I had an unpleasant experience when I visited Vicinity coffee on a Saturday afternoon. I had a Groupon to use for $5 and the cashier seemed extremely irritated with me as she didnt know how to redeem the coupon at the register. When I received my drink it was a luke-warm, watery Chai latte that was not enjoyable at all. My boyfriend ordered a latte. When they made his drink they made a vanilla latte and kept yelling vanilla latte and staring at him. He didnt realize this was his drink and we ended up leaving without anything.

Very nice building but Vicinity Coffee has really gone down the tubes. They used to have decent 3rd wave coffee but now have regressed back to 2nd wave grade. Theyve followed the Starbucks led drive to the bottom by completely burning the complexity and taste out of their beans. If you want a cup of charred carbon and youre in the neighborhood, they maybe your best choice. The Canteen however, which is only a couple blocks away, would be a better choice if youd like to actually taste some coffee in your coffee.

My first visit, and I really like this place! The staff was passionate and knowledgeable, and it was great chatting with them. Great espresso, very smooth...manually and artfully made in keeping with their philosophy of balance that the barista talked about. Try the Boones Beard! I had it with almond milk and really enjoyed it. It was different and wonderful. I will be back!

I personally am not a fan of smoky espresso tones, I like pure the pure taste of coffee. I also ordered a 16 oz latte and, due to their limited selection of bakery items, I had to order a doughnut. The total came to $9.60. The doughnut wasnt fresh. A + on atmosphere and sound levels. Would be a great place to relax or get some computer work done or read a book.

Coffee is solid here and the seasonal drinks are a good bet.Their Chai Latte stands out among most others. Its a versatile atmosphere for studying, chatting, or just relaxing. Generally a quiet crowd who appreciates the peace for studying and low conversation. Service has been increasingly worse over the last year, so dont expect speed or friendliness from the baristas

Nice place to have informal business meetings or study or chat. Architecture is pretty cool with the hardwood floors and filigree ceiling tiles. I think thats what its called. Bathroom is clean and spacious. Plenty of seating, too. I think they could use more food options. They do sell bags of coffee and snack foods. Located at an intersection so its easy to find.

It was good. Not impressed with selection of one bean for pour over and it being a "medium to dark roast" and only clever drip immersion. The signature drinks are great and unique. *you should try them* :) Not as much of the substantive coffee culture I like and the vibe is a little too quiet. If you are studying for school, this would be a great place.

Good, but the owners refused to honor gift cards and told me tough luck after they moved to a new POS system when our cards were issues from the older system. Talk about a way to piss off a customer over $9 left on a gift card. Soured my experience and now I tell everyone to go to Five Watt instead (owners there are kick ass!).

Cozy coffee shop that just got a bit bigger. I havent spent an afternoon there since the expansion but it looks great in there. The baristas have been very friendly every time Im in and the espresso drinks are pretty phenomenal. With free refills and 2 dollar off bags of bean on Tuesdays what is there not to love?

It was really good, but $5.39 wasnt really worth the tiny latte that I got. The Internet is slow as well, and they didnt offer free refills on black coffee..$0.50 each after I had already paid $5. However, there is ample seating.

Great place to study, the music isnt too loud, there is plenty of space, and the drinks are pretty good too. No AC on hot days makes it a kind of humid, though not a deal breaker for me. Try the Mischief Maker Chai, its tasty!

Drinks and environment are great, however the internet is notoriously unreliable. Ive had to leave and move to a different coffee shop simply because I couldnt connect to the internet. Staff advice is to restart your computer.

Came for the coffee, house blend is above average so 4 stars. Menu doesnt say whether other coffee roasts are available daily, nor whether you can request a particular brew method other than drip. Had a great muffin also.

a little over priced, coffee was good but the customer service need a little Polishing. They are polite but it feels like they dont wanna be there and they make you feel like they are doing you a favor for being there.

Coffee was good but overpriced and a very limited menu. One of those places where they dont list prices for pastries. The space is beautiful but full of hipsters staring at their computers. Probably wont come back.

Nice staff, delicious coffee, cute little Shop! The menu is small but its got what you need. Latte, Americano, cold brew, ect. With a few flavor options! They also sell coffee beans! Certainly worth the stop!

Great espresso -- deep, smooth, full-flavored without kicking you in the teeth. Really nice baristas too. They know their stuff, but they arent the slightest bit snooty. Even the music is good. Love it!

Great location. Great interior. Friendly staff. Amazing treats from the local french Patisserie 46. One of my favorite options in town for locally roasted, single origin coffee. I highly recommend this.

Cozy place with fantastic coffee and great pastries. The people watching is good, and the WiFi is fast. The music is generally quieter and relaxing. Perfect for a day of working, studying, reading.

Not a bad shop! Interesting vibe, staff wasnt too friendly but were polite. Vibe was definitely a little funny and the counter felt more like a wall between the staff and the rest of the room

Been here only once, but just moved to the neighborhood and will be coming back very often! The staff were very friendly, the coffee is great and it is nice and quiet. I would recommend 10/10

Fabulous cappuccino, and the drink called Kick in the Nutz is out of this world - like a mocha, but better! They use milk from grass fed cows, and that is one of the differences in flavor.

Nice coffee shop. The space isnt very memorable and their normal brew coffee is a bit over priced relative to other Minneapolis offerings. Chai is good although, a bit inconsistent.

Absolutely my favorite next-wave coffee shop going. Being serious about their drinks and espresso – and they are – doesnt get in their way of being friendly in the least.

Super friendly people. Good coffee drink (Kick in the Nutz) and scone, but nothing memorable. Confusing prices. Some drinks are priced as 12 oz, others are 8 oz.

Loud obnoxious music the day I came. Not ideal for studying/getting work done. Even with earplugs in. Decent tea though, and as another mentioned, ample seating.
