I went here for the first (and last) time for brunch. The waitress seemed very uninterested in helping us and mixed up our drink orders. She had deodorant stains on the sides of her shirt and a wet stain on the bottom of the shirt. I ordered eggs benedict and it was burned. When I asked for new English muffins and more Hollandaise sauce, they only brought the English muffins. I asked again and they brought me cold Hollandaise sauce. The hashbrowns were premade from the beginning of the day and not very good. Also, the Hollandaise sauce was also clearly some kind of premade or powder mix (read:like cheese sauce youd get for a pretzel in a gas station). I was very disappointed and will not visit again. The service and food were both subpar.

Since I posted an initial review the Place has undergone some ownership changes. Last night we went there , got a drink on the patio, then were told by one of the servers that the kitchen had just closed. We knew something was up because we saw the kitchen staff walk out . Sadly, the floor managers(s) didnt come around to comp our drinks and apologize, they left that up to their waitstaff. Extremely unprofessional on their part.Our server was classy and took care of us. We left to have to find dinner somewhere else. Would advise that you stay away from this place until they get their back-of-the-house issues resolved.

The food is okay. Its not special. Their idea of a special is an $8 Burger with no side. To add a side is going to cost $4 more which automatically turns it into a basket which will cost you about $15 for a burger and fries before you add in a tip. I wouldnt call that a special. Haha its a Yuppie bar. If youre down home, down-to-earth, salt-of-the-earth, Penny Pincher, get your moneys worth, bang for your buck type of guy or gal dont go here. This place is great for trendy, douchey, yuppies. Its just right for people who have extra money to throw around and dont mind getting shorted. Thats the clientele there after.

Ive eaten here twice, and both times was very impressed. At a corporate function, we got to try all their apps. The smoky wings were especially tasty. The next time I tried the Ruben Brat. Quite tasty. They have a battle of the burgers feature which Ive heard good things about. I havent really figured out why they call it the Golden Nugget yet. Their theme is not readily apparent. The wood paneling and furniture sets almost an Irish Pub feel, but the wall hangings say American Grill. Not really sure what asthetic they are going for.

We have always had great food when we visit this local favorite. Their burgers and salads are the best. Drinks are reasonably priced for a bar of this size and atmosphere. Level of service is sometimes questionable as we have had both good and bad. We were a little upset the last time we visited as they would not allow us to put up an umbrella outdoors to shade our very pale toddler because it was too windy. Five minutes later, the same person opens an umbrella for an elderly couple that was being seated.

I went here before my trip to China for a really good burger ( so I could remember it if a crave a burger in China ) I got their St Patricks day burger battle special or something some of the topping I dont like so I ordered them on the side. the burger itself was amazing and combined with horseradish sauce ( which I normally dislike ) it was fantastic the only reason Im giving this 4 stars is because we had to wait a little to be seated which makes sense figuring how delicious they are

Going to the Gold Nugget Tavern was a wonderful experience . Our server was wonderful she always had a smile on her face . When if something went wrong she was there to help . Even the Bar Tender was a Jolly fellow , We had a few laughs with him. The sauce they put on their salmon/potatoes is just the right amount of sweet and savory . If you ever get fries make sure to get the cheese sauce its warm , cheesy and delicious. Finally the bathroom is actually really nice .

Gold Nugget is a gem in a part of town that needs it. To many subpar restaurants on the far west side of the cities, but Gold Nugget stands out. The staff is one of the best all around restaurant staffs from chef to waitress. Great service, and give great recommendations. The food is amazing, and the head chef makes sure that the menu never gets stale. Always evolving, and improving. If you live nearby, its in your best interest to give this place a try.

Last night was my 1st visit and most likely my last. Being a server myself I do understand when it’s busy the service might take a little longer than usual. BUT I am sorry an hour for some app’s and with the servers attitude I was very unhappy. Everyone around us seem to get their food with no problem. I guess a sorry from him would have been just what I was hopping instead we got a “Whatever” not a place I would recommend!!

I have been going here since it reopened and I have never been disappointed. The food is great and the service is better! The manager and many if the staff remember frequent customers. Their burgers are high quality, especially their Juicy Lucys, and their appetizers are superb. It has the atmosphere of a sports bar with the comfort of a family restaurant. I would recommend Gold Nugget to anyone for lunch or dinner.

Mediocre food. My burger was about 16$ as i recall and came out with cold melted cheese, room tempature patty which was requested medium rare or "pink", and I received fully done. It is a bar, so if you like to drink do so first and maybe the food will be better. I probably sound like a food snob but i worked in the industry for along time and i am pretty forgiving, this was honestly just not good.

I went last night with a party of 4. The whole experience was amazing! From appetizers to the sandwiches, burgers, and salads everything was wonderful. The menu has a large variety of options.Lots of interesting twists on classics. All the sauces and dressings were home made and delicious. Really nice outside seating in the summer. The inside is very large with really fun, atsmosphere

Burger a Week
A favorite local hangout for a burger. I like the kobe burger with simple toppings. It allows you to taste the beef because isnt that what a burger is all about. But if youre looking for a specialty burger try the Stadium Burger. One of the original burgers to use a pretzel bun before everyone else. Great microbrews on tap as well as a fun and unpretentious setting.

Great service and everything we ordered was so well prepared. The Pasta Bolognese I had was really meaty with a subtle garlic taste and a delicious silky feel. My friends said their burgers were excellent as well. Theres nothing else like this place so I think the price is justified. It can be really crowded but the experience is worth the wait.

One of the best bar food places in the Hopkins/Minnetonka area. The have a burger battle every week with unique burger combinations. Cheese curds that could rival the state fair. The restaurant is always clean and tidy. Service is fast and pleasant. Outdoor patio is really nice if its nice out. I love going to the gold nugget.
