My fourteen year old cousin and I were hanging out after a tough day interview at a new school, so I treated him to a cup of decaf coffee at Bread & Chocolate, as a little pick me up! He ordered a brownie to go with his coffee. It was so good, he had to share it. How many fourteen year old boys do you know that would offer to share a brownie? He said, "Its the worlds best brownie!" And, weve been hooked ever since. I have to agree with him. We live in North Minneapolis, but on a tough day, we venture over to Grand Ave to Bread and Chocolate . . . its our favorite place when we need a little sweetness in life! I know Nicollet Avenue is called "eat street", but Grand Avenue has some wonderful little surprises. Bread and Chocolate is definitely one of them!

I find it odd how this is so much worse than Cafe Latte considering how good the cake and food are there. The coffee ended up being worse and the pastries were nothing to come back for. Save the time and money and go across the street and get some cake at Cafe Latte.

strong & bitter, but good espresso. Sat down and used the wifi to do some work. For breakfast I had an egg and cheese panini with roasted red peppers, caramelized onions, and red pepper doping sauce. I loved the sauce but food was a bit expensive! Good coffee!

We absolutely love the atmosphere and the food here, but it does get really spendy. Taking my family of four out to dinner (with dessert) at Cafe Latte, always is over $100. And Bread and Chocolate across the street has the best chocolate chunk cookie!

Ive eaten every croissant available and never been disappointed. Their coffee is delicious and priced better than caribou or starbucks. They also have great lunch options. Order any panini and you wont be disappointed. The staff is very nice also.

Everything on the menu is absolutely amazing...My favorite pastry offered is the ginger cookie with the icing...it has the perfect crisp that will make you beg for more...paninis are also great. A little pricy but definitely worth it.

Sister shop to Cafe Latte (and generally less crowded!). They have incredible breakfast sandwiches, including vegetarian options. I regularly stop in for a coffee and a croissant. Closes at 6 pm.

Its always busy. Chocolate croissant is the best Ive ever had. Coffee is refillable. My only complaint: it is almost impossible to snag a table which can fit two people with laptops comfortably.

Breakfast menu is very complete. All their bread, chocolates, deserts, bagels and everything baked is homemade. Good service, pretty quick for the Caribbean and the best brewed coffee around.

What the heck are you buying at cafe latte if the bill is over $100 for four people? I can see maybe 80, but each person spending 25 bucks on soups, salads and sandwiches, is just absurd.

Delicious - besides the dessert which is amazing, the ingredients used in the food are clearly fresh. Try the chili soup (i think that is what it is called...)
