My husband and I were lured in by the reviews of people saying that ES offers the best tex-mex around or ever. I dont believe these people have ever had real tex-mex or real Mexican food for that matter. Come to find out the place was founded by Italians not Mexicans, and there are no Mexican working there. The food was greasy, the salsa runny, service okay, and there was smoke everywhere and the choice for cheese was PARMESAN or Longhorn. WTF? Parmesan on Mexican food? I should have walked out right then. Now I am okay with greasy food, but i am not okay with food that haunts a person for hours later. I continuously burped up the most horrible taste from my taco salad thing I ate. It got so bad that after about 12 hours, and not being able to sleep due to this nasty little problem, that I decided to take the bulimic approach (not something I do, I hate throwing up). It was amazing and scary what was left undigested after 12 hours! Needless to say, the bulimia only helped the problem a little. I will not put my body through that again and wouldnt recommend that you do either. One would be better off going to Taco Bell. No joke.

Ive been eating here for...well my entire existence. Im sure one would say that real mexican food can be found (at least one in every town) if you consider the "white runny cheese" to be a real mexican place. the majority of those places came up from North Carolina and then spread like wild fire across the states. the meat is at least seasoned and the mild salsa is always crisp and refreshing here. you can get your food topped with any cheese sauce you like yes white queso is an option! a few down sides (like any other place) 2nd etc refills on chips and salsa costs extra, the chips can be a little greasy sometimes when pulled right out fresh and needs a little updating (booths and chairs.) if you dont like this kind of mexican....there always is a taco bell open late for you! proud to support a small local business like this one that has been around for years!

Ordered food, got the wrong order, told server, she stated she thought so when she set it down. Blamed coworker for mixup and instead of offering no charge for the error, brought out additional food (which also was wrong), then overcharged the ticket. Spoke to guy in charge, (or said was in charge, same guy the server blamed for the mixup), took $2 off. Called back later and explained where the overcharge was, from the online menu, and was told they would credit the overcharged item on my next visit. As If! There are 12 Mexican Restaurants w/I 5 miles of Claycomo, this experience slammed the door on this establishment. Overall I felt like I got scammed! Only reason 1 star because it wouldnt let me give 0 stars!

If you see this place, keep on driving. Absolutely terrible. I dont know where to begin. The tables and floors are dirty. Menus are dirty and look as if they havent been wiped in weeks. Food is terrible. Your better off stopping at the the macalusos grocery store next door and buying frozen Mexican. Lastly the margaritas are a joke. 6.50 for a 6ounce glass of orange juice. They pre-make the Margs and freeze them in back then thaw to order. Please try Los corrals, margaritas or rancho grande. This place is a dive.

Ive been going to this restaurant for over 30 years. It is the best Mexican food I can find to eat. The people that run the place and the waitresses everyone is wonderful. Ive even had in the old days people request tamales and Mexican chili and I would buy some bulk tamales and chili pack it in dry ice and overnight it to Hawaii Florida Arkansas North Carolina and last of all we would take it with this on camping trips and steam tamales and warm up Mexican chili and have our dinner at a campfire cant beat it!

This place is the most awful Mexican restaurant i have ever tried. which is sad because it used to be alright. THE FOOD WAS TERRIBLE. Who wants to pay for a refill on chips. The waitresses looked like they were on crack. if you do decide to go to this disgusting place Do NOT get the combos the enchiladas have no meat whatsoever. i managed to get a peek in the kitchen it was so dirty i might as well ate my food off the floor i would give it no stars if i could. will never come back!

Worst place I have ever taken my family to eat. They over charged me, food was bland, margarita was nasty and get this.... Our server got in a fight with the cook right behind our table, threw a full plate of food at him and walked out, leaving us without a server! Place was a joke and I dont ever plan to go back (even if a friend offered to meet me there and buy)...... Dont bother stopping in here to eat, you will be disappointed !!

I have eaten here since I was a kid and only once did they change things for the worse. Hopefully that wont happen again. The only complaints I have are the tacos having NO flavor and the prices are getting to a ridiculous amount. They just might get their business back like it was if the prices came down to reality. If they dont lower their prices , I think they are pricing themselves out of business and that would be a shame ...

Very tasty for what it is... and that is fatty, unhealthy, cheesy, saucy goodness. If you are some kind of snob from one of the coasts who is only concerned with authentic cuisine or have a weak stomach that apparently has not developed enough to eat a great tasting meal then go elsewhere! If you like friendly people, a corona or two, strong margaritas, awesome hot sauce, and most of all delicious unhealthy food, then bon apetit!

This restaurant is under staffed... The poor server is all by herself every time I come in... You can tell she is very overwhelmed.... When she talks to the kitchen staff they scream at her and say NO as loud as they can were everyone in the restaurant can hear it.. Very unprofessional. This restaurant needs serious help. Im very sad and disappointed that such a great restaurant is somewhere Ill never go back.

We are new to town, some folks had mentioned it, it hasnt been updated since 1980s, concerned me about the cleanliness of the place, the food was not Mexican it was something grandma would pretend was Mexican and melt some cheese on top. Out dated, service was odd ( I dont know other way to describe it. ) The clientele seemed to be folks from the neighborhood who go every week, new comers watch out :)

I go on Tuesdays and or Wednesdays. They always have good specials though everyday. I have been going here since little kid. I will continue too. If you like bean dip, you have to try theirs. Its close to my home so I do alot of carry out on my way home from work. They always have my food right and everything I need for my dinner. Which is more than I can say for places with drive-thrus.

ordered carry out fpr my first dining experience. Food was a little over priced for what you receive. I ordered chicken enchiladas that were okay if you want a step above taco bell. Little to no sauce, cheese was melted but the food was already cold by the time I got there. spent 10 minutes in route so these were definitely just in a warmer. will not eat here again.
