Been to this place many times and the food is excellent but the service has been horrible lately. I live out of state and came to visit for the holidays and i wanted to go to my favorite sushi establisment. We went in a group of 6 and our order was horribly mishandled. My sister got charged for entrees she ordered but never received. I myself ordered a second bottle of sake and was charged but never received as well. The wait staff has changed and i suspect that may be the issue. A year or so ago i wouldve given this place 5 stars but not with the current wait staff. They werent attentive, probably took a few too many shots during their shift. Didnt get a water refill until I waved my empty glass in the air at a waiter. The place wasnt busy. I typically tip well but the horrible service ruined the night for us and so i didnt want to leave anything. Still got charged gratuity eventhough i crossed it off and wrote the reason why. Not the kind of service one would expect from an establisment where a typical meal for 2 costs $75 or more. Will not be going back.

Where do i start....ok i guess i will start with the service. The service was terrible. After being seated, we didnt get to order anything until at least 15 minutes after. 25 minutes after ordering, after having finished our drinks, I began to wonder where our food was, let alone the servers. I look over the bar, and I see them conversing and drinking with customers. Now i have no problem with that but it was a friday night and the restuarant was literally full somehow, and these servers, and bartenders are drinking on the job! I orderd a spicy tuna roll and a crunchy roll and when they arrived i was more than disappointed. The tuna was pink and old. The crunchy roll was soggy and cold. I wondered why... Add insult to injury, they had the nerve to add 18% gratuity to the bill!! This isnt the first time I`ve experienced this kind of dining here but this is the last time I will ever set foot in that place agian.

I advise to avoid this place. Went in for happy hour to see vodka, rum, tequila on their hh menu. Ordered 4 shots of patron (tequila) and was charged full price. We asked the waitress and she said only phillips patron. I guess she did not know her alcohol. On top of that we ordered at 9pm and got our food at 1030pm. Said they were backed up but the place was not even half full. There were customers who walked out because of the wait time. Please save your time and money and avoid this place

It wasnt the tacky decor. It wasnt the cafeteria style tables. It wasnt the abundance of times our waitress said sorry. It was simply the amount of time that passed between our food being ordered and when it reached the table. Im not saying it wasnt amusing watching countless suburban couples traipse from door to table and back again, however, I would have much rather enjoyed said amusement with some sushi on the goddamned table.

I cant believe people are writing such negatives reviews on this place! Im a sushi fanatic and Sushi Tango is hands down the best sushi Ive ever had. Restaurant is small and cozy with great atmosphere. The wait staff were pretty good, just didnt check on us as much as Id like. But overall it was an amazing restaurant. I still cant get over how amazing the sushi is. I will now be going here on a regular basis. I cant get enough!

Im pretty shocked at the negative reviews. My husband and I have been coming here since they opened. They have very generous fish to rice ratio, always fresh. We sat at the sushi bar and were given a free sample at one point. Tried the uni, not my thing but my hubby loved it. Honestly its our favorite sushi place in the Twin Cities, other than their Uptown location. Service is usually good too.

Waited 45 minutes to order before having to flag down a server to take our order. Food took forever, server told us it was given to someone else. Drinks never refilled. Entire staff blatantly drunk and talking about smoking out of the peace pipe in front of small children. I would never recommend this place for dinner service if this is the behavior of a family restaurant in Woodbury.

As other reviewers have said, service is very slow for taking orders and even cooking food. On top of that, hopefully nobody else will experience this, but they charged everybodys card twice with two different amounts. I highly doubt this was a "glitch" they didnt mention this to me, but only one other member at the table. As for calling back for a refund, it goes to voice mail.

The service is very slow, which is a shame because the food and prices are decent. The atmosphere is also nice. They need more than one server at a time. I waited 25 min for my roll, and it was only after I flagged down the wait staff that it was brought to me. Is it worth the wait? Not really. The quality of the sushi is about the same as any chain restaurant. Three stars.

Excellent quality sushi, great drinks, and a helpful staff all make Sushi Tango a fantastic restaurant! Feel free to ask for recommendations for things that arent on the menu, or to have them custom craft a roll using your favorite ingredients. Dont miss happy hour - all day Monday, afternoon and late night on other days. If youre adventurous, ask for a Demon Releaser!

I love the food here; however, every time we go in the service is consistently bad. I have been going here for over 6 years and this is by far the worse experience yet. Please teach common courtesy to your wait staff!! I couldnt even flag down our waiter to order more food or refill our drinks. Sushi Tango Woodbury, do something about all these complaints, please!!!!

If you are a fan of cold food and terrible service then this is the place to go! The sever was rude and did not do or say anything when w told her or food was cold. All of our food came out at different random times.clearly they spend more time writing fake reviews abut house good their food is then in improving it. would recommend to no one.

I went to go eat there last week. I sat at the sushi bar front and center. The hostess/server was really nice. The owner was working that night and he is a great and funny guy. The sushi chefs made my food in little time and I got my kitchen orders quickly as well. In short, it was great service and I will be eating there again real soon.

hands down worst service ive ever gotten. server made eye contact several times after we got a dessert menu, but never came back. we waited an hour before flagging down another waiter and having him ring us up... sushi was okay tastes the same from the grocery store. way too much money spent on a bad experience and semi-decent food

Every time we go we wait a long time for a server to come to our table. Last time we had to ask the host for a server to possibly come and take our order. Weve dined here about 4-5 times and the food is consistently tastes fresh and amazing and we enjoy the happy hour specials. Wish the service was better.
