Well I hate to write derogatory reviews but when needed I feel obligated to do so. Wife, Mother, and I went to TVs Deli & Diner for dinner since we were in the area. Pulling up you could tell it was a family owned diner (which I like) but was fairly run down on the outside. Do I think looks make the quality of food? Not at all but cleanliness help my first impression and this was not. Upon entering, the staff was very nice but the impression continued. Stuff cluttered around the front desk, tables wiped off but not clean, and the menus were covered in filth! Its not hard... Menus need to be cleaned people!! Sitting at the counter was a young kid, probably in his 30s that was mumbling to himself and to others. He was def on some type of drug. He was sweating and started yelling profanity and the cooks and to the air. Eventually someone came over and asked him to be quiet but he should have been asked to leave a long time ago. Still looking forward to the food we ordered and we were not impressed. 2 of us ordered the "famous" lobster bisque and we were disappointed on how salty it was. Believe me; I like salt as much as the next person but this was unbearable. We didnt eat either of them. Wife ordered the mushroom swiss burger and was not impressed. It wasnt terrible but was not impressed. Mother ordered the fish. She did like the fish and said that she would order it again but probably by carry out only. I ordered the turkey Reuben and it was made with sliced turkey lunch meat. A family style dinner and you dont have any real turkey? French fries were good but when arent they?!?!?! With all that said I understand is a small dinner that keeps prices down by serving a particular type of food. I know this type of restaurant has it place but its not for me. The price is fair and the food is... ehh... maybe fair. My suggestion would be clean the place (top to bottom and often) and really specialize on a few dishes. I also suggest everyone try TVs for yourself because this review is my opinion and yours may be different.

Ive been going to TV diner since they opened. They used to be great, even catered my graduation party. Alas, I no longer hold the same opinion. After moving back downriver, my wife and I started frequenting TV diner again and discovered it had changed for the worse. We had several overpriced poor experiences in a row and decided to stop going about a year ago. Tonight we decided to give it another try. We ordered carry out. My wifes order was wrong and while cooked properly, my steak was unseasoned and bland. I called to get a refund for my wifes portion of the meal and was told to bring the food back. Upon arrival I was immediately told what she had ordered was no longer on the menu, the person who took the order was confused, which is why we received the wrong food. I found this explanation to be curious considering the receipt showed the order correctly, as we had ordered it. I mentioned the receipt and the manager told me that its something that they can still make despite not being on the menu. While I did get a refund for my wifes portion of the meal, and an apology for the error, no compensation was offered for the poor experience and time spent to rectify the situation. Furthermore the excuse the manager gave was unacceptable and contradictory at best. If its not on the menu and they dont make it anymore, fine, the person who took the order should have mentioned that when I placed the order. If they do still make it, I should have received what I ordered. If its as she told me, why even mention its not on the menu in the first place? Was she trying to shift blame? Finally why backpedal only when I pointed out the receipt? This experience left a bad taste in my mouth, no pun intended. I would no longer recommend this place, its overpriced and not very good.

We have been going to tv diner for a few years and loved the food, but the last few times the food wasnt as good and tonights service was very slow. Took for ever to get our sandwiches and we never got any of your wonderful bread or crackers to go with my husbands soup. We went for a early dinner to beat the rush being new years eve and we did beat the rush only about 5 other tables with diners when we where there and 4 waitresses. Sorry but I think it will be a long time before we come back and try your place or recommend your place to our friends or family seems like your quality and help is not as good as it used to be and wth so many reastraunts to choose from we will go where we feel welcomed

The food is always good. Order anything and youll love it. I did order today and was given the wrong food on a take out order. It may have been my fault too, i dunno, but they delivered it for free and wouldnt accept a tip. They even brought me a pepsi and i didnt even order that to begin with. I thought maybe my food would be bad though cause i ordered the scallop pasta. You know how seafood can be on a carry out, but it was still so tender and good. These guys are the best. I regularly eat here and now i am even more pleased with the customer service than ever before. Thanks, You guys rock.

Tried many soups here and they are all delicious. The Lobster bisque is awesome. A nice fresh salad with a wonderful citrus vinaigrette dressing. You cant go wrong with the daily specials on the menu or the specials on the board when you walk in. They do occasionally sell out if you dine after 6pm. The mac n cheese has that homemade comfort food taste. Their sandwich board has a great Reuben and I upgraded from french fries to the fried green beans for a fee. (Worth it) The servers are attentive and many have been there for years. TV Diner has reasonable prices and a frequent diner program.

Great food but not low calorie... have enjoyed the Cajun Chicken Salad for years ,except hate the mix of head lettuce with the mixed greens... My husband and I just pick out the nasty head lettuce. Would love to order your soups to go they are wonderful but putting hot soup in Styrofoam is a reaction that is a known carcinogenic. Wish you had an a chioce and could pay more for safe packaging and healthier lettuce... Would certainly get way more care out with healthier options.
