This was the worst dining experience of my life. I am a server and have been in the restaurant business for awhile and this was the most ridiculous thing that has ever happen to me. I got a drink at this restaurant. I asked for suggestions but the server told me she doesnt drink, which is fine but should know what to say when this question is asked. I got a $10 drink, a Apple Whisky Ginger. It came back and tasted like pure whisky, which is fine but I wasnt looking for a whisky on the rocks in the middle of day really. I then found a DEAD BUG in my drink. The waiter came over and got the drink. No manager came to apologize and they didnt offer me anything. She did mention that the drink was taken off the bill. I asked for Spider sushi roll. They gave me a Spider role without Masago. The server tried to lie to me literally said there isnt Masago in the role. Then she said its in the mix, Masago is bright orange fish eggs. She then went and got a menu and literally said there isnt supposed to be Masago in it. I asked to see the menu, she gave it to me and I pointed to "Spider role" which showed the ingredients which included Masago in the role. She told me "oh oops, new chefs." After this I decided to ask for the manager who I guess doubled as a server. She told me that they have people who come and clean. I told her I understand that but there was a dead bug in my drink.. and that I could have drank it. She told me there was nothing she could do and that they took the drink off. Then the "Manager" came over and gave me a gift card which she said was for next time, I asked to use it for this meal. The gift card was $5.00. We paid $30.00 for this meal, no plates or waters were refilled. I expected more, if this would have happened at my restaurant the manager would have immediately come over and given multiple free meals.

As a sushi guru I have been looking for my new go to place in Minneapolis. So far, this place is in the lead! If you are a fan of sashimi they have some of the freshest I have tasted in Minnesota (I used to live near a fish market in Japan). The specialty rolls are all great. My favorite one so far is the Salmon Family roll. The cooked food is also pretty good and if you are interested in trying squid that is prepared pretty well, try the squid ginger yaki. I was very disappointed with the beef tataki given the price. They have Toro (fatty tuna) here as well which was pretty average compared with other sushi restaurants in the U.S. I am a huge fan of ordering take away from here. Trying to find parking near this place is a nightmare. Youll probably end up paying to park in a ramp. The waitstaff are in a very big hurry to get you in and out of the restaurant even if it is not busy. Although she was very nice, I had to explicitly tell my waitress that we planned to stay awhile (and the place was not busy) If I am dropping over $100 on a meal it is not unreasonable to want to sit and enjoy it over an hour. In short: great food, highly recommend as take away or ordering through Bite Squad. Im not sure going there in person is worth the bother.

Did not enjoy this. I know from ramen, Ive had many excellent ramen dishes in the Twin Cities. So when I saw Haiku was offering some new bowls of ramen (couldnt find them on the menu, just the sandwich board outside), I had to try them. The service in Haiku was cold and disinterested, despite my showing up half an hour before the lunch rush. The interior looks very nice, and I was seated by the window on a lovely spring day. I ordered the pork ramen and it showed up fairly quickly. Here, heartbreak set in as I was faced with a flavorless broth, instant noodles, a strange mix of broccoli and summer squash and two halves of overdone hardboiled eggs, lost somewhere in the bottom rather than resting attractively on top and a little runny. Its like the chef dumped in whatever ingredients were on hand. The pork was thinly sliced and cooked tough, with too much gristle in every other piece. I think this is the only restaurant meal I have ever walked away from in my life. I ate about a third of it before I grew too depressed, and simply paid my bill to seek a snack elsewhere. The rest of their menu must necessarily be better than their ramen.

Most of the sushi, the eel, salmon and tuna were delicious however the California roll was soggy. I asked for seaweed salad instead of garden salad and they bring a garden salad topped with a seaweed salad. It through off the flavor of the seaweed salad and wasnt very good. I wasnt asked if I wanted dessert and I knew I wanted to try the mango mochi since that was the only flavor I have not tried. And the mochi crumbled when I ate it and its suppose to be chewy. They did give me the money back on a gift card for the dessert but the service was pretty poor too! I have been to the other location and my experience was much better last time.

Love this place! We started going for lunch when they opened, and their lunch specials are solid and affordable. Went here for dinner the other night and was really impressed! The $22 sashimi dinner (typical piece for this at area restaurants) was served in a big seashell bowl of crushed ice with willow branches and other garnish. 15 extra large pieces of sashimi were garnished with a big pile of pickled ginger and the strongest wasabi Ive ever had. The service was excellent, and the design of the interior is unique. Give it a try!

The service was extremely impressive! I ordered "hibachi salmon" and it came with a simple salad that is complemented with a tasty dressing to form an awesome duo. The onion soup that came with the salmon was also simple but I havent had any better onion soup, it was perfect. The salmon itself was great but not extraordinary. I was introduced to the "fried ice cream" here, and although its name might be misleading, the dish itself is extremely creative and delicious!

Terrible service and even worse manager. Had to wait 10 minutes before finally someone came over to take our order. When after 15 minutes we didnt see our server we asked the next person we saw if we were gonna get our drinks. Turns out it was the manager. They just shrugged their shoulders and said that is too bad and walked away. Finally after another 5 mins went by and we still hadnt gotten our drinks or food so we left.

We received outstanding service from our waitress during the lunch hour with our large group - she was attentive, prompt, and kept our beverages (largely waters) refilled. Also dealt with all the separate checks really efficiently. The food is always very good - standard Japanese menu with hibachi, bento-style boxes, and sushi.

Legal e descolado! O atendimento é descontraído e cortês. O sushi é bacana, se come bem peça o box. O frango com molho agridoce muito bom.
