If youre at all familiar with Lapeer you know dining options are scarce. We were celebrating my hubbys birthday and decided to try something new. There was no wait on a Sunday afternoon which made me nervous. The inside has a nice atmosphere though it is a little dark for my taste. The service was lackadaisical but not rude. The bathrooms were not clean. The menu is varied. Ive never seen a steakhouse that also serves pizzas. We started with spinach artichoke dip. It was delicious. And the dip was served in a bread bowl which is brilliant. I got really excited about my meal while eating the appetizer. Unfortunately it went downhill from there. Our salads were average to subpar. Lifeless lettuce with some grape tomatoes, cucumber slices, onion, and pickled beets thrown on top. Even my blue cheese dressing lacked flavor. The breadsticks were simply that, sticks of bread. I got a sirloin steak (which I ordered medium rare) and smashed red potatoes. Both the steak and the potatoes were under seasoned and the steak was medium well (which I couldnt tell until I started eating since the lighting was dim) and dry. My hubby got a ribeye steak with mushrooms and onions (for $4 extra which I think is a bit much for onions and mushrooms) and a loaded baked potato. His steak needed seasoning as well. My daughter got chicken strips and French fries which were exactly what you would expect for a kids meal. We both ordered water and with tip (15%) our total came to about $65. Would I go again? Maybe. Our options here arent vast. But I would not order a steak again.

I took my significant other here tonight for her birthday. She got to pick wherever she wanted. We usually have a great experience here but tonight was not the same. Although our waitress was great we will not be returning anytime soon. They give a free dinner on your birthday however we were only given a lunch $4.50 discount. We were not told ahead of time that you must order 2 entrees to receive the free dinner. My significant other got the bacon wrapped filet, my son and I split a large pizza, my daughter got a burger that she added bacon and cheese to and we had several drinks. In total our dinner cost $82. My parents who ate with us but paid separately, so Im not sure how much their bill was, ordered the bacon wrapped filet and liver and onions, both entrees if you ask me. Our server was very sweet and apologetic that her manager would not give us the dinner discount because the other 2 entrees purchased by our group were not on our bill. I feel this is just cheap and ridiculous. She didnt come in by herself for a free meal, she came in with her family for a nice night. I guess the managers care more about money than actually taking care of their guests!

A real disappointment! My son and I ate here before taking in a movie at the Lapeer cinema. I have eaten here many times before and have to admit that they have been steadily going down hill, since its been awhile, I thought wed give them another chance. I still like the ambiance and they still have awesome bread so I can give them a couple of stars. I ordered the Cobb salad and although it looked decent, the chicken was sparse and seemed almost tasteless like they boiled it. I am almost glad there wasnt more since it was so bad. I guess I also prefer larger chunks of tomato and cucumber than the finely dice versions. I also did not enjoy blue cheese on the cobb salad. The worst cobb salad Ive ever had and I really couldnt finish it. My son ordered fish and chips and the portion size was small for the $13.99 price tag and was very soggy with grease. Hind sight being 20/20 we should have sent both items back and gone a little further to the Blind fish instead.

Was asked if we wanted bread sticks then never received them. Started with the appetizer chicken skewers. Was surprised when we only got one on a huge bed of rice. Still was amazing! So was the rice!! Sadly that was the best part of the meal. We ordered the fish and chips & a BBQ chicken sandwich. The menu said the fish was beer battered cod. It didnt taste like it. The BBQ chicken sandwich had no taste at all and it had BACON! How do u mess up bacon!? They forgot the fries and after asking for them was brought a tiny plate of them. The place kinda looks alittle dirty. Tables are very worn. Where we were sitting they had big piles of used dishes across from us by their computer. The only reason they get 2 stars is because it was a really yummy appetizer! It should just say chicken skewer and not skewers. Going back to blind fish!! Love them!!

Normally we have had good luck here. Tonight was a different story though. We came in with a party of 7. 4 adults, 3 kids. Mashed potatoes were still cold out of the fridge, steaks were a bit over cooked and my Jack Salmon was still RAW! They did make it right with the salmon and recooked it. The carrots and rice were returned with the recooked Salmon. So they were not to great at that point. Our waitress (Sophia) dealt with the situation very pleasantly and professional. Her service was great even though the cook messed up the dinner. The restaurant was dead, maybe 3 tables tops and the cook could not handle it. Hopefully they find the "Experienced Cook" that they have advertised on their marquee as looking for.

When they are busy they serve dried out bread sticks, watered down salads, and no portion control on items in entrees. The chicken pasta special had sun dried tomatoes in it that seemed as if they just grabbed a handful and threw them in, and the mushrooms in the dish needed some flavor. Instead of such a large menu why dont they just concentrate on making a few entrees exceptional. On the upside the pizza is good and atmosphere is great. Sorry, one more complaint. I dont mind spending $7 on a martini but dont expect me to pay that price when you serve it in one of those SMALL martini glasses. Should have been half the price.

Good food, EXCELLENT service! My wife and I have eaten at E G Nicks for 25 years. The menu has changed, food has always been good. Service always fine. However, tonight we had a waitress named Julian, who wed never seen before, and she was outstanding. If we were assured to get her level of service, we would eat there all the time. What a difference an outstanding waitress makes to a dinner out with my lovely wife. Kudos Jillian, you were terrific!

I was just visiting for the night so take this for what its worth. Easy walking distance from the Holiday Inn. Clean restaurant with great service and I can vouch for the fish and chips. Decent tap list for the beer drinkers (I had Bells Oberon). From a business travelers point of view it checked all the right boxes. Also seemed very family friendly, and many people were eating pizza.

This was a good restaurant, we would sometimes eat there two or three times a week. Now I avoid it, We would rather drive 20 minutes away to eat decent food. We tried it agin last week and I couldnt eatwhat they served the chicken was grizzly and pink in the middle, my sons fries were brown they were so overcooked. 10 times out of 10 since about May the food was horrible!
