Conveniently located in Fort Gratiot, this independently owned, family operated Italian restaurant gives a welcome break to dining at the ho-hum chain restaurants that have taken over the area. Not only does Great Lakes Italian provide a quaint, family dining atmosphere, the food they serve is delicious and fresh. The prices are very reasonable, the portions are large and the taste is outstanding. Great Lakes Italian offers a variety of traditional Italian dishes, specialty pizzas and has a full bar with an extensive wine selection. We went during the dinner service and we were seated immediately. Our service was prompt, polite and friendly, with Daniele guiding us through the menu and offering helpful suggestions based on our tastes. All in all, we had a terrific experience and look forward to dining at Great Lakes Italian again.

The place is awesome little hard to find but glad we did. Awesome promo 2 for 22 and they did not cut corners because of the price. Chicken was great. The service by Lindsay was 10 stars very real even met the owner very down to earth will be back. Only issue was the bread was a little rough but was the end of the night and they made me fresh bread and I did not even have to ask I told the server it was a little hard and bam I had new bread Im very picky and enjoyed 100%

Its a honest, family owned American-Italian place. Do not expect anything out of the ordinary: lots of tomato sauce pretty much on everything, but that shouldnt be a surprise. Minestrones good, pasta is not enough al dente for my taste, but overall its better than most chains. Desserts were spectacular: we tried both tiramisu and cannoli and they were the best we have had in a long time! Service was very good as well.

We had a memorial for my dad at Mt. Hope Cemetery and followed up with luncheon at Great Lake Italian Restaurant from start to finish it was wonderful. Alyson was very professional from working with me on the menu to scheduling a dinner the night prior for the family. We had a wonderful time and the food was loved by all.

The people here are very friendly, and although they get an A for effort, that is not authentic Italian food. Huge fan of Italian food, and I was so excited that we had a new Italian restaurant in town, what a huge disappointment. I miss the Italian Villa!

Excellent food! In desperate need of a manager sat and waited for drinks for 1/2 hour and had only 4 tables filled in the whole place! Very slow service pick up the pace or you will go extinct! That would be a shame! Like i said excellent food!

They accomodate our large party last minute. It was fantastic service, fantastic food at a family affordable price. Will go here next time instead of Olive garden or Pompeii. Thank you for an awesome dinner. We well be back.
