First time ordering from here and it will be THE LAST. I ordered the standard chicken fried rice, nothing special. When I got home I noticed there werent any vegetables at all. So I figured that maybe this is how they make theirs so I have it a try. When I bit into the chicken it was mushy and didnt have the same texture as chicken. I looked around the box and I noticed several cubes that looked like tofu! So I called asking if they mistakenly made my order with tofu and the guy informed me that they used pre-cooked chicken and that they dont have peas and they dont put vegetables in their fried rice. He offered to remake it but it was not what I expected. So I took it back to the restaurant and spoke with the manager or owner. I let her know it was not what I expected and that I didnt feel comfortable eating this mystery meat. She replied "Ohh so you wanted REAL chicken??" I said YES, I wasnt aware you had alternative chicken on your menu. She looked at the container with hesitation and I informed her the box was full and I wasnt going to eat any of it. She refunded my money and then asked me "youre not from here are you?" I replied no with caution because Im not sure where she was headed with this question. She said because people from around here know what we serve and we never have problems. We normally dont refund money, and when I responded she started yelling at me "goodbye have a good holiday bye BYEEE, I give you your money now BYE." She was extremely rude and provoking and I dont care what people in this neighborhood are used to eating. If I order chicken, shrimp, beef or whatever thats what I expect to get. Not your add water science experiment mystery meat. So yes mam, I do want REAL CHICKEN, and I will gladly go to another restaurant that will provide me exactly that. If this is top 10 in Westland then that is really sad!

I have to say that after reading numerous reviews I thought I must try the China Star Palace. I was extremely disappointed when I went to order the Hot & Sour soup and found out I could not order just a cup of soup. What is up with that?? Then when I ordered my Sesame Chicken I recd something with a very heavy paste type sauce that had no sesames on it and had no flavor. Then the owners not only were they shucking pea pods on the table next to us but they also were taking money from customers and busing tables to return to the pea pods without washing their hands (I watched in disbelief). It makes me wonder what goes on in the kitchen. The service was fast though I will give them that!

This was bad, It took 10 minutes after being seated in an empty restaurant for someone to take our drink orders. I got iced tea and my dad got hot tea, both were incredibly bland, like slightly bitter water. The soup was also bland and needed a ton of salt which is ironic because the entrees had no flavor except overwhelming salt. Even the red curry my dad ordered to be as spicy as possible, was just plain bland (aside from the salt). The only positive thing I can say is that the fried rice was not bad and the vegetables were mostly not overcooked. I strongly recommend you skip this restaurant and check out one of the much better places just a few miles away.

I have been coming here for 4 years usually about once a month, maybe a little more. Today I came in and got the SAME EXACT ORDER I GET EVERY TIME. Sweet and sour dinner extra sauce and pepper steak dinner with $2 extra pepper steak. Got home, there was no sauce on the sweet and sour chicken and there was barely any pepper steak. Brought it all back up here just for them to bring the same amount back to me. Never again will I ever come here. Customer service is a joke.

Positively one of the worst experiences i ever had walls have food splatter all over them eggroll was dry soup looked and tasted like it was at least a day old they got my order wrong and when i received what I ordered my rice was cold. Not once was I asked how was my experience when I asked for the check and said that this was a very disappointing experience the waitress ignored me and walked away. I will never come back and dont recommend you to try.

This is the best place for Chinese Food I have ever been and I have tried A LOT of different places across the country! I have been eating here for 37 years and its still my favorite place to eat on the planet. The staff is wonderful and friendly and they always greet me as if I were family! It has plenty of gluten free and vegetarian options as well!!! So If you like Chinese Food you definitely should try China Star Palace!!!

My fiance and I just moved to the area and we figured wed try this place out. We ordered the crab rangoon and ChickenPad Thai.. The pad Thai was made with the wrong sauce and noodles so I thought I had gotten the wrong dish entirely. It tasted nothing like Pad Thai! The crab rangoon was really bad, the quality overall we pretty poor. It was normal Chinese food but we got a lot of food so I gave them 2 stars.

Worst Chinese food ever.... first time I went the I got general chicken and I thought it was soggy or something because the sauce and taste wasnt too good. Tried it again to see if it would be better without the sauce and that idea was even worse because they dont bread the chicken at all like every other Chinese place does I got a refund I didnt even try a bite...Ill never get food from here again...

By far the most awful food Ive ever eaten. I ordered from there today. I got $30 worth of food from them and I had to put it all in the trash. The rice tasted and smelled like it was very very old. The chicken was extremely dry. From the small bit of food I ate i have an extremely bad stomach ache. I called to ask them for a refund and they were very rude. DONT EAT HERE EVER!!!!!

Watch your food. I ordered a few vegetarian egg rolls and a pint of vegetable chop suey. Everything was great until we got to the chop suey. It had a large number of gnats or small fruit flies cooked into it. When I brought the food back for a refund they wanted to argue over the price of the egg rolls and inferred I was lying about the bugs. Good luck if you choose to eat here

I had my daughters birthday party over this place and the private banquet room was really nice and recently renovated. The staff was friendly, the food price is decent and the food taste is really authentic Chinese. They would not have stayed open for 37 years if the food, ambiance, and customer service was bad so I would recommend this place.
