The place is so beautiful! Excellent service from the waiter and the manager! The food was good!

This was a terrible experience from beginning to end. We were here for my nephews graduation, and our dinner here turned a lovely day into a stressful, frustrating evening. The service was horrendous, the manager was EXTREMELY rude, so was the server, and the food was lukewarm and bland. We had 17 people in our party, at three tables, and each tables order was taken separately (leaving to place each one in the computer before taking the next tables order) and served with their food 10 minutes apart. Then, they put all 17 people in our party on one ticket and told us to go to the front to pay. After the last table ate and paid (one line to checkout), they then accused us of not paying them for $7 worth of our aggregate meal, although none of us (at the third and last table to be served) had these extras (which they admitted), he proceeded to verbally assault us, exclaiming that it was unfair that people ate food they didnt pay for. We explained that we werent at that table and couldnt be expected to know what each person at another table had, especially if the server who placed the order didnt know. Further, we asked for separate tickets and were denied, so wed made every attempt to avoid such a situation. The managers attitude, decorum, and overall people skills were reprehensible, and he should not manage a lemonade stand, much less a rrestaurant. I will NEVER visit this restaurant or any affiliated chain again. Thats how bad it was. If you want to be treated with respect and like your money matters, I implore you not to patronize this place. Ive traveled all over the world, and Ive never been treated with such disdain, indifference, and unveiled disrespect.

where do i begin?! sat at the bar and the bartender didnt know the first rule to making a margarita...NEVER FORGET TO SALT THE GLASS! plus he was more worried about hanging out with his friends and in the kitchen, he was hardly at the bar at all. food service was really quick and fairly decent. only took 5mins to get my food. but the bartender was never around to get me some tortillas! food ended up getting cold, and the manager says, "thats just how we operate.." so it seems that the only bartender is fully responsible for waiting other tables plus the bar. im sorry, but u have a bartender, waiters, and kitchen staff for a reason... USE THEM LIKE U SHOULD. seems like the staff just does what ever they want. the only good thing i have to say is that the draft beer was really good, everything else from start to finish was just flat out horrible! and to top it off, they allow people to smoke imside the resturant! smokey atmosphere, poor service that isnt attentive, and poor managment!

Ignore most of the bad reviews for El Sombrero. It is what it is: a good local restaurant with good Mexican food, average to good service, and a really fun building design that provides plenty of atmosphere. AND....its family friendly! Is it authentic Mexican? No, but neither are most Mexican restaurants, Chinese restaurants, Japanese......ETC...... in the United States. So, if youre such a "food snob" that you must critique a fine local Mexican restaurant, then what in the world are you doing going to an obviously local restaurant in the first place? My family loves going there and so will yours!

The worst dining experience. The wait staff was polite, but not as attentive as they were in the beginning - our drinks were filled once. The other people in my group loved the "salsa special". However, I got the Camarones Diablo and it was disgusting. The sauce tasted like ketchup and the vegetables were overcooked. I had one bite and did not like it then asked for my meal to be refunded out of 8 other plates. They refused! Please avoid at all costs. I am from NY and this was atrocious due to how it was handled by management. It could have been remedied by a simple comp. **pictures available**

Horrible experience at this establishment. The manager on duty Enrique, was extremely rude, unprofessional and unaccommodating to my family as guest. There was hair in the food and the manager Enrique was unapologetic and not willing to Provide us with other menu options. I strongly do not recommend this establishment for dining experiences......I repeat do not eat here!! Piss poor customer service ! Two thumbs down

We stopped here for dinner after driving for several hours. Food was decent and we had a good server who spoke English and was helpful with our questions. Its a very large place and it doesnt appear to be cleaned frequently. We had a window booth and there was trash, food and possibly insect parts in the window sill. The space between where the seat and back of the seats meets also had trash in it.

I have to wonder at those who say they got poor service and Enrique was rude, I have to wonder how *they* acted, because I know him, he is anything but rude. The food is always good, the service is always good. Is it authentic, for the U.S. yes it is. Very close to Tex-Mex that I ate every day when I lived in South Texas. But if youre looking for "real" Mexican food, go to Mexico.
