The worse experience ever!!! Ive been dining at this place for over 15yrs and my visit yesterday for my birthday was completely embarrassing and totally unsatisfactory!!! From start to finish!!! Started off waiting and wondering when were we going to get chips and salsa, ok no biggie, started with 3 drink orders 2 drinks come out and the 3rd drink come out literally 15 minutes later!!! Ridiculous! Like most restaurants now, u have to ask for water so no biggie on that part. However, things continue to go down hill! Our waitress got lost all evening! And remember this is my birthday gathering! I have invited ppl that are here for the first time. We begin odering one or 2 at a time so first order come right out, 2nd order took so long that my guest actually had time to leave out go to the gas station and come back and still no food!!! Ridiculous!!! Not to mention how nasty the floors were! Tables all around us were filthy not being cleared off, we finally flag our waitress down because she never ever not one time came to see if we need anything, refills, napkins, etc.. when I did ask for extra napkins it took over 30 minutes to get them! Ridiculous!!! Finally the second order come out and we proceed to finish the group orders one by one. After everyone has their meals, and finish eating here comes 2 bowls of refried beans that were suppose to come out with certain menu selections that were ordered!!! Beyond ridiculous!!!! Now to top off our extremely horrible experience, the waitress bring individual bills to the table with the original amount scratched out and she added a 22% gratuity fee to everyone bill!!!!! Utterly disappointed and disgusted at this point! First of all that should have been announced to me and my group upon ordering AND! No restaurant charges 22%!! So not only did our waitress NOT deserve that type of tip but she took advantage of my group!!! It took me 15 mins to speak to a manager because they couldnt find him! Then he states he wasnt really sure of what the standard gratuity is for groups because it was only his 2nd day on the job!! But said it should be 15%! I explained to him how everyone was ripped off by our disappearing act waitress! And that we deserved to be refunded our differences, he come back with $5 gift certificates for 3 out of the 12 ppl in my group!! Way to fix it!!! None of us will ever be back there again so that gift certificate meant nothing!!! This place has declined immensely!! The cooks! The servers! Our waitress! And the manager on duty Saturday evening all failed us! I hope the waitress that took advantage of our pocketbook spend wisely because nothing good comes to people that take advantage and deceive ppl!!! And managers that are aware that this happened should know how to handle the situation and that employee!!! We wont EVER patronize this establishment EVER AGAIN!!!!

I went here three times with my fiance and unfortunately each experience became significantly worse from the first time. The first time was great, our waitress was friendly and the food was good. The second time we went there they sat us in the cold, desolate back room even though there were tons of seats on the main floor. What made it worse was that the hostess (a young man) just brought us back there, threw the menus on the table and walked away without saying anything. Didnt even ask us if we wanted to be seated in the cold room away from everyone else. Also this back room was a place to where all of the waiters and waitresses would hang out and mess around without even paying attention to us. Was very displeased here. The third visit was about the same as the second, the hostess just threw us wherever and left without saying anything. We ended up having to ask the waitress to move seats. Very annoying, we will end up going to other Mexican restaurants for now on.

I have been coming to this resturaunt for years when I come to the area on business. Food is consistently tasty and the service is always top notch. I almost always get one of the burritos with either the queso or sour cream sauce. Lately Ive been experimenting and trying other Mexican restaurants in the area and have been disappointed in every one that i tried for one reason of another. Tonight, I came back to On The Border and it didnt disappoint. I will stop experimenting from here on out and will only come here in the future

Its not authentic mexican but who cares? Its awesome. They have the best sauces and food is really cheap for a sit down. Great chips. The salsa is too hot, should be a bit milder but its not a deal breaker. Drinks are expensive but their happy hour runs pretty late, until 6 I think? Theyre normally priced under those conditions. We had horrid service one time, some new guy, didnt put our order in, took like an hour to get food, but that was one time out of many and we got a meal compd. Generally their service is really good.

I am amazed at the reviews, maybe it was a bad day that I went. The wait staff were all really young and didnt seem to care. The chicken was DRY, the brisket tacos were gross and when they asked if everything was OK, and I told them no, the chicken is dry they said OK, I will see what I can do about that Both stayed on the bill, I paid, but I would NEVER go back again. I am usually a pretty positive reviewer, but if this saves some people from making the same mistake, I feel that I have done a public service.

The first thing youll notice here is the server gives everyone their own salsa dish with the complimentary chips and salsa. The service can be hit or miss depending on the server, but I personally have only had slow service once--not quite enough to deter me from going again. The food is above average for your typical Mexican food joint, and the prices are fair for that quality. Definitely a place worth checking out if youre in the mood for Mexican food.

We planned last minute for an office Cinco de Mayo party. I placed the catering order about 10 am that day, received plenty of great food on time, and our delivery driver was fantastic. Super helpful with setting everything up, chatted up all of the people in the office while he was here... Just a very friendly guy. Really enjoyed my On the Border catering experience and will absolutely do it again. So impressed, thanks again!

Absolutely excellent service. It was very obvious that Darius has a passion for his job. Though he zipped around the restaurant ensuring all his tables were taken care of, when he was at your table it was as though you were his only customers and you never felt rushed. We noticed that several other servers seemed to have the same passion as Darius. Definitely a place we will visit again.

Awesome! Wonderful! Fabulous! I had my "Bridal Brunch" Shower on May 17th. Matt the Manager and crew were Phenomenal. Everyone raved about the Bridal Brunch with Mimosas!! The food was great! Breakfast tacos, pancakes, and loaded potatoes. Chips and salsa of course. The banquet room was great wit great windows!! Wonderful place for parties!! Alice Reid :)
