They Didnt have the room we had reserved, said they couldnt find the key. We were accommodating and took a different room, it had a way smaller Jacuzzi tub. It turned out it didnt matter it didnt work anyway. pubic hairs in the sink when we went into the bath room, they must have cleaned the toilet with the a rag and then did the sink with the same rag gross! I cleaned it myself had a 1/2 of a burned burger at the Current restaurant ended up leaving and going home what a waste of money I tried to be cordial by taking a different room cleaning up the pubic hair left in the sink and not complaining, It upset my girl friend and turned the night bad not all your fault, but wrong room, mess in bathroom and tub that wouldnt fill with water is on your establishment. This is where the whole problem started , just because the room was a gift doesnt mean you shouldnt do your job, and provide the services paid for, I think theres a lot of guys out there that would try not to make a big deal of what happened like I did. Changing rooms and cleaning up the mess, If you feel that none of what happened is the fault of your establishment blame it all on me. I dont care but If you feel that you did not properly service your guests refund a fair to amount the person who bought the gift and I will delete my post Take responsibility for your failures

We stayed at the Afton House on 8/6/2017. This place is really in need of a full update. We pulled the drape next to the sliding door back to find a 3 ft wide x 8 ft tall piece of unfinished drywall. There was water damage on the ceiling. The towel rack finish was completely worn away due to water exposure. The chair had a large chunk missing from one of the legs. The light switch and outlet in the bathroom were discussing with smudges. The switch for the bathroom fan was actually broken off. How is that even possible? I looked through the visitor guide book they put together and found radio stations listed that went off the air in the 90s. My guess is that was the last time they spent any money on this place. I can understand some general wear and tear, but this was inexcusable for the price they are charging. What cant be captured in the photos is the horrible bed and nasty breakfast with waterlogged eggs (most likely not real eggs), cold sausage and dry/stale cinnamon rolls. Do yourself a favor and stay somewhere up the road in Stillwater.

Great location but the room and breakfast left much to be desired. We stayed late summer 2016 and there was moderate rain overnight and that resulted in the roof leaking multiple spots inside our room (we were awoken by an audible dripping into a puddle on the floor). The owner apologized and said "thats normal maintenance" for an older building (they offered a 50% refund). Breakfast was average at best -- something along the lines of a run-of-the-mill hotel chain. If youre looking for a "homemade-style" breakfast this isnt for you.

We stayed @ the Inn on 7/7/17. Walked into our room and it was blazing hot in there. We made reservation the day before so no reason for it to have been that warm. We did eat supper at the Inn, food was very good, a little overpriced, but good. The downfall to our dinner sitting outside was the servers walked right by us to go smoke. Our server did to 2 or 3 times, he was too busy taking brakes that we asked another server for another drink. Over all very disappointing for the price, and service.

Old world charm and fantastic service! We had a jacuzzi suite with a fireplace and patio. Located in Afton, MN it is the oldest running inn in MN and it was beautiful. Its right along the St. Croix river so it had stunning views and the town is quiet and absolutely charming! I will definitely stay again. Already planning next visit. While the town of Afton is small it os located mear several towns that are not short on things to do. Would recommend the Afton Inn to anyone looking for a get away.

We did the table-side cooking for all courses and this lost art really turns the night into such a memorable experience. We did the table-side caesar salad, the table-side flaming steak diane and the table-side flaming cherries jubilee. All amazing. A night we will remember forever. If youre in a relationship you must bring your partner here for dinner and then stay overnight in rooms 1 through 8 which are the newest rooms all with a double jucuzzi in the room.

I called The Afton House to make a reservation and sadly Kathy Jarvis , who answered the phone at The Afton House was terribly rude. She interrupted me several times, and had a very negative, rude tone. She created a negative image of that place for me so much so that I dont even want to stay there! I didnt pursue the reservation! The first impression created for me by Kathy Jarvis was so negative that I chose not to stay there!

The room was lovely and a good size, although the bathroom is tiny with no counter space. The beds are huge and very comfortable. An upscale continental breakfast is included and there are there restaurants on site with different focuses and atmospheres... all with amazing food. Walls are paper thin though, you hear everything from the neighboring rooms, outside, and downstairs. Staff were mostly friendly but seemed over stretched.

Ari, who was working at the front desk made our stay as convenient for us as possible. She was very knowledgeable about the history and was very professional. Our room was in the newer side of the inn and was comfortable, but the bed in my companions room was on the older side of the hotel and less comfy. I recommend requesting a newer room for those with sleeping issues.

The Afton House is where old country chic and high end food and drink meet. We attended a wedding which had the ceremony outside on the grounds and the reception in the main reception room. The food was dynamite every meal we ate and the staff was very courteous and helpful. Definitely recommend it all around.

Afton House Inn is an old river town restaurant with class and style, as well as a great view of the St. Croix. The food was excellent and the service was friendly and helpful. We went for Fathers Day brunch, and I would recommend it to others and go again.

very nice rooms, cozy fireplaces, perfect whirlpool and love the simplicity of it all. Food is pretty average, The Current was priced a bit higher than what I would have though but we enjoyed our stay nonetheless. The room is what made it enjoyable.

Il cibo non era molto buono, niente fresco, niente sano. Tutto da un sacco.

The Thanksgiving buffet was great. The servers were quick to respond to our questions and take drink orders. The buffet was also well attended to and there was never stale or missing items.
