The service here is less than desirable. There were several times that we ran out of hot tea and would have to wait to ask for a refill and then continue to wait for the hot tea to be delivered. The restaurant should think about purchasing tea pots for the tables. Next, when we received our appetizers to share among everyone at our table we had to ask for plates. We then had to wait for a period of time for the plates, by this time the appetizers were not warm. Also the soup was delivered at the same time as the appetizers. This should have come after the appetizers to that one or both would not get cold. On a positive note the appetizers that we ordered, chicken satay, seafood rangoon and spring rolls were all very good. The hot and sour soup was also very tasty. For myself, I love a good red curry when I go to a thai restaurant. Here the red curry is just ok, just not flavorful enough. Last, we tried the fried ice cream that was an excellent way to cap off the lunch. Overall, due to the poor service and just mediocre at best curries, I would not return.

I read many reviews in trying to find a great Thai restaurant close to home. We decided to give Khom Fai a try. To make a long story short... we will NEVER go back. We ordered two dishes, Chicken Pad Thai and Vegetable stir fry. They both tasted EXACTLY the same. All we could taste was garlic and nothing else. Now, I like garlic as much as the next person but when eating Thai food its the blend of seasonings such as ginger, curry, red pepper, etc. that makes it delightfully delicious. From now on I will appreciate the longer drive to Sala Thai in Warren and Troy where they have the BEST Thai food. Yep, the hunt is over for finding anything as good as Sala Thai... we are tired of being disappointed.

My fiance and I recently dined at Khom Fai and part-owner and chef, Justin, made us a delicious and flavorful meal! It was chefs choice all the way and he created a wonderful food experience for us with shrimp fried rice, red curry, basil beef, pad thai with tofu and a thai basil & lime sorbet to cleanse our palettes afterward. It was a fantastic meal! Plus, the waitstaff was incredible: helpful, polite and attentive. Ive always greatly enjoyed dining at Khom Fai and after another spectacular experience Ill be singing their praises to anyone looking for a wonderful place to eat.

This is certainly my favorite Thai restaurant in the Detroit area. Among my top dishes are the spring rolls (definitely dip them in the sweet sauce, which is delicious) and the sweet broccoli noodles. I had a chance to sample their ice cream, as well, which was excellent, although Im not sure if its a long-term offering on the menu. Vegetarians can try asking for the crispy tofu, which my sister and brother-in-law love although its not on the menu. I have recommended and will continue to recommend this gem to friends.

Ive been going to this place for a while now and I always love it. The food is so good youll want to keep eating no matter how full you get. The ramen is the best ramen Ive had in a long time. The fact that they have a vegan menu is awesome! The spring rolls... well, lets be honest, Ive totally just gotten their spring rolls as a meal because theyre so good. The coconut soup is perfect. Overall, this is probably my favorite restaurant.

The front end manager is the friendliest, sweetest woman ever! All of the staff are so attentive and eager to please. The food is, without fail, always flavorful, pleasing to the eye, and more than enough to satisfy your Thai cravings and hunger. A goto spot for date night. The atmosphere is conducive to conversation and laughter. A small, intimate place, but perfectly decorated and clean. We love everything about Khom Fai Thai!

I dont know what the complaint about the service is from. Everyone has "off" days and as a server I understand. Ive always been greeted and filled with DELICIOUS Thai food. I was recommended to come here by my miss if I wanted to try some good food and I did! The portion size was perfect for lunch, and the knowledgeable waitstaff made ordering my food a BREEZE. I thoroughly enjoy the food, and I recommend it to anyone who asks.

I did try a few times but NO consistency in taste and quantity mostly every thing taste the same. Also very poor customer service every time I make a suggestion they take it very offensive. I decide not to go back any more! I am an old culinary school graduate even though I dont work in the food industry now! I am still looking for a good Thai restaurant in Shelby area. Because good Thai food is one of my favorite!

I tried the food based on recommendations from several other people and I was not disappointed. I was there about 3pm on a Friday and it was quiet. The staff was very friendly. The restaurant is very clean. The food though! Really delicious! They offer an entire vegan menu. I would highly recommend dining here. My only critique would be that I hope they switch their to-go containers, they currently use styrofoam.

This was my first time here and I enjoyed everything about it. The atmosphere is nice and so clean! We ordered the appetizer sampler, chicken red curry and the pad vegetable... it was all incredible! The curry was by far my favorite. I highly recommend this place. I cant believe Ive never been here. Also, it is hidden next to Hamlin Pub - almost couldnt find it. Definitely will be a regular at this restaurant!

Amazing Thai food! Love the atmosphere, the help is extremely friendly. The chefs/owners are genuinely happy with what they do and take pride in their work. The price is tantamount to the quality of food, including the portions! You wont be disappointed, I always take some home for snacking later too. Highly recommend, lunch, dinner, you name it, give it a try!

Khom Fai opened up in the strip mall I work in, in a spot that has been many things. I sure hope that this one is to stay as I plan to visit often! I am no Thai food expert (Ive probably been do half a dozen thai places in my lifetime) I have to say this is by far the best Ive ever experienced. Very fresh and flavorful food with very friendly staff. YUM indeed!

Ive visited Khom Fai 4 or 5 times now and have really enjoyed each experience. I especially love the soup that comes with lunch. The food is fresh, flavorful and the portions sizes are appropriate for the price. Atmosphere is nice, warm and clean. Staff Ive found to be personable and professional. One of the top 10 Thai restaurants in Metro Detroit. Well done.

Again supporting locally owned businesses in our community! They have a fantastic menu with great prices. Of course I love the common chicken pad thai but also try the red curry chicken or pad ginger beef for a change of pace! You will not be disappointed! And I know you usually think of thai as carry out, but they have a great atmosphere! Try dining in :)

Best Thai food around. No need to go anywhere else. Food is constantly delicious. Red cury dish is my go to. My husband tries something different each time and is always happy. Kids menu is great with good quality chicken strips. Service is outstanding with a very friendly staff!
