Well desperate for some Vietnamese food and unable to get a sitter to be able to head up to our usual spots on University we decided to give this place a try. It occupies the old space of Que Viet in Eagan which was known amongst locals as being really bad Vietnamese cuisine. Having called and satisfied that it was different owners and a new restaurant we decided to give it a go. I am not a big PHO person and from what I read their PHO is excellent so if that is what you seek then certainly a worthwhile venture. We ordered the eggrolls, curry chicken, chicken and potatoes and sweet and sour chicken and pork lomein for the kids. (Yes we eat so much Asian food that our 1 and 4 year old love it too) Those of you that have been eating out at Vietnamese places for a while kind of know that there are two types of places. Back in the eighties in the cities a place like Classic Saigon is pretty much what you found everywhere...good flavors with questionable meat quality. Well its not quality per se its more of a commitment from the owner of authenticity which means chopping up the meat off the bone into mixed chunks. Yes this is most like what you would find in Vietnam and the mix of dark and white meat offers some advantages in flavor. That being said we both just found the meat to be grizzly, chewy and sadly uneatible. The eggrolls were good for a suburban joint and the lomein without the pork was delicious. The chicken and potatoes were okay but largely because that is our favorite dish. Compared to most again it fell short due to the meat quality and excess oil on the potatoes. The curry chicken was awful and thrown away and the sweet and sour wasnt far behind it. So while I appreciate the absurdity of my notion that because it is more authentic it is not as good but the meat was just really really bad. If you cant make it to University and find yourself in the southern metro Cam Rahn Bay by the Burnsville Center still is by far your best bet.

I came here because the review of this restaurant cause I want some pho. ( Im out of state) it review wasnt bad too. So me, my husband and my 2 years old came here to try there pho.Wasnt like how every one view in here at all. The pho portion was so little that my 2 years old could finish it and it cost $9.99 for that bowl of pho ( Very small portion) Im a pho lover and I eat pho where I go. It just too little of a portion for that price range. The waiter didnt give us napkin. I also order number 19 to go to, so when I saw that they over charged for that bowl of pho and it so little I know right away that my to go food, the meat is going to a tiny meat too. YES! It was a very tiny meat! It cost 13.99 for that. The meat was as big as my three fingers only! ( Im Asian and Asian woman have small hand) Can u believe that. I been to a lot of Vietnamese restaurant and that is just not worth of my money. I paid $50 for all those food and I not even full. I so disappointed, I should have went to the sushi bar next 3 door down. I will never come again. Also the waiter wasnt friendly to us cause were Asian, I dont know why. I saw him greetings all other white people that come in there very nice with a smile. I never go again.

This was the most horrible, awful experience at a restaurant I have ever had. DO NOT GO HERE! The waitress never smiled once. I asked if they had Kung Pao Chicken, and she told me NO, even though they had a picture up on the wall showing it! She stated that its a Chinese dish, were a Vietnamese place. I asked for an extra side of rice, and the rice they gave me had a very distinct burnt flavor, like it had been sitting too long in the cooker. The dish also only had four small pieces of chicken in it. This dish cost almost $11.00. I can get twice this much food for the same cost at other places. So I went back, and kindly explained the situation and asked them to replace it. They refused, told me to go home and get my old dish and bring it back to prove it, that I was lying. Also, when I did talk to the waitress, I asked her if she didnt enjoy her job. She stated its a family business, and shes been there a long time, and it gets old after a while. I told her that a positive attitude goes a long way. She still didnt smile. Dont go here, ever. Trust me. I have never once in my life had a place tell me that Im a liar and refuse to replace something. Theyre never getting my service again.

Hard to say something positive with our first and last experience here. With a four star rating i expected more despite some (very) poor reviews. First off the take out pho had raw meat packaged with the bean sprouts, two slices of jalepeno, three leaves of basil and one half of one slice of lime. I had to cook my pho which depending on your situation may be difficult or impossible but surely isnt easy take out. It did taste good according to me but my wife thought it was off. The stir fry with noodles included very soggy and disgusting penne noodles which was very odd and no one went back for a second bite. The lo mein tasted just like the disgusting stir fry. How do you screw up lo mein?? You must be trying to suck. The cream cheese rangoons were so soggy greasy and the cream cheese is unflavored in any way. 0/5 stars Finally the egg rolls. Although the crispy coating is genius the insides are sloppy rice noodle and carrot mess that was on par with the rest of the meal. All in all the worst $50 spent on an asian takeout in Eagan and that says a lot!

The food was really good. I ordered a "hot and sour soup", which really was a sweet and sour soup. Fish is traditionally used in the dish, which is a big plus for me that they incorporated that into it. It could have used a little more sour in it, but hey nothing is perfect! I love the use of pineapples and beansprouts to soak up the broth. Tastes similar to how my family makes it (although nothing beats a home cooked meal). My only complaint, is that an extra bowl of rice is 2 dollars. And the amount of rice I received was pretty small to finish a large soup like that. Typically a family would eat a big bowl of soup, with more people who each have a small bowl of rice. One person wont be able to fully enjoy the soup, without more rice (and the soup was already expensive to begin with) . And rice is dirt cheap to make. Food was good, could have been more rice. One star attributed to customer service and the environment (satisfactory), 2 out of 3 4 stars for the food. The 2 dollar small bowl of rice really killed the experience for me.
