I have one word "ridiculous" in a good way, as in, rediculously tasty! I am in love with The Silly Goose. To start off we didnt get the typical bread basket, crackers or peanuts placed on our table when we arrived, no. We got a magical thing called Pig Candy. Amazing! Everyone at our table ordered something different so we could try just about everything on their menu. The starters we order were THE BOMB! Fried green tomatoes with a wonderful creamy mustard type sauce. Alligator fried to perfection accompanied by another wonderful homemade sauce. My favorite starter was the Hoecakes. OMG I would almost lay down my life for their Hoecakes drizzled with a savory creamy tomato sauce. Our entrees were mind blowing. I had a beef roast type dish over the best parmesan grits Ive wver had in my entire life. The hen was so full of flavor. The chicken fried steak was also breaded and fries to.perfection and places on top a bed of the creamiest mashed potatoes youll ever have. For dessert they had a peanut butter and jellly cobbler. It came in a cute mini cast iron skillet topped with vanilla bean ice cream. YUM!!! My friends and I didnt come up for air until everything on our table was gone. Compliments to the chef. You should be so proud of your amazing talent. We love love love Lauren and Cadence! Lauren is the kindest person youll ever meet. Cadenec was so great with my friends 3 year old daughter. They played all evening. Cadence is just the sweetest girl ever. Thank you all so much for making our dinning experience the most unforgetable one weve ever had.

If you are in the area, I would highly recommend that you take some time and have a delicious meal here!. My wife and I were staying at a nearby bed and breakfast, and the proprietors there recommended that we go here for dinner. It was a great recommendation and we are already trying to figure out when we can go back. We had the pig wings as an appetizer and my wife had the pecan encrusted pork chop, while I had the chicken and waffles. Everything was cooked perfectly and delicious. Just as a note, the waffle part of the chicken and waffles was amazing. I love waffles and it was the best waffle I had ever had. If you ever decided to open for breakfast, I will be ordering a stack of those! Thanks for the wonderful meal!

I got to meet the owners of The Silly Goose at a wine and food event in St Louis. Nice family working hard to making great food! Love their determination. I ate three bowls of Gator Gumbo that night. The Gator Gumbo is a popular menu item, and its listed as a starter, but I know I could eat an entire bowl. It was so good, that when I got back to KC, I had to make my own gumbo. It was not nearly as satisfying as the Gator Gumbo I tried from The Silly Goose. Next time you are in Augusta, stop by and have dinner. You will not be disappointed!

Service was wonderful, food was amazing, Lauren our server was personable and down to earth! Literally the best food we have had at a restaurant in the Washington, Augusta, Marthasville, Wentzville area!!!! Extremely accommodating to our bigger party without reservations! Will be making this our weekly go to from now on. The food was made with love and intention, and it showed! Atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming to 4 small children, and Lauren did a wonderful job with them! Highly recommend the patio area!

Delicious! My wife and I spent our anniversary weekend out in wine country, and The Silly Goose was definitely a highlight of the trip. The atmosphere was cozy, the food was fantastic, and the wait staff was friendly and efficient. My wife and I live within walking distance of several of the best restaurants in STL, and The Silly Goose gives you a similar caliber of cuisine in a small-town setting. If you like Southern food, youd be a fool to pass this place up.

We only had appetizers when we visited, but everyone else that we talked to had great things to say about The Silly Goose. The lobster poutine was delicious. The use of sweet potato and russet fries really added a lot to the dish. The crawfish appetizer wasnt as appealing, but not everything on every menu fits all taste buds. The restaurant itself is clean and cleverly decorated. The wait staff was very polite.

What a delicious surprise in Augusta, MO! Far enough from the crowded wineries and a first class dining experience! The Bloody Mary tomato and pickled shrimp starter salad is Amazing! Their blackened scallops served on corn-jalapeño grits take Southern cuisine to some new and interesting places. Make a reservation and head to Augusta!!

Unique southern style dishes with higher-end presentation. Interesting, but delicious. Comfortable, home-style setting, fitting for Augusta. Excellent service. My wife and I are there for our anniversary. We enjoyed the food and feel of this little place.

We are very picky when it comes to food and we love this place. The chef is top notch for this style of food. They do warn you to expect to spend some time with the experience (about 1 1/2-2 hours for us).
