Ate here for lunch. Had a Teriyaki bento with California roll and shumai. First off, shumai is Chinese, not Japanese and these were the smallest I have ever seen. They tasted as if they came from the frozen aisle section. The California roll was poorly done, smaller than reputable sushi places and not tightly rolled. Teriyaki was actually a little better than what I was expecting as most places around here use a pre-made syrup. The others in my group had a hibachi lunch which was the same as what you get at any Mongolian BBQ or Asian buffet in MN. It was mediocre. If you want something authentic, or just good, then you should look elsewhere. I have not tried this place for dinner/Hibachi, or more correctly Teppanyaki. The table slide flipping of food has nothing to do with Japanese food/cooking. And while it may be entertaining for some, I would rather just have great food. A slightly better alternative is Akita (3/5 in my opinion). It also suffers from a Chinese/Midwestern interpretation of Japanese food, but is better tasting in my opinion.

I had a table for six we came in were seated right away which is a plus. However our waitress was incredibly rude got my husbands sushi order wrong. We asked for spicy tuna she brought out salmon. When my husband said it was wrong she attempted to give him an attitude, took the sushi left and then brought back the right order. Our hibashi chef was no energy sub par, And the food was OK at best. When we were leaving I smiled and greeted a waitress who was leaning against the wall and she just mean mugged me then deliberately cut me off to where I almost tripped while holding my two children. I tried it 2 years ago and it was the same experience. The only reason I tried it now was because it was close to our hotel. Next time I will drive the additional 45 minutes to Burnsville and eat at Shogun. Trust me Shogun is a better place with better food and better servers

This place is shady. I bought two $50 gift cards for Christmas and when we went out to dinner with the recipients the waiter said there was no money on the gift cards. The lady tried to argue with me that I would need to original reciept to honor my gift cards and I told her thats ridiculous because no one keeps those. I pulled up my online banking and showed them that I purchased 100 worth of gift cards and pointed to the girl who sold them to me. They told me after that they had lost their giftcard data from the month of December but that was only after making me feel like a criminal. Not happy and will never gift them another dollar of my business.

Worst Experience. I normally love going to this place in Woodbury, however, at a recent visit the following occurred. - Overbooked, waited over an hour when we already had reservations - Waitress took our order, dropped off our drinks, and dissappeared - My kids ran out of water, no waitress - Asked for the waitress, no waitress - My bill came, she didnt put my coupon on. - Finally my drinks came AFTER my wife had to leave to get the kids water. Absolutely disgusted by this place because of this experience. When you cant even get your drinks during the entire experience its not good business.

The service was even worse than the food. The waiters breath wreaked (super appetizing) and as my brother said, it was as if the waiter was high and had no idea where he was or what he was doing. He had a bad attitude also he was passive aggressive, and you could hardly hear him. He never asked us how the food was, or anything any good waiter would normally ask. The food is way too expensive for the quality, and it seemed as though the management did not care about customer service. We were pretty bummed because this place somehow has good reviews, and we were expecting more.

My boyfriend and I were having a date day and decided to get dinner here at Osaka. Our server was amazing. She was so incredibly friendly and made us both feel very welcomed. I had made a joke to her about how how the sushi was delicious but more spicy than I am used to. She felt bad and surprisingly brought my a house salad to calm my senses. About 5 minutes later the sushi chef surprised us with 3 non spicy rolls for FREE! Never had we felt so taken care of at a restaurant. I highly recommend going here. You wont be disappointed.

Went last night for the first time with my family! It was an amazing experience! The chef was hilarious and definitely put on a show for our kids, which they freakin loved! The food was absolutely delicious! The portions were more than what I expected! We are definitely going back to this restaurant; It is officially our favorite place to go eat! I cant emphasize enough on how great our chef was. Our waitress was new, but was great as well. A memorable night indeed!

This place was awesome great atmosphere not too expensive and service was phenomenal food and chef A+ even my kids love the food and they are picky eaters. Went for first time a couple months ago not knowing what to expect have been back twice since and actually making reservations after this post. Chef does make a big difference there is one thats younger and not as great or out going as the others but he does try I guess ....

The experience was OK. Some chefs do more and the one we had was kind of boring. No personality at all. The food was OK at best. You definitely are not paying for the food quality. We ordered the dinner for 2 and shared amongst the 4 of us. (2 young kids) Portions were perfect but lobster was tuff, scallops were rubber, steak was best part. Then last night my daughter got sick, I woke up with a bad tummy too. Will not be back.

Food was way over priced, portions were not close to equal the gal 2 seats away from me got twice as much steak as I got. The steak had very little flavor the shrimp was good even though it was over done. Not to mention the happy birthday song thing with the makes an the guy beating on a drum every 5 minutes kind of annoying. All and all I probably not be going back.

This is my favorite sushi place so far in the area of where I just moved. Went here during happy hour, the drinks were delicious and the sushi was amazing. Also ordered the spring rolls and miso soup, which were fantastic. We sat outside on a very nice patio, and the waitress was really nice. No complaints.

Seated within ten minutes at hibachi grill. It was during the peak dinner rush so our table sat for a bit until our chef arrived. Chef made it fun and the food was fresh and very tasty. Great atmosphere, clean place and friendly staff! Great place.

Normally love this place for dinner in the hibachi area. Ate here for lunch today and did not get very good service sitting down in the lunch area. From the moment we were sat we did not feel welcomed at all. Very close to getting up to leave.
