Im only giving this one star because I have to give it something to write this review. A party of 5 (including me) had a reservation here last night at 6:45 for my best friends bachelorette party. At this time, the restaurant seemed full, but not overly busy by any means and our server had about 3 tables, including ours. I dont remember her name but she had really short dark hair and glasses, younger. So at first, two of the girls in our party ordered frozen peach margaritas. One looked like dirty swamp water with about 2 inches of foam sitting on top and the other girls "frozen" drink was all foam. They sent them back and got strawberry ones instead. Mind you, they have a frozen margarita machine but it still took over 10 minutes for the one girl in our group to get hers. The waitress at one point came over and said her drink should be out any minute. What do you mean?! Go back there and dispense it yourself! We asked for more chips and salsa, never got it. Secondly, it took her 30 minutes to come take our orders and another 30 to finally get our food. Luckily our food was hot, so I guess that was a pleasant surprise. Our food came and my friend had ordered a side of sour cream with her entree. She was charged $.99 but never received it. The other had pico de gallo in her taco salad which she requested not to have, so that took 10 minutes to come back out. As soon as we were all close to finishing our meals, we asked for our checks so we could get the heck outta here, since by now, its been two hours for one round of margaritas and five simple entrees. My friend who had to send back her salad got charged for two taco salads and then the waitress ran my card for another one of the girls dinner. I get making one mistake, but SERIOUSLY?! This was our last and final straw! We asked to speak to manager who didnt offer ANYTHING for our trouble! Not even to comp our drinks or offer a free round of margaritas would of been nice. No! She said shed have to check with the waitress/kitchen to get the whole story and justified charging my friend for two salads because it had to be sent back. This is the most awful service/management I have ever experienced! We came here to have a good time and good drinks/food for my friends bachelorette party but apparently we didnt deserve that. I used to be in the serving industry so I tip 20%, always, at the minimum. I hate to say that I did not leave a single penny tip, but now they know why. I either wont go back to Roja or go to the one out in Legacy, closer to where I live. Ridiculous!

First of all, if youre a tourist looking through these reviews, ignore them and go eat. Its a good restaurant and the food tastes like any other Mexican restaurant. If you want an honest, non-bitchy, un-paid-for review, continue reading below... I have to say, my husband and I almost didnt go because of all the really negative reviews, but since we were traveling, tired from the zoo, and the restaurant was near our hotel, we decided to give it a try... Mainly on the basis that the majority of people who post negative reviews online will complain about anything and everything because of the sense of power it gives them. First of all, we had no problem with the service. Our waiter seemed a little nervous, but eager to please. The only complaint I have against him is that he failed to refill our chips or salsa, but our food did come before either ran out. We were told the wait would be 15min and we were seated in less than 10min. While we were waiting, I got a strawberry margarita at the bar and the bar tender was friendly and produced my beverage before I could say, "Timmy fell down the well." (They could add more tequila, but, it was still yummy.)They put a delicious blend of salt and sugar around the rim of the glass, which was unique. The queso dip isnt really very exciting, but its melted cheese. The chips are nice and thick and came to our table directly from the fryer. They make up for the paid-for queso with their free salsa: its perfect for restaurant salsa, it has great flavor without being too spicy. (Lets face it, most gringos cant handle spicy salsa.) I ordered the pork enchiladas with the pork chile sauce and, I have to say, they really were delicious. I hated the rice and beans, but theyre exactly like the rice and beans at On the Border and that chain is huge, so a lot of other people must like them that way... Although, why, I cant understand. Other than that, the facilities were clean, including the bathrooms, and I really enjoyed my meal. PS: I NEVER post product/restaurant reviews online, Im only posting this one because I had such a hard time finding a place to eat based on the abundance of bitchy Google reviews. I posted this one to help the next gal looking for a Mexican restaurant in Omaha wade through the muck.

Usually when i come to roja its great but not this time. Me and 12 girls came to eat for a friends 21st birthday. The first impression was already bad. Our servers name was mark. All the people at the table ordered drinks and waited 20 minutes, i waited an extra 10 for my water. When he finally came back to the table he proceeded to take everyones food order while giving each person dirty looks as he went down the line. When he got to me he got irritated because i was asking questions about the meal i wanted. As the night went on he acted like he was mad to wait on our table, we are all servers and were very polite but that didnt seem to matter at all. After the first round the alcohol drinkers ended up going to the bar to get their own drinks because he only checked on us every 20 minutes . It was just a bad experience all together. Im not sure if he was havin a bad day but i really do hope this isnt how he treats all of his guests. Usually when we come we have ashlynn and she is a wonderful, respectful, friendly waitress, and knows how to get her money.

The waiter who served us at this restaurant became utterly disrespectful to ME after I made a simple request for a change to my drink. The Margarita I was initially served seemed a bit watered down, so I proceeded to the bar to ask if there was anything which could be done to fix this. While the bartender was very nice and willingly made the change for me, the waiter weirdly decided to hold this request against me all night. This was apparent through her actions during the night, where she visibly treated me differently than my coworkers. This was beyond distasteful, to think such a simple request could lead to such disgusting behaviors and attitudes!! While I unfortunately never got her name to be more specific, as I do not believe this is a reflection on anyone else at the establishment, she served our high stool table which was near the waiter check out station on Thursday Feb 2nd around 8pm. Now because of her I will never return, as this was definitely unwarranted - Worst experience EVER at any restaurant!
