Exactly what Ive been looking for! A small family restaurant serving traditional American food! Their prices are fantastically cheap. I believe cheeseburgers are about 70 cents and chili dogs more like 1$. And for the price you get fairly decent food. I would much rather pay for the meals here than I would at a fast food restaurant. Their carry out service is fast and Im always out in 5-8 minutes. Theyve also correctly filled every single one of my complicated orders so kudos to these guys! The only downside is that its cash only (and the nearest ATM is inside of the CVS). But their lack of a credit machine is what keeps the food so cheap! I was also told by the waitresses here that this place is owned by a man in his late eighties/nineties who still works hard every day: even more reason for me to support this business!

Im not going to say this is my worst experience ever, but it was definitely poor. The three ladies behind the counter were dismissive, never cracked a single smile, and had attitudes as if we, the customers, were inconveniencing them. Whoever was working the register kept walking away in the middle of talking to me so she missed part of the order. We waited 26 minutes for 8 cheeseburgers, then another 9 minutes for some fries because they missed that part of the order. The extra time we waited for the fries resulted in the burgers turning into piles if slop in the bag. I stopped here because I though it would be a quick innout with good food -- it wasnt either. I could go to White Castle for that level of service and a sit down restaurant for the time it took. I dont visit very often as it is, and this visit reminds me why.

If you are from the Metro area then you would understand this eatery better.....Yes for late night alcohol dousing this is the mecca of places to go!!!! at 3:30am there is nothing better anywhere within 50 miles!!!!! The grease is what you pay for, (hence why it is a greasy spoon) so if you are stupid enough to show up there looking for gourmet food and service then a let down is in store for you, but if you want vintage, tradition, and a food that has established itself for decades this is an iconic place to grab some sliders, coneys, and fries. I go down there every 6months just for the brown greasy paper bag and will alway rave up and down about the food. AWESOME IS THE ONLY WAY TO EXPLAIN!!!!

Telway is the classic Detroit Slider Diner. Onion smothered sliders, 50s decor, 50s prices. Love em or hate em, the sliders are center stage here, and for less than a few bucks you can have four of these bad boys in a brown bag ready to go. Old timers frequent this place throughout the daylight hours, sipping coffee and chatting it up. Collars of both blue and white swarm the carry out window during the lunch rush. With a well deserved reputation of serving the best sliders north of Detroit, Telway is a place to go if sliders are your thing. My only critique would be that the decor needs some updating, the look can stay, its timeless, but some fixing up wouldnt hurt.

I used to be the number 1 fan of this place having gone here for years, since I was a kid. No longer! About 5-6 years ago they took all the meat out of their burgers, so much so all you can taste is the bun with a little ketchup and onions thrown in. I call em doughburgers. So I switched to chilli fries. Fries with a tablespoonful of chilli are not chilli fries. The second time I complained but got little more chilli and ALOT more attitude! I have since stopped going there. This place is screwing over its loyal customers big time. I can not recamend this place.

This must be a taste you have to grow up with to love. After having a friend rave that he was jealous that Telway was in my neighborhood I stopped in for a couple of cheeseburgers. The waitress pulled 2 toasted buns, pulled the meat from some bin, slapped on a slice of american cheese and gave me the bag. The bag was greasy by the time I got home (5mins), the cheese still unmelted and the smell/flavor? Gross barely covers it. I love a good greasy burger. This is NOT one of those.

I live 121 miles away and I cant ever go to the Detroit area without stopping in. The food is excellent. The only place I can eat onion rings. Every time I go in the service is awesome. I tell everyone that if theyre in the area to stop in. Its a great family past time and something I look forward to when I head that way. Best sliders I have ever had, and the milkshakes are good. Plus the prices are really cheap!

Sliders! Nuff said! Grilled onions, beef patties, american cheese, what more does a hungry belly need? The best gut grenades in michigan, these beastly beauties are the preferred way to prepare a wicked dutch oven for the missus! Donuts, pie and shakes too. Ive been a faithful customer since 81 and will continue to visit until they throw dirt on my coffin.

Went to this place while staying with family in the area. I thought this would be an ok food joint with decent food. Boy was I wrong! The steamed burgers and Coneys were the best Ive ever tasted! Service was good as well. The only downside is that its cash only but the food definitely makes up for it. Wont forget to stop here the next time Im in the area.

Roommate hyped this place, and its right by my work so I gave it a shot. Waited 15 minutes before the angsty teenager behind the counter took my order, and another 15 for my food. Burgers were dripping grease, slathered with way too much ketchup and mustard. Fries were soggy. Roommate later clarified he had only been there while very drunk. Makes sense.

Great burgers! But the customer sitting at the counter bad mouthing African Americans and Mexicans and how we should all go back where we came from ( Loudly speaking with no shame who heard him) took the good burger taste out of my mouth, We been going to this place for years so if they allow that then they will allow anything...No thanks

The food is cheap but the quality was quite bad. My burgers and hot dog had soggy bread and little flavor. Onion rings were ok but overall it was a poor meal. The only redeeming quality of this resteraunt was the low price and speed of the order, but it certainly didnt save it. Guess I got what I payed for.

I got 2 cheeseburgers they tasted pretty good for the money. The staff was friendly. The countertops were pretty beat up considering you sit there to eat your food and lady didnt use an ice scooper to put ice in my cup she stuck her hand and cup in the bin. Other than that it was good

More expensive than the online menu it is a great place to get really really good burgers for a bargain price if you dont feel like going through the McDonalds or Burger King route. These all-natural daily delivered fresh beef instead of actual fillers.
