I was a loyal customer of Heritage Bakery, as I always try to support local, family-owned businesses. In the past few years I have ordered numerous large and expensive cakes from Heritage Bakery, for occasions such as 1st, 40th, and Sweet Sixteen birthday parties, baptisms, office parties and more. The employees have never been overly pleasant, but were never flat-out rude to me, either. Recently, I needed a small last-minute cake for an intimate birthday gathering. Knowing that Heritage has pre-made cakes available in their cooler; I called the bakery to inquire about the availability and variety of these pre-made cakes. Apparently, asking questions regarding flavor and size was very inconveniencing for the employees. First, while speaking to the male employee, his tone of voice indicated that I was annoying him by asking him to walk from behind the counter and look at the cakes available for purchase. He told me that there were two cakes available in the size for which I was looking. I inquired about the flavor of cake on one of the options, so he put me on hold, and came back with the answer. When I asked for the flavor of cake on the second option, he said in an annoyed tone, “let me check” and came back with the answer. I said I would like to order one of the cakes, so he transferred me to a woman to write down my order. During the 10 seconds it took to transfer me, I changed my mind about which cake I wanted. When I told the woman that I had changed my mind, she dramatically exclaimed to someone in the background, “now she’s changing her mind”! Then she yelled to someone in the background (assuming the same person), “never mind about her, just deliver the cake”! Next, she said to me in a rude tone, “Why don’t you just come in and look so you can pick one out yourself”. I said to her that if I wasn’t working, I would. She said, “Well, someone has to pick it up, they can pick one out”. Then she rudely said to me, “You’re just being so indecisive that you should just come in yourself”. I’m being so indecisive because I asked about the flavors of cake available for purchase, and changed my mind once prior to it being ordered? I told her, “I order so many cakes here; never mind”, and hung up. I called Sorella’s Bakery in Livonia and they were so friendly and pleasant. She asked how many people I wanted to feed, and took the phone to the cooler so she could tell me every variety she had available in the appropriate size. The cake was beautiful, and the taste was even more delicious than Heritage Bakery’s cakes. My family (who is used to Heritage Bakery cakes) raved about the flavor, and agreed that the cake was far superior to Heritage Bakery’s! Apparently Heritage Bakery believes that they are so successful, they can afford to treat their customers rudely. Well, sorry Heritage Bakery, but you’re just not good enough to be acting so snobby. If they keep treating their customers this way, they will not have any customers left. Especially when people discover that a bakery just down the road offers friendly and courteous customer service, along with a superior product. Plain and simple, if I am putting money in someone’s pocket, I expect to be treated with a little courtesy and respect. I will never purchase another item from Heritage Bakery. I am, however, very glad that I discovered Sorella’s Bakery. They will definitely have all of my business and referrals from now on.

I have been telling everyone how good this place is. They have very good cakes and donuts. They were also always very nice, friendly and helpful. I was going to start using them for any of the cakes we needed at work. However now I have to change my mind. Dont get me wrong they still have very good food but, I ordered a birthday cake for my grandsons first birthday. Picking it up at 11:00 am as his party started at 12:00 pm. I had his other grandparents pick the cake up and when they got there they were told that it is not ready and to come back at noon. Not only was this unacceptable but when they got back at noon the cake still wasnt ready. When I called the bakery on Monday (party was Sat) I ask for a manger or owner. I told the gentleman that I talked to what happened and that I found it very unacceptable. He agreed and said that he would find out what happened and get back with me. It is now 2 days later and they still have not called me. Big mistake on their part as now not only will I not use them I will make sure everyone knows what happened.

Horrible customer satisfaction. Ordered a cake last year and they knocked it out of the park! The design of it awesome. Told them the exact same thing this year as I did last year and gave them the same artistic expression. This year, the cake looked like 5 year had done it. I wish I could post pictures. Very disappointing. They even tried to sand by their work by saying "does the decorations make the cake taste different?" I was paying for consistency and the good creativity; not excuses as to why I should accept poor quality, pride, & workmanship.

AMAZING!!!! The best donuts ever! A staple in the community and a MUST for cakes!! Our family has been ordering here for over 10 years and it keeps getting better and better. The fact that its an old fashion bakery is part of its charm. Never ate a donut, Paczki, quiche or bread I didnt like. I order cookie trays during the holidays and Paczki before lent for my clients. My sister ordered her wedding cake from here and everyone was amazed!!!! Make this place a tradition for your family. You wont regret it!!

Over the course of the last six months, I have purchased four different cakes from this bakery and all of them have been excellent! They are not made up days in advance! They are made up to be fresh! This bakery will make your cake however you want it as far as size and if round frosting/filling in the middle, batter flavor, type of frosting on the outside, and decorations on the cake! Their experienced bakers will help you with creating that perfect cake for that perfect occasion!

Heritage Bakery went above and beyond for our reveal cake. This being our first baby – we did not know what to expect when having the cake made. The cake looked amazing and tasted even better!! The best part of the whole experience is that Heritage was able to make our cake in just one day and at a price better than a lot of other bakeries in the area. We highly recommend Heritage Bakery and will continue to be customers in the future!

PHENOMINAL FAMILY, PHENOMINAL STAFF, THE BEST BAKED GOODS AND CAKES IN TOWN!!!!. WHEN YOU GO IN MAKE SURE TO ASK FOR BILLY! HE IS INCREDIBLE AND CAN LEAD YOU IN THE DIRECTION OF THE PERFECT DESSERT OR CAKE FOR THAT SPECIAL OCCASSION! THE BEST PART IS THEY OPEN AT 5AM OR EVEN EARLIER, ALLOWING EVERYONE TO STOP BY FOR MORNING PASTRIES, DONUTS AND COFFEE! :) TERRIS K.
