I definitely recommend this place. We were in from Baltimore, the only thing that my fiance wanted for his 50th Birthday was to spend the week with his family. On that Friday night after a wonderful dinner at Djangos (If you havent been make certain that you go. They have amazing French cuisine.) We got to Blue Moon around 9:30 pm and it was already hopping. We had a couple of drinks and let them know that we were there for a special occasion. They did not disappoint. We all had a fantastic time! If it wasnt for a fun filled weekend packed with family plans we would have shut the place down. We will be back, that is for sure.

Giving the benefit of the doubt that the performance will be good as it has not started yet, the service was far from par. We were literally the only people in the bar, two of us sitting at the bar, and still couldnt get a drink. After we moved and ordered food, the waitress said the wings came in one sauce, Buffalo, and then forgot the order, and when it came out after the rest of our food, it was straight BBQ sauce. Service is a one star at best.

This place has a great atmosphere and the piano players are great. They kept the crowd going not only with their talented playing, but with the fun banter. I came here with a friend and we ordered food at the upstairs bar. Our entire order arrived in less than 10 minutes, even though the bar was busy. The food was great and their salsa actually has a kick! I will definitely be returning, and this time Ill bring cash to request songs.

The burgers are awesome - I recommend them to everyone. I just had their chicken tenders and they may be even better than the burgers! The seasoned fries are great too. I stole a sample of my wifes toasted ravioli and was surprised how good those were too, especially considering I dont usually like ravioli. Great food, reasonable prices. We often do take out but also a great place to dine in.

Awesome place!! As someone who has frequented many bars in the Des Moines area I can say this may be the best overall atmosphere in town. Good crowds, high energy, fun for anyone that wants to party. We had an awesome server (Makenzie) in contrast to some of the other reviews Didnt eat but food looked decent from what I could tell?

First time here, date night with my wife. Place was packed and hard to find place to seat, but entertainment was excellent and my wife (who is picky with her drinks) found something she really like! I would recommend this place to anyone who wants to break away from the computer DJ bars and experience some good live entertainment!!!!!

I brought my friend here for the first time (hes very picky about his bars) and Ive never seen him have so much fun listening to some live music and laughing with his friends. Also the bartenders are very attentive and on the spot. Would 100% recommend his place to someone looking for a chill good time in West Des Moines

Went there for new years, ordered a scotch and there was a bug/fruitfly in it. I asked the bartender if I could get another different one, the bartender then ignores me for ten minutes then finally says "You put this in there"!!!!! Its comical, needless to say I will never go back.

My boyfriend and I absolutely love this place. The environment is great and the music is fun, we used to be regulars but after they got rid of half price drinks on Wednesday, we stopped going so much. Its a little too expensive. Thats the only reason Im docking a star.

Tuesday Night Trivia is tons of fun, otherwise its not really a place I go to. Dueling pianos can be fun, if you enjoy that sort of thing. Its also nice if they know the song you request.

They hosted a private work party and the service was beyond what you expect of a bar. Nice selection of both on tap beers and bottles. Wine was alright. Very nice specialty drinks.
