. If you arent a fan, it prolly means youre more in love with KFC than some really great homemade fried chicken. The sides/desserts usually include cheese and mac, corn bread, Collars greens, cabbage, corn, mashed potatoes, dinner rolls, bread pudding, and a large dish of peach cobbler. The cheese and mac is heavy and delightful. It is heavy on the grease, but that could just be from the huge amount of cheese. As I remarked to a friend upon my first visit "holy #$%& even the corn is seasoned!" The greens are tasty and just the right amount of bitter, the bread pudding is amazing, and even the peach cobbler, which I normally dislike, is tasty. The cobbler is a bit on the runny side, but the flavor is amazing. Go for the fried chicken and catfish. Some of the best I have had in KC. They are constantly refilling, so even if the buffet looks low, another batch will come along shortly. As I stated earlier, it is on the pricey side of a buffet, but its quality far surpasses the average buffet. This is no Old Country Buffet, Hometown Buffet, or your average 100 station Chinese gluttony stop. Its sit down level tasty food, for a sit down price, with the bonus of filling your stomach till.it explodes in ecstasy.

I was first told this place was a buffet and that it would cost $10. When I get there, the cost is at least $12.95 for what I want and was not unlimited all-you-can-eat, but rather a 3 meat plate w/ sides etc.). I get the 2-meat plate instead. They gave me 2 measly pieces of fried chicken that were little itty bitty wings (2-bites only for each) and a baked chicken breast that was smaller than average. Now, Im a skinny man, But Ive got a metabolism & an appetite that was not satisfied here. The sides were real good; mac n cheese and mashed potatoes n gravy. My suggestion: Make sure every piece of meat/entrée that you serve in your trays are big, full pieces - No small steaks that make for unhappy customers. No joke: When I exited Peach Tree after eating, I then smelled Gates BBQ nearby and said to myself "Im still hungry, and Id really like some BBQ." That should never happen! You know those sh**ty experiences we all have at Chipotle when the line workers dont put the full amount that you want inside your expensive burrito and then your stuck paying for over-priced food that you dont all entirely want? Thats my & several other peoples experience here. Ill go to a real American or Chinese buffet, eat what I want (may be of lesser quality) but pay the-same-or-less price and leave satisfied.

My sister & her husband took my younger sister to Peachtree Restaurant. Now from what I remember Peachtree off Eastwood traffic way used to be amazing. The service was great the food was fresh, delicious and home cooked. This was years ago. Now rewind to today. Visit date was 2/21/2016. I deeply regret to say this was one of the nastiest buffet restaurant experiences ever! The food was nasty and taste like it was prepared from box and cans! Greens were crunchy with sand grit and the Mac & cheese was orange and watered down! Service was horrible. When asked for drink refills we were told by our waiter he was headed to break!!! Wow!!! SUPER UNPROFESSIONAL! People who were there for carry out orders or to go orders were hovering around the buffet making it impossible for dine in guest to even have access to the buffet. I will NEVER return to this restaurant. I have been a KC native my whole life and love supporting black owned businesses... NOT THIS ONE!! My money will be well spent elsewhere. Hate to not have anything nice to say. It was an overall terrible experience. PSA...in addition they have a SIGN that reads as follows..." Any wasted food will be charged extra". LOL.

So, I wanted some good food today to close out my week, and went to Peach Tree on 12th St. Ordered my food and was preparing to pay, when I asked the young lady to exchange my roll for a corn muffin. She said "ok, no problem". The lady at the registered interjected stating she couldnt put the roll back, "thats why we ask in advance, what would you prefer, bc its a health code violation." She also in turn was rude to the young lady asking to confirm whether she should take the roll or just add a corn muffin. The register Lady said, "You can buy an extra muffin". WTH? I, politely put my wallet back in my purse and said, "Thank You". I left the dinner, roll and muffin right there. Unfortunately, the penny pinching, nickel and dimming some establishments do, is ridiculous. To encourage people to return, you would think they would do better. Obviously thats asking too much. Now, I have to go to a commercial establishment to get something else! Oh, and since they dont respect my business, I will NOT be back!!
