I wanted to like it. Unfortunately I think it was the worse I ever had as it was inedible. I ordered the Generals Chicken. The sauce was almost non-existent and that was a good thing because it was like glue. I like to put sauce on my rice and since this rice was so dry and tasteless I tried it and could barely scrape a spoon of sauce off the bottom of the container and it stuck to the spoon (glue, get it). The chicken looked good but, it was also dry and overcooked. The egg roll was unrecognizable on the inside and looked liked mystery ingredients. I have no idea what was inside. There was definitely no bean sprouts. It was very mushy on the inside and my best guess would be mushed up broccoli. The outside was crisp but, the wrap was also mushy on the inside. Ugh, desperate since I was hungry I ate it and that was about it. The place was very clean and neat and the clerk/cashier very pleasant. The prices are very reasonable and the portions a very good size. Unfortunately, not a good value since the food was inedible. I tried this place based on the good reviews and really am perplexed at such a wide disparity in the reviews. Honestly, I thought I may give it another chance but, I wouldnt even know what to try. I am still hungry...my take out container still full. Yuck

I have to disagree that this a a good place to go. We got general chicken and singapore noodle, along with egg drop soup and spring rolls. The soup was ok, the spring rolls were standard. The sauce spicing was a bit sweeter on the generals chicken than we typically see, but the noodles were inedible! Seriously, the spicing was (requested medium spicy) horrible. Not in a too hot way, in a not-nice flavor way, like someone just forgot to put the seasoning in. It was worst on the shrimp in the dish (!), but the unpleasant taste spread through the whole container. We will not be eating from here again.

I moved away from this spot recently and tried other Chinese food places around me but none of the other places Ive tried compares. There are 4 Chinese food places by me but I literally drive 15 minutes out the way every time I have a craving for some. I always order the same thing, Pepper Steak or the General Tso dinner and a side order of crab rangoon, and they always make it right! The only item I was ever dissatisfied with was the low mein, the noodles were thin and the sauce tasted like gravy. Other than

Ordered take out from China gate. Most items were below average! Fried rice were stone cold and tasted no different than steamed rice. Many reviewer suggested that menu prices are reasonable .. Which I also agree with...but there are couple other options nearby, which serves edible chinese food at similar prices too... Bottom line: I havent tried all items on their menu so I cant criticize for every thing. But I would definitely advise against fried rice and chop suey !!

There isnt a Chinese take-out place in Westland that I would consider Excellent but when I am visiting Westland, I always get Chinese take-out from China Gate. The quality is good, its not too greasy. The prices are fair and the portions are great. With this in mind, I highly recommend ordering out from here if you really have a hankering for the fried style Chinese take-out so many locals seem to love.

This is the best Chinese restaurant in the Westland area. Their Lo Mein leaves a lot to be desired (it is more like ramen in cream of chicken soup), but everything else is fantastic! Plus, you cannot beat the price for the quality. Best value, best tasting.

You get nice portions, but the food has no taste/flavor, its very bland. My fiance ordered shrimp in lobster sauce & it waa watery/soupy. I ordered chicken lo mein & it wasnt good at all.

I am not sure what this place was attempting to make, however, what i ordered was a creative ( in a bad way) on very easy dishes. I will not be going back to this place anytime soon.

Everyone has their own opinion on Chinese food. This one is my favorite! Love the combo dishes, get fried rice, egg roll with more than a generous entree. Taste is the best.
