BOYCOTTING...24th Street Tavern!!!!! I will NEVER eat at this place again. Not because of the food or the service, but because the owners are rude, controlling, arrogant jerks!!! They have the nerve to try and dictate who can park in front of their patio (its an open parking lot, and they do NOT own the parking spots) and the owner actually PHYSICALLY ASSAULTED (grabbed him by the throat) a customer who parked his F150 in front of the patio who refused to move it after the owner demanded he do so because it was "his" spot!! And there have been customers asked to leave because they "looked" like they didnt belong, according to the owner. The owner was quoted speaking to a gentleman with a Harley motorcycle jacket "The biker bar is across the street." and all the guy did was just walk through the door. Ive never seen such despicable behavior of anyone in the hospitality business. They also own The Old Detroit Burger Bar in Lake Orion. NEVER going to any of these places ever again!! There are plenty of other restaurants right there downtown that have better food, a better atmosphere, and DECENT owners. For the best burger, or delicious chicken wings, try The Tap. For a variety of options (not unhealthy, greasy bar food) try The Ox (nice atmosphere, too.). Casa Real has good Mexican food. And all of these places have prices comparable, or even better that 24th Street. How they stay in business is beyond me. But I will NEVER go there again!

The 24th Street Sports Tavern has the reputation in town as being the most popular place owned by the towns most hated man. My wife and I once saw the owner refuse two elderly men in biker jackets entrance into the bar because the owner said he didnt want any trouble and kicked these guys out. Mind you, these men were in their 60s. One of the men had a Vietnam Veteran patch on. One other time, we saw the owner sitting at the bar and looking at the receipts of people who had just left. He would comment on how much people spent and called them cheapskates. I mean, they even charge you for ice if you get it in a premium drink! I cant tell you how many times my wife and I were charged for something we didnt even order. If you come here, I HIGHLY recommend paying in cash and not using your credit card. ALWAYS CHECK YOUR BILL. This place is NOTORIOUS for overcharging people. During the summer, the owner sits out back on the patio with regular customers who kiss his ass. Weve observed them countless times commenting on people as they walked by. The owner always seems to be drunk and the place is overpriced. The "good" reviews you see on here are put there by the regulars that kiss his ass. Overall, this place has overpriced drinks, bar food that isnt anything special, and is owned by someone that has a reputation of being a jerk to his employees and customers.

My sister suggested we stop here and grab a bite to eat.... So I said sure.... I had no idea what a great time I would have just stopping somewhere for a quick dinner.... Our server Kayla S was awesome !!! She was attentive & funny ...... Our food was serve quickly ,but more importantly it was served the way I asked.. Yes I am a person that has to ask for extra dressing, a side of lemons or always something...so when my food comes exactly like I ask I cant help but say Thank you 24 Street for having a wait staff that is smart enough to write down what I have asked for ,but also remembers to bring everything I have asked for or to check my food before serving my food that I have asked to not having something on it..( example my salad served w/o tomatoes)...lol so again thank you Kayla S for making my experience wonderful..... I will be back again !!!

My wife and I were on our way to an adjacent restaurant when we noticed the owners of the Tavern attacking a customer, yes, physically attacking, over a parking spot. I saw one of the owners choking the guy. Needless to say, that very incident made me realize that I will NEVER to go to the 24th Street Tavern AGAIN. If you attack your own customers over a parking spot, what makes you think Im going go spend my money there? Is that a consumer experience I want? The food is whats typical of sports bars: wings, burgers, etc. -- Nothing special. And this place is notoriously overpriced. If you value your hard-earned dollar, dont spend it here; unless, of course, you want to be attacked for parking in a public parking spot. And to the owners of the Tavern: get your crap together and stop treating people like garbage

Never coming here again. Went here last night for my birthday, me and my friends wanted to sit at the bar but we couldnt because it was full so we sat at a table. We were just there for drinks and when our waitress found out we werent ordering food, she was very rude and had a horrible attitude. After we ordered drinks she said "dont you guys at least want spinach dip or something" so I said sure so she would stop being so rude about us not ordering food.. while were eating our spinach dip, our waitress came to our table and said there was room for us at the bar and picked up our food and moved us there. Oh and the drinks were horrible.. we left after we were done with our dip and drinks. 2 stars because the spinach dip was actually good.

The definition of edible is "fit to be eaten." 24th Street doesnt go by that definition. Their food is just ehhhhhhhh. Like wow I havent had a bad meal in a long time, I love eating out. I normally dont go to bars, but hey there wasnt a wait. From appetizers to entrees its just bad. I am sad to say that I dont recommend this place because the food is just bad... its embarrassing how bad it is. The after taste of each dish I tried was so much that I just wanted to leave. Skip this place and go across the street or down the road. I would rather go have a meal at casa real, which says a lot... (if you didnt get it, casa real sucks)

Burgers are good. Beer selection is decent. Good for sport events. Avoid nights when they have a band/DJ. the last thing this place needs is louder - and tables crammed together to make a dance area cuts into the drinking space. Servers tend to be friendly and attentive. I have warmed to this place after first two visits were almost the last two.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank Marie for her excellent service all summer long. We would come in after our golf league was done for dinner and drinks. Never a problem getting a seat because she always had tables reserved for us. Food is good and the service was excellent! Thanks again Marie.

Most consistent tavern around. Food is always good. Love the lunch soup and sandwich. We had Marie on our last three visits. She always gives the best service with a smile. Five stars says it all. Got to meet the Owner Victor. Now I get why this is great place to eat.
