Gots to love Gondolier! My family has been going to Gondolier for about 10 years. Of late, I do agree with what the other reviewer said about the service--it can be hit or miss. They do have a few long-time servers who are awesome, others who are average, and some who should seriously rethink their job choice. However, the owner is super nice and will usually handle any problems you have if you let him know. And now, with that out of the way, lets get to the food... The breadsticks they bring you upon seating are warm, soft, and chewy, with some nice dipping sauce to compliment them--OR, to really go over the top, try them with a side of their tasty homemade ranch dressing. Weve had many of their dishes, which are consistently delicious (and I am not one to use that term lightly): fried mushrooms, baked tortellini, baked spaghetti, meatlball sub, Italian cheesesteak sub (better than some true Philly cheesesteaks Ive had!), chicken fajita sub, Greek salad, antipasto salad, grilled chicken caesar salad, grilled chicken, fettuccini alfredo, shrimp alfredo, and their pizza is my second favorite in the area (after #1 Tomato Head). They also have a dessert case with many tempting desserts, so leave some room to sample. These are not made in-house, but provided by a bakery theyve dealt with for a long time. The white chocolate raspberry cake, the baklava cheesecake, and the "sampler" cake (a little bit of everything) are favorites of ours. Ive had only two entrees there, ever, that I didnt like: the chicken marsala and the eggplant parm. I grew up with Italian cooking, so I am picky about Italian when I go out (for example, I DO NOT enjoy Olive Garden. YUCK.) Gondolier is delish enough in its own right, and is great for when I need my Italian fix, but dont want to make it myself.

The food is great, the prices are awesome, and the portion sizes are extremely generous. But the best part is that they have a very large menu that has something for everyone - and nearly everything weve tried is good. The desserts are big enough to share, too; we usually just end up taking a slice to go. My only two complaints are: some of the booths are a bit worn out and uncomfortable, and the service can be hit or miss... a few of the servers are great but more often than not you end up with someone whos inattentive and just doesnt "get" foodservice.

Im a little dissappointed in this gondolier. I usually go to the one near john sevier and chapman highway, and this one just didnt seem to meet my expectations of the other one. The staff were all very nice, especially our waitress. However, the pizza wasnt as delicious and the sauce that came with the breadsticks wasnt as good either. However, its still tastes better than your average carryout chain such as pizza hut or dominos.

This was by far the best experience at a restaurant Ive had in a long time. The food was hot, and very tasty. The waitress Mariah, went over and beyond. I always order the same thing, chicken picatta and I highly recommend it here. The portion was well worth it and the chicken lemongrass soup perfect. This location puts the Athens Gondolier to shame. Better food and better staff, they could teach them a thing or two.

The wait staff in here are all lovely but this restaurant needs a facelift badly. Come on owner, spend a little money and spruce this place up! Torn booth seats, ugly drop ceiling, worn out bathrooms with broken latches, dark, ugly artificial plants. Not cheerful at all. Im speaking of the Gondolier in Maryville.

Couldnt ask for a better meal. We had the chicken marsala, shrimp Alfredo, and kids beef ravioli. Had a small issue with getting cheese ravioli instead of beef, but they fixed it right away. Service was perfect. Ask for Ryan. Price was very reasonable. $35 for 3 people. Well definitely go back.

Red Sauce tastes more like Campbells Tomato soup than it does anything else.. Absolutely awful.. Have been to several authentic Italian restaurants and have several friends who come from Italian families. There is nothing Italian about Gondolier. Pizza Hutt is more Italian than this place.

Kind of a hole in the wall Italian eatery on the outskirts of Maryville. The atmosphere is quiet and pleasant. The servers were excellent and very attentive to our table. The food is good, but not spectacular. Serving sizes are plenty for the money. The cakes there are to die for.

There pasta sauces are horrible. Shrimp scampi is not suppose to be soup or have any sauce to it but butter or olive oil. There pizza is the only thing that is worth anything and the dessert. I have an Italian family and they would be horrified to even see there pasta

The marinara and tomato sauces taste to me like reconstituted soup. Not something that I consider acceptable for any restaurant much less an Italian. Also customers deserve better cutlery and silverware (something I never typically complain about). Very low quality.

I have been here 3 times. I got 3 different things to eat each time and each meal was worse than the last. I wasnt impressed at all. The service isnt good either. Each server was extremely unfriendly and acted like they didnt even want to be there. I wont be back.

Let me start by saying I dont have anything against this place. Gondolier has nothing that you cant get a better version of somewhere else. Its not horrible, but there is nothing that I would call good either...

The food is good. Its not the best. However, if you want a franchise experience its not bad. The place could use a refrib. The staff is very friendly. I prefer the Sevierville location. Better atmosphere.

Always good food and service is excellent. We love it. They have even begun to expand into other areas so we have been able to introduce our family and friends to Gondoliers pizza. Thanks, Gondoliers.

Very clean and friendly place. They had a few tvs set up so it could be a good place to go by yourself. The food was great but my only complaint was the bread sticks we completely hollow.

We love Gondoliers. It has such a variety menu. Most of the time I get Italian food but sometimes I change it up. But no matter what I get it is always delicious.

Salad was fresh and good. Pizza was yummy but was cold. Too bad, hard to recommend when food has obviously sitting for a time before being brought to table.

Got to go food and they gave me the wrong order. Then they go on to blame me and saying I told them a different order. TERRIBLE customer service!

Used to be a lot better. The food is still decent but the food has gone down hill. Wish it was more like the one in Lenoir City.
