This is by far my favorite Chinese food in Novi. I used to live down the street and crave this place! I tried many many dishes and I most all the time was totally satisfied! They have a nice big menu and they do everything spot on! If you want to dine in they have a large dining room and if you want to take out they are quick and efficient with that as well. They are always so nice and my experience with their staff has always been very pleasant. I love their sweet and sour, General Tso, Kung Pao all of it will satisfy your Chinese cravings! They are conveniently located on the corner and its easy to find. Nice big parking lot as its at the end of a strip mall. They close a little early like most Chinese spots so call early and get your order in so you dont miss out on this amazing Chinese food in Novi!

Every time I eat at China Cafe its a tasty new experience. Im a meat and potatoes kind of guy and its very difficult for me to eat outside of the box. the first time there i sat down and looked at the menu and was concerned that Id order something I wouldnt care for, therefore wasting money and walking away hungry. Needless to say I told the server what my tastes were and she said shed tell the chef (the owner and hed prepare something special. Well it was very special, now everytime I have friends in from out of town we visit China Cafe and ask them to surprise us. One of these friends is from Vancouver and was raised with Asian friends, he always wants insists that we go to China Cafe. Over the years Ive come to know Kelly and Suzanna as friends, they run a top notch place. 5 stars

Very good! Not your typical Chinese restaurant. They have some typical fare, but also an interesting variety. Even my vegetarian friend found interesting menu items. I had the coconut beef curry and I was very pleasantly surprised! The balance of spicy and sweet was great, the fried rice was perfect, not dry as at most places, and the chicken egg roll was delicious. The egg drop soup was not as bland as Im used to getting elsewhere, so that was an experience. The prices and service were also good at lunch time. The only thing I didnt like is that I had to use my cell phone cameras light to read the menu since it was pretty dark inside, especially for midday (dont understand this about some restaurants). However, they do have a lovely area to sit outside if it isnt too hot.

My husband and I decided to try this place out today based on everyones good reviews. We had a horrible lunch at this restaurant. We both ordered wonton soup (his was the spicy one and mine was regular), his soup was just horrible and mine was extremely salty. We also ordered the chicken pot stickers (fried), horrible. The pot sticker itself tasted like oil and the dipping sauce tasted like (as the French would say) "Je ne sais pas". The lunch entrees were both horrible. We ended up not finishing our lunch and leaving quickly. Additionally, the tables are oddly lower than usual. We were uncomfortable simply sitting there. We decided to give two stars because the waitress that served us was great, the water tasted great, and the bathroom was clean.

I will never go back to this place. Such poor customer service. I have become a regular here but that is over. On Tuesday I went to the restaurant at 2:47. I asked for lunch and they said lunch ended at 2:45, 3 minutes before I got there. They refused to serve me lunch. The waitress said we dont have the dish you always order anymore, we have a new menus. The new menu prices skyrocket, like the most expensive Chinese restaurant. also, they were extremely rude to me. I left the restaurant and went to another Chinese restaurant that were welcoming and accommodating. Im passing the word, and those that know me are always asking me where to eat, Ill make sure I mention where not to eat.

My co-workers and I eat here every Tuesday and Thursday. The Spicy Wonton Soup alone (served on these days) is worth the trip. If either Tracy or Nancy wait on you, you will feel like youre the only guest there. If for some reason they dont swing by, be assured that either Susana or Kelly will ensure youre beyond satisfied with everything. This is the only restaurant where everyone that works there learns to anticipate your needs - refills, beverage or your "usual" order, method of splitting the check, and anything extra you may have asked for the previous time (chili paste being ours!). If I could give this place 10 stars, I would!

Ive had some great Chinese food in my day (including House of Nanking in San Francisco) and unfortunately some bad Chinese food too. I am happy to report that China Cafe is among the great Chinese restaurants. My former co-workers and I love going to this place for some of the best Chinese food you can find in Metro Detroit. We all order a bunch of different dishes and share usually. Thats where I found my two favorites. Seriously, the Hawaiian Chicken is so sweet and delicious. The Mongolian Beef is just divine.

What a two-faced restaurant! I walked in(as a chinese-american) and all i saw were frowns, frowns , and more frowns. None of the servers even came by and asked how my meal was when the table next to mine(obviously two white, caucasian males) were asked several times. I asked to have my meal to be cooked a little longer b/c my meat was red, and they said that the meat is always like that(im surprised nonody had sued them for serving raw meat yet). Definately WILL NOT BE GOING BACK.

The food is good, and ambiance is good. It looks like there is a lot of five stars and 1 stars in the review, which makes me suspicious of all the reviews. Ive eaten there three times, all three experiences were good, one was with my wife who normally doesnt like Chinese food, and she liked it. I like the sizzling rice soup. The place has the best Chinese food Ive found so far in Michigan, but Ive only tried three or four spots. In Novi it is the best Ive found so far.

I sat down at the bar to order takeout. Everyone was so nice. I had a great conversation waiting for my food. I also got great hints on what to order next time. I was promised that the Ma Po Tofu I ordered was excellent. And when I got home, I was not disappointed! It was one of the best Ive tried. The Seafood Rangoon was also wonderful! In my short stay in the area, I will be back! I will also recommend it to all the locals!! Great takeout!!!

First time, Extremely good eggdrop soup very different than standard fare. Service was very good as was the atmosphere. I enjoyed General Taos chicken. The meal was great except for a few pieces of chicken that tasted old or reheated just off from the rest. It was good enough that I will try them again and make a decision if it will become a staple resteraunt.
