I am currently sitting at an unclean booth at this god awful restaurant.. Let me tell you about my experience so far.. We walk in and my friend asked about the food. The hostess response knocked me off my feet. She said, and I quote, "the food isnt that great. Its not authentic at all. Its really bad Tex mex." Well, she didnt lie. We got chips and salsa and the salsa was practically diced tomatoes out of a can that have had water poured on them. I then ordered queso and I imagine that they stacked some Kraft singles and put them in the microwave.. Now Im looking at my burrito that for sure was just microwaved and has had the same queso treatment as my queso. There is literally an inch of melted cheese around this thing, which would be cool if I didnt want to taste the food (pretty sure I dont actually). Im 98% certain Ill be sick from this. So please dont eat here.. An update, two waiters are now talking about "tentacle porn" so thats nice to hear..

The welcome is always warm at Ricardo’s and the service is always excellent. The problem is that the food is mediocre at best. Last night, in particular, everyone’s food was cold when it arrived. I ordered the Mexican Salad without the tortilla bowl. It arrived with big chunks of cold, unseasoned chicken, a bunch of grated cheddar cheese and a bunch of limp lettuce with a blob of sour cream on top. I finally ordered some guacamole to add a dash of interest but it was so flavorless I had to add salsa to have any discernable flavor at all. This is not a one-time deal. This is every time I have been to Ricardo’s in the last three years. I only go 3-4 times a year because it is a friends favorite spot and I dont want to make her feel bad. Don’t worry…she never goes online so she won’t see this review! With so many good Mexican restaurants in Tulsa, I don’t know why anyone goes to Ricardo’s! You would be much better off at Taco Bueno!

Upon arrival, the hostess was quiet and surly. The restaurant was populated entirely by Caucasians. There were no Hispanic people working there or eating there. Our waitress did not introduce herself by name and gave antiquated service (old IHOP service). As a vegetarian in Oklahoma, I have come to terms with the fact that my options are limited. However, I ordered 2 cheese enchiladas and a chilé relleno. When I asked if the enchilada sauce had meat in it, I was told it did and asked if they had something that didnt contain meat. It was just queso. They charged me extra for being vegetarian. My entire plate was just covered with cheese. There were no beans and rice. The salsa was terrible and my husband said his food tasted burnt. Needless to say, we will absolutely NOT return to this restaurant. The front of the menu said, "Ay, caramba!" Way to be racist, Ricardos.

I try not to be too negative, but this place is awful. This place isnt authentic Tex Mex, much less authentic Mexican. Im pretty sure the salsa they serve is jarred, disgusting Pace. The queso they make you pay extra for is gross, thick, processed cheese product. The menu boasts that they are known for their Chile Rellano, so that is what I ordered. The only thing I can imagine its known for is being terrible. It was stuffed with either cheap american cheese or cheap over processed fake "cheddar " cheese product. On top of that it was ocercooked. Either way, it should be sin to make this dish that way. My boyfriend ordered the tamales and they were filled with dry, poorly seasoned, sub par ground beef. Definitely. Not. A tamale. Tex Mex or otherwise. Your money would be better spent at On the Border, and thats saying a lot I think.

All the services was wonderful. Now the food, to me it was bland and I normally make my own food spicy and with lots of seasoning. The sauces was more like straight and very few other ingredients. The cheese dip was good but again no other seasoning. The main meal was very good and portions was great. But still lacked the mexican seasoning that most people prefer. I was reluctant to give a lower than a 4 star becuase overall the staff and the main meals was really good. Its just if you like spicy food or with more seasoning than plain you may not enjoy it so much. They offered me some chopped jualopenos. That made it so much nicer. This is a great place if you want to take someone who cant handle too much spices.

I had the tamales. Which can only be order a la carte with rice and beans a la carte. My tamales were canned, thats right OUT OF A CAN. Which I can eat. But I dont go out and pay dinner prices to have canned tamales. Also my beans and rice must have been plated up and sat under a warmer cause my beans had a hard crust I had to break in order to eat them. My friends were freaked out by their meals too, I noticed their plates had crusty beans too. My husband on the other hand got a chicken quesadilla that he absolutely loved. And it honestly looked yummie. His plate had the sour and guac he asked them to leave off but he ate around it. The salad was okay not much flavor but tasted fine good texture.

My family has been a loyal fan of Ricardos for over 25 years. We have couple dates there, have family celebrations in the back at one of the large tables or in the separate meeting room, and meet friends there just to eat the delicious food and catch up. We love the frozen Margaritas and especially the Sangria Slushes! Our food favorites include double cheese, double meat nachos; chile rellenos; all of the enchiladas; Ricardos Grande dinner; the #5 combination dinner; the fabulous burritolata; and the burrito Fiesta! During meal times, there is sometimes a short wait, but it is worth it. Maybe see you there! Well be going back!

I thought the reviews were being dramatic. They werent. This isnt Mexican food. Its not even American food. The salsa really does just taste like a simple diced tomato sauce. The Mexican rice is dry. NOTHING is seasoned, unless you count their plain cheese "queso" as a seasoning (my whole "taco" was drenched with the stuff). I can only assume the positive reviews are connected to the restaurant or people preferring bland, microwaved food. Tried to give it the benefit of the doubt because I came here on recommendation, but this is was just an awful waste. PLEASE save your money. Youre better off at Taco Bell.

There is plenty of nice atmosphere, the wait staff was attentive, and the food arrived quickly. I had the dinner #4 which comes includes a chili relleno and two enchiladas with a side of guacamole. It was okay, not the best I have had but definitely okay. The enchiladas were made wroth corn tortillas which is not that common for this area but the corn tortillas were refreshing. The chips are not too thick and were crisp, the salsa could use some cilantro and I am pretty sure they fill their guacamole with banana. Overall the price is a bit higher than I like but I could recommend this place.

The food is horrible. The salsa has no taste, its almost as if the just opened a can of tomatoes and called it salsa.. I ordered a Grande plate. Witch the only thing that was ok was the nothing. They brought me this nasty looking tortilla with some kind of cheese that looked like it was under a hot lamp for hours..bery disappointed in the food. The staff was very nice but the food sucks.. the only good thing is the chips. They really should close there doors. Its very bad. Plus there coke products have no gas..
