Well, the food is really good and its a really fun place, but theres a few reasons I dislike Vallartas. First of all, the manager, Jorge used to call our house phone every week asking my family to come back in (he did this to a lot of our family friends too). Second, with big groups, the receipts were not itemized. There was just a grand total that nobody bothers to double check since most people had been drinking. One night we did check, and the total was 15$ more than it should have been, even with tax. Lastly, when I ordered cheesedip to-go, the lady was very rude to me and charged me 5 dollars. No tax, not rung up, no receipt. On the menu, cheese dip is only like 3.50, or something...

Just goes to show how poor customer service can ruin a good thing. Like the food, but made the mistake of leaving our "doggie bag" on the table...we got to the car, realized wed left it and returned, just a couple minutes. But it was already gone, and thrown away. A waiter said hed "get us a couple" of the burritos, a nice offer since I didnt even ask...then, after a few minutes, the manager piped in, "Hey, amigo", he says to me, condescendingly, " We arent responsible for items left on the table". Well, I didnt ask for a replacement, you guys volunteered. Enough said, "Amigo", we wont ever be back. Certainly ruined a good thing.

Out in west.. you know, weve been looking for replacements for all our city favorites. Vallarta is the first restaurant in this area where we finally felt like this could be one of "our restaurants". Its what you would expect for a strip mall Mexican restaurant as far as decor and service, but the food was fantastic. The margaritas were very good, and the prices really cant be beat. We talk about going back often, and do quite a bit, which is a first out west here. Also want to add that their complimentary salsa is quite good. Which really set the tone for our visit.

The service was absolutely horrible. We had a large party and waited for 45 mins. for drinks, and the waitress never took our order. We left due to our waitress disappearing and never coming back to check on us. As we are leaving she all of sudden appears with our drinks. We left $35 on the table which was more than enough for chips and salsa. I would not recommend this place unless you are dining for two. I usually dont due reviews due to the business I am in, and find some unfair, but this is the second time this has happened.

The food at Vallartas are the best Ive seen for a long time. There taco salads are a lot different from the pack. First, they have good Ingredients. Then, they have a very good chef. This creates the best, and most tastiest taco salad ever. There staff are OK. There decor is painted in Mexican Culture style. This is a FAR cry from your average mexican restaurant.

I love Vallartas! My husband and I used to go there weekly...and still go every chance we get!!! I food is great...even my Honduran husband LOVES the food here! Jorge and his staff are GREAT...and Jorge is definitely still there! Always able to make you smile! PS - Get the top-shelf margarita! I am actually CRAVING it right now! YUM!

Jorge Flores, Vallartas long-time manager, has left the restaurant and it seems to me the quality of food and service, the ambience, and lively atmosphere that were hallmarks of this neighborhood restaurant have suffered substantially. The owners need to entice Jorge back and restore the balance.

Great family atmosphere. Dollar tacos on Mondays, kids eat free on Tuesdays. Owners are awesome, food is very good, prices cant be beat in west county. And the margarita specials may not be the best in west county, but theyre damn good for rock bottom prices. Were rapidly becoming regulars.

When ordering from the restaurant, be sure to always dine in. My family and I ordered out very recently to receive something that was entirely different from our order. Not the right portions. Not the right meal. Incredibly disappointing for a family who usually loves to eat at Vallarta.

I have lived in Arizona and know about Mexican food ..... good and bad, Vallartas is GREAT!!! The Salsa is made in-house, is very flavorful and the heat is there but subtle as is the guacamole .... very flavorful and fresh. Im a pig and couldnt finish my burrito .... youll get fed.

It is the best mexican restaurant in the St.Louis area .OMG try the valllarta quessadia, if you like shrimp. If you like hot ask for the hot sauce. The Poblano peppers with the hot sauce ( you have to ask for the hot sauce), is fabulous. You better like heat. Its delious!

Great food with even better employees. My go to is the tacos al pastor that are very tasty. If you like soup then the caldo de pollo good. Salsa is better than most places. I have been going here for 15 plus years and look forward to future visits. Also very clean.

My best friend introduced me to Vallartas. We just moved to the Ballwin from Creve Coeur and looking for a great Mexican restaurant! The atmosphere is relaxed, the staff is excellent and the food is the best! Not to mention the best Margaritas Ive had!

Excellent tex-mex food in an unlikely spot. I love their mushroom quesadilla but couldnt explain why. Service is quick and friendly. The fish tacos are tasty but theyre also huge. The seafood fajita nachos are bloody amazing.

Were from Texas so very used to Tex-Mex style of food. Vallarta fits the bill! When you order Margaritas there, make sure you order the Texas Margaritas. Theyre tastier, stronger and tell them Kristi sent you!

Waitress had too many tables it was a while before she got to us then a while before she got back to us. The food is good and it came out very fast. Prices are low for the quality of the food.

Great food! Decent prices! One thing to keep in mind is that if you really want a Chile Relleno, it is called a Chile poblano here. And they are good! Just like everything else on the menu!

Tacos are hard shell and the chicken inside is cold. Meat are salty. It is not a good place to spend Sunday morning ;((
