The food was pretty good, but both my family and I left with bad tastes in our mouths because of the service. Im sorry for the length of this review, but a lot happened. It was my family and I first time here at this buffet. We were only there for almost 30 mins when the waitress brought us our bill while we were still eating. I thought it was a premature and rude. I didnt want to be a pain, so we paid without any problem. The waitress told us that we didnt leave a tip on the receipt. I was dumbfounded, but we politely explained that we always leave a cash tip on the table when we are finished eating. However, she stood there until we gave her a tip. So we gave her a good tip, and continued eating. A couple of minutes later, she came back asking if she could take plates that we were still eating off of. We politely told her yes (or no), and she continued to come back every 2 mins for the next 6 mins. She collected one of the final plates, as I was still eating off of as she came over, but I didnt say anything, until she started taking drinks and silverware with her. At which time I still politely explained that not all of us were done eating. So she stopped and looked at me, and then told us she was moving us to another table. At this point I was extremely frustrated because we werent going to be there for very much longer, we were almost done; but some of us didnt get to enjoy our food because we got tied up taking care of the bill, and tip, etc; I got even more frustrated when I realized that the table she wanted to move us to was a table for four. Still being polite I explained that since there are six of us, we wouldnt fit at that table. She walked off without another word, but another lady came to our table almost demanding that we move tables if we werent done eating. At this point I am livid, but I calmly explained that some of us still wanted to eat a bit, and that since the other table wasnt big enough for all of us, we would not switch tables. She stormed off and loudly said something in another language, which was embarrassing because I kept my voice down the entire time to avoid causing a scene for them. Other familes around our table started stating their anger at how we were being treated. We were being treated like we were being messy, or loud, or rude, or like we were eating slowly, or being demanding, or left a bad tip, none of which were the case. I work in customer service, and I would NEVER treat anyone like we were treated even if they did behave unkindly. I was so embarrassed and angry at that point I lost the rest of my appetite and just wanted to leave, so we did. I never write reviews, because customer service is a tough business and Ive had bad service before, but never like this. The food is pretty good, but not worth it. Now we wish we would have listened to the reviews that were already here. You couldnt pay me to eat here again, because I will never go back.

Theyve got a lot of choices out there but the crab legs taste like imitation waterlogged crab. All the chicken in here was frozen and bought prepared. Cut the chicken, youll see what I mean, and it faintly gives me the same feeling that I had with the crab - fake and from a bag. I was here with my family and we all had the same impression and I do understand its a lot of food to cook but seriously? And our waitress gave me the feeling we were like pigs to ne picked up after. I felt sick from all the grease and anyone who thinks this is good food might also consider McDonalds somewhere that cooks your meal to order. I could order enough Chinese take out from anywhere and had a buffett at home. And Ive seen some good reviews about best in OP? Absolutely not, go look around there are better places who need the business and are willing to cater to the business you bring, many of these restaurants have the nicest people and make you feel like family. Besides that, the quality of the food and the piggish environment, food was all over the floor and tables, waiters/waitresses had little to no involvement in ANYTHING besides getting you a drink and taking away plate mounds to clear space. Guys. Im so serious, find a nice restaurant, you will not eat enough food to make this $&!* worth it. Also with this norovirus outbreak right now and its implications to another OP restaurant from bad food prep, I would not be surprised if you leave this place sick, do not bring your kids here. A 10 and 11 year old even noticed how bad it was, the created environment, and the chance someone will get very sick, ps to the guy in the comments who likes their sashimi, I think we saw two completely different things because I love sashimi too but that was vile. I did come in on a Sunday and the wait was pretty long but never again. All the places in this half of the shopping center havent stayed for more than 5-7 years and I dont expect them to either.

i tried this place a week after the liberty one, it was better in some ways. I went on the weekend for the all you can eat crab with a friend. like liberty most of the food was amazing. we got here at around 4:20pm not a big crowd yet, first thing i got was a cluster of crab legs and i think they were over cooked too. the meat was really flaky and wouldnt come out in a whole chunk like the ones i normally get at the casino. again, too much trouble to scrape all the stuck meat off the inside of the shell after opening each part of the leg completely instead of cracking it in half and pulling the meat out. even the meat on the body side was a pain to remove. I never got a 2nd cluster like i did in liberty where they redeemed themselves somewhat. i did try the blue crab and that was just as bad if not worse. the sushi however here was plentiful and amazing, thumbs up to the sushi chef. prolly the best for an all you can eat place in the metro. i was upset that after spending alot more time here than liberty he had almost no tips. dont forget to tip your sushi and hibachi guys people. the selection here seemed better than the liberty location but the drink service also sucked after about 45 min. so yeah my biggest complaint for both joy wok locations is how they cook their snow crab. If you need a fork and knife to eat crab legs something is wrong.

Ive been here a number of times, and one thing that stops me from rating this at max is the inconsistency. During peak lunch times (from like 11-1:30), the food is brought out piping hot and keeps on coming. Ive enjoyed all of their soups and their choices range in selection from some traditional American Chinese to some dishes that Ive never come across before (Im new to the Midwest and I believe these to be Midwest-influenced dishes). However, I was not put off by some of the missing items. Crab Rangoon for example, is not of Chinese origin, so I actually give Joy Wok a thumbs up for not putting that on the buffed, but I do wish they had the choice of it on a menu itself. During off peak hours, the service certainly does become slower, but Ive never had a problem with a waiter continually trying to fill my glass. My recommendation is to go either before peak dinner hours or just after peak lunch hours, and youll get the best of the restaurants ability. During the peak, the place is literally filled to the gills, and can often take time to get a seat from the hosting staff. Overall, I enjoy coming here, especially for business lunches that need to be quick and inexpensive. I would recommend it to my family without hesitation. By far the best buffet Ive found in the year Ive been here.
