Ive had the "coffee of the day", an americano, and a latte here. All excellent. To my knowledge they do only have the one "coffee of the day" so you roll the dice a bit in case you dont like the particular choice that day. Cream is sourced from a nearby farm and is as high-quality as the coffee. I dont recall them having options like cinnamon/cocoa/etc. to add to your coffee, but that fits with their sort of purist approach. Their pastries are really top-notch. Not sure whether they do them in-house or have them brought in, but it doesnt so much matter seeing as how theyre so good. Last time I went they had a selection of croissants, some currant-earl grey tea scones, cookies, and an apricot danish. Price-wise they arent cheap, but for the quality Id say youre getting pretty good bang for your buck. Their espresso drinks are pretty comparable in cost to the major chains. Atmosphere is relaxed, low-light, and gallery-like. A good selection of comfortable chairs and a room with a long table for meetings in the back.

Stopped by today to buy some coffee beans, they usually have recently roasted, small size bags.Tthey only had Kenya . and decaf Mexico beans. whats with that? I talked to someone behind the counter. He said that they are only going to buy Kenya and Ethiopian beans as of now. I said what about coffee beans form Central, SA, or the Pacific Rim? Some former barista roasts their coffee beans locally was the answer and they think the other origin beans are not up to their standards. Well then, I think this coffee place is not my cup of java any more. I remember the good old days when it was The Roastery and they roasted coffee beans on site, and they had a welcoming, friendly, attitude and coffee beans from all over the world.

Quixotic has a neat atmosphere and good location. Parking can be hard to find, especially during summers with local construction. They serve some new/unique products, like growlers of cold brew or nitro cold brew, which is fun. They have talented baristas that obviously know what theyre doing. I give 3 stars because their regular coffee drinks could be a lot better. For some reason, both espresso drinks and regular drip coffee always seem very acidic. Theyre also higher on the price range, especially with Starbucks and Caribou nearby as competition.

Great drinks, many options, LOTS of space. This seems to be a mecca for folks to tap away diligently at their computers. Rarely does anyone make eye contact so I wouldnt say it has any sort of "Cheers" aspect, but there is a ton of seating, most of it really comfortable, the wifi connection is good, and they play pretty decent music at a really reasonable volume. The menu has a lot of options and the coffee and hot chocolate are both good. I also really appreciate that they have glasses for water.

One point on the golden triangle of twin cities cafes, Quixotic is the one to go to when you cannot get a seat at the brilliant Kopplins (north, on Marshall) or Peace Coffee on the other side of the River, and it can hold up its head in that company too. I love that its not too busy, but also fear it, both for Quixotics continued existence and for the people of Highland. If only they used organic milk all would be perfect, but the baristas are entirely pleasant and the drinks impeccably made.

This is my favorite coffee shop in Saint Paul. They serve a rotating selection of single origin coffees, as well as a nice house blend, and a variety of espresso drinks, teas, and kombuchas. Theres also some food, which Ive heard is good too. Its a big place with a cool modern aesthetic and lots of comfortable seating. The baristas are knowledgeable and friendly, and they play good music. Some drinks can be a bit expensive, but otherwise there really isnt much room for improvement here.

Quixotic I love you so so so much but I am always wishing that I could order food when youre out! I often come at 12:30 or 1 to have lunch and the salads and sandwiches are already completely gone! That and the pastries are usually cleared out too ;( Just a suggestion to make it better. Other than that youre my favorite coffee shop in the Twin Cities. Amazing coffee, amazing atmosphere, the internet works great, amazing food when available, and always a spot to sit. Thank you!

Beautiful building, very nice selection of sandwiches from Patisserie 46. The reason why I only left four stars: I ordered a small coffee (turned out to be less than 6oz), paid roughly $ 2.50. Loved it but I was expecting that a Coffee shop of this level would provide sleeves (only offered for the larger size coffee)and stevia option for sweetening. The white generic paper cup surprised me a little. I am probably spoiled from other Coffee houses that pay attention to details.

My wife and I used to go here a lot. Theres no doubt that the hand-dripped coffee is very good; and the bakery treats are fine. The problem is that my wife only drinks tea, and the shops new selection of teas includes nothing like the kind that she prefers--a basic black tea such as an English Breakfast. So, no more Quixotic for us. The irony is that right across the street one of the TCs best tea shops, Teasource, sells the excellent Welsh Morning tea--our go-to black tea.

My first visit to Quixotic, on the recommendation of a friend who works in the area. Wow! Even though I got here "late" for lunch, the one sandwich remaining, tasted as exquisite as it was wrapped. My order for an Americano was greeted with "approval." The staff was very attentive, helpful, and even complimentary of my t-shirt ("my cardio is a coffee run"). I live on the "other" side of the river, but will make this a regular stop when I venture to St. Paul.

Super happy to have such a high quality coffee shop within walking distance of my house and close to a bus stop. Im very particular. Superior espresso. High quality tea selection. Good eats. Superior service. In particular Shelley, Jenna, and Ryan are my favorite employees (they greet me by name, know what Im having, and deliver it to my table).

What a delightful find! I happened upon this cafe and was truly taken back by the charming ambience full of character in every aspect from locally roasted coffee beans to delectable foods (especially the chia pudding!) to local business merchandise to the cozy yet cheek interior design. Looking forward to coming back many many times!

This is the kind of place you want to sit and really enjoy your coffee. Unfortunately it is really difficult to find seating. There are a dozen single people filling up the tables. The basic coffee was sharp and a little too bitter for me. The specialty drinks are exception. I love the cold brew. It is rich, dark and delicious.

Great atmosphere. Lots of beautiful 1-2 person booths that are great for working on a laptop. The staff is nice, the tea menu is listed by caffeine content, and the music is laid back enough that it can just sit in the background. Theres a private glass-enclosed room that has one long table that can seat up to eight people.

Wonderful staff who knows my order when I walk in and dont hesitate to make an iced coffee for me even when its freezing outside. I come here several times a week to study, the environment is very relaxing especially compared to the crowded airport feeling of the Starbucks across the street and the music is great.
