I went to The District with my mother who lives at the nearby Folkstone Senior Residence. We were greeted by a polite hostess who showed us a table, left us menus and said the waiter would be right with us. As we settled in, the first thing we noticed was that we could barely hear each other talk over the clatter and voices of the ambient sound around us. A guy at a nearby table was particularly loud but then he was competing with everything else. So I would say the acoustics were awful and would say to anyone with a soft voice, hearing issues or simply wanting a quiet dining experience, this is not your place. We examined the lunch menu and thought the prices were rather high. An Asian noodle salad at lunch time $17. Then we noticed that 7 or 8 minutes had gone by and no waiter. We were never even given water and we were kind of hungry. I went to the restroom to wash my hands and when I returned still no waiter in sight. It occurred to us that if you’re going to charge a lot, good service and management goes with the territory. We decided to leave and the same hostess that seated us very pleasantly said thank you and have a nice day. We weren’t sure if she remembered that she seated us only 12-14 minutes earlier or we would have explained that the waiter was a no show. We went across the street to another establishment where we were seated and served almost instantly. Despite it being busy, we could easily hear each other talk. So I think “The District” could take lessons from the establishment across the street which is a Sports Bar!

Overall this is a disappointing experience. Some of the food is good and unique, but it is mostly uninspired and given the options in the area. Ive been a few times hoping it was just the meal I had picked out, but I always leaving with the same feeling. Ill be sticking with the local favorites. The service has been good, but I get the impression management doesnt know how to keep their best servers around, so this may change.

One of my favorite places to grab lunch in Wayzata. Food is really fresh - try the cold press juice drinks! See George in the bar area if you want great service, he always makes me and my guests feel at home. I can tell the owner is very involved and cares about his customers. Will be going back often!

Ate at this restaurant for lunch and had a meal that was absolutely horrific. With all the choices in Wayzata I dont see why anyone would go the this restaurant a second time. I would definitely not recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Good dinner on a Friday night. Tuna was perfectly cooked and presentation was nice. Not too noisy, good place to have a conversation. Lighting and ambiance is nice. Parking is easy underground. All-in a good place.

My wife and I ate our last meal here. We frequent Distrct fairly often but this time our service was horrendous!!! I couldnt believe how poorly we were treated by our server Dan. Never again.

Loved this place. Wonderful decor in a great location. They have a nice outdoor patio area with great sunset views. The food was wonderful and healthy. The seabass was outstanding!
