I stopped in early this week to grab a cup of coffee and noted that in addition to the Bernie Sanders sign in the front window there was an OBAMA BLEND sign. Being me I found it humorous that the OBAMA BLEND was the most expensive coffee they sold. Also being me I decided to needle the counter guy a bit. Asking if maybe they could add a RUBIO BLEND so I as a Republican could feel comfortable, As I left I heard a loud comment behind me....WE DONT WANT NAZIS IN HERE. So if you are a Republican I would suggest Dunn Brothers on Grand just a few blocks away which although pretty darned liberal they at least dont call you nasty disgusting names while selling you a cup of Joe. This is a store that has been crossed off my list as having way too little tolerance for diversity. I would wear a Wellstone sticker in there if I wanted friendly service.

Best roaster in the city, arguably the Twin Cities in general. While other local bean purveyors have become increasingly corporate and/or offer low quality beans, these folks do it right. Not only can you find interesting flavorful blends but also you can spring for high-end single sourced coffee as well on occasion (one day I will get their Kona!). The coffee shop itself is one of the few that is left that offers a truly vibrant community with all sorts of people coming in and out from all walks of life. The staff is always friendly and helpful and very welcoming. This is one of my all time favorite places in St. Paul.

Stopped in for coffee with my Mom on a Tuesday lunch hour. The atmosphere was great...busy but not packed. The baristas were friendly & approachable. Wonderfully managed with great focus on customer service. The coffee was amazing! The soy latte was perfection (better than Starbucks in my opinion)! Like most locally owned coffee shops the focus is definitely on quality. If you are looking for a great cup of coffee...youll find one here.

J & S is the perfect neighborhood coffee shop. Im not a coffee snob, although I know that once I tried the Mexican Mocha I had found my drink, and I never looked back. The atmosphere is relaxed, the staff--most of whom are long-timers who seem very dedicated to the place--are friendly, its almost always possible to find a place to sit, and the wifi works consistently. Wouldnt change a thing.

J&S Bean Factory is everything that you could want out of a neighborhood coffee shop. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, and atmosphere is warm and welcoming. The variety and quality of the coffee that is roasted in house is second to none. This is the only place that I will buy coffee from in the entire city. If you like coffee this place is definitely worth the trip.

They Do One Thing Well - GREAT Coffee. They are a little out of my way from the East Side, but on weekend morning I make the trek to J&S to buy my beans needed for the week and a cup to get me through the busy day. I was introduced to them at First Saturdays at St. Agnus Bakery - and it was a marriage made in heaven

Best coffee beans with great roasts. Awesome patio, even in winter there is a spot to drink coffee outside and have good conversation and the occasional cigar. Staff seems a little quirky but thats not meant to be a negative. If you like cold press coffee get the Mike Bomb, its awesome.

Great neighborhood coffee shop. Their beans are roasted on site. You can even watch them do it. You see the same friendly faces behind the counter each time. Ample seating indoor and out on their patio. Not the place for the latest innovative drinks, but what they do, they do well.

Great coffee. Take beans home after enjoying a fresh brewed mug. . Roasted fresh on site. Wide variety of different beans from around the world. They have 100% Jamaican Blue Mountain beans. You cant find these just anywhere. Outside patio if you like.

Great local coffee roaster. Good outdoor seating and whole coffee beans for sale. Dark roasts tend to be very smokey in flavor. The pastries are fresh and the selection is good early in the morning, but sells out by the afternoon on most days.

I love this coffee shop! It is one of my favorites in the twin cities. Great for studying, visiting with friends, a date, a meeting, Or just a quick bite or coffee before work. Sometimes there is live music too. A very cozy-neighborhood feel.

We like J&S because we can bike there with our three young kids. Large outdoor seating area. It is simple, no frill coffee house. I saw they had Tanzanian Peaberry, one of my favorites beans that seems to be hard to find these days.

Excellent coffee. This is no Starbucks but a neighborhood hole Im the wall. Arts hippie crowd. Not a yuppie hang out but a place that knows how to roast and make great coffee. Probably one of the better coffee I have had.

This place has to be one of my favorite coffee shops. Not only are they an amazing local roaster, their drinks are far superior to drinks youll find up the road at the mainstream shops. Try a Mexican Mocha!

The Bean Factory isnt swanky or upscale--half the seating is made from repurposed church pews! The coffee, however, is fantastic, roasted onsite, and is my go-to on weekend mornings.

This is one of the few coffee spots that offer a pour-over. The options border on the excessive, and I can get a different flavor from a different part of the world every time I go.

My first visit was disappointing. Coffee was both watery and very bitter. I also cannot stand styrofoam cups. The employees were very friendly. Ill maybe try again.

Great Staff!! They roast their own coffee in store. And the coffee is good. Prices are competitive with big chains. Buy green beans to custom roast your own coffee.
