I dont know how this place has so many good reviews. I tried them for the first time last night and will not return. I stopped in for carryout pizza by the slice for my boyfriend and me. First of all, the layout of the restaurant is dysfunctional. The kitchen/working area is so small, I dont know how the three employees were able to move around. And thats another thing. The floor behind the counter has plastic pallets on it and the employees were walking around on the pallets. It was one of the strangest things Ive ever seen in a pizza place. The cash register is on a small counter where other customers were just standing around waiting for their orders, so it was impossible to try to place my order and pay. After forcing my way to the register, I ordered two cheese and two pepperoni slices. The cashier could barely figure out how to price them. Cheese and pepperoni are the most basic thing you can order! There were two other customers waiting for their orders and the staff was clearly confused who was supposed to get what order. The employees were running around manically and acting like they could barely comprehend what was going on in the store with three customers! I also noticed there was no hand washing going on as food was being handled. No employee had a clear designated spot to work. They were all just doing whatever. Who manages like that? When I finally received my order they only gave me three slices. I repeated my order of two cheese and two pepperoni. A few minutes later I received my order in a small box and thought to myself "how in the world are there four slices of New York style pizza in here? Did the employee stack them on top of each other?" I was so annoyed I walked out to my car, opened the box, and guess what? Three slices of pizza stacked on top of each other. Unbelievable is all I could think. And who stacks pizza on top of each other? I walked back in and told them my order was still wrong. A different employee took a slice of cheese pizza, threw some pepperoni on top, and put it in the oven. This is weird, right? Then she pulled it out of the oven and told me to have a great night in an extremely phony voice. She didnt even apologize for the poor service. When I was a teenager, I worked at Cottage Inn, a restaurant with a very large menu and variety of items. I could run the register, take orders, and make all the food by myself on a busy night. It might be hard, but I could certainly handle it on my own. This place cant even get pizza by the slice right with two attempts and three employees working. I was extremely embarrassed for them and would hate to see what its like when theyre actually busy. The pizza was mediocre. Try at your own risk!

Well I called Bella Italia Pizza&Pasta on behalf of the student affairs office at UofM and I was told that I was speaking to the owner of the company. A young lady. So I was speaking with her about a project that we have going on and we wanted to feature and recommend the restaurant to all of our students, faculty and for our incoming guest at spring commencement. Well needless to say I am horrified to think that she was the owner, she was extremely rude to me, and then she slammed the phone and hung up on me, I can not believe this day and age that a business owner would treat someone like this. I hope people will take the time to read this. Then I called back and a gentlemen answered the phone and hung up on me as well.....

My family eats here at least twice a month, and were always more than satisfied with both the quality and the quantity. Weve ordered subs, pizza, pastas, salads, calzones, and never had something bad. Subs are nothing to write home about, calzones are pretty good, but pizzas, salads, and pastas are especially good. We particularly like the pizza Bella Italia, the pasta Bella Italia with gnocchi, and the whole wheat linguine with spaghetti and meatballs. Greek salad is a good way to start a meal here (as are the other salads) and garlic knots are incredible. The owners are always there, and are really friendly. Would absolutely recommend this restaurant for carry out or dine in.

Based on online reviews and its close proximity to my hotel, I ordered delivery during my stay in Ann Arbor. I ordered a half Greek salad and an Italian sausage pizza. The salad was pure perfection! I highly recommend it. The pizza was also very good (I enjoyed leftovers the next day, too). I took off one star because the delivery didnt include napkins or utensils. I mean, Im staying in a hotel--do you really expect me to have these things readily on hand? I had to go down to the front desk and request a plastic fork so I could eat my salad. You guys have great food, so please dont forget the little things that travelers in hotels need. :)

I ordered take-out. . . one pasta entree $12.50 and a separate full garden salad $7.25. The pasta entree was supposed to come with its own salad and a serving of garlic bread. When I got home and opened the bag, there was no "dinner salad" and no garlic bread. I ordered at 6:25 pm and I waited until 7:08 pm for the food. I noticed the meal sitting on the counter quite a long time before it was bagged. Sure enough, when I got home, the Pasta Bolognese was barely warm and had to be reheated! The staff was very polite and the man did say he was sorry that it took so long when he handed me the bag.

Your online pizza ordering system failed us tonight. We ordered, received a confirmation email, drove to pick up the pizza...yet you had no pizza for us. You didnt receive our online order apparently. Bummed my bf had to wait at your store while our order was started. I suggest you take the "order online" button off your website until you get this glitch fixed. We ordered online from Dominos recently and it worked perfectly. Hopefully the pizza is good when he gets home!

I was pleasantly surprised how good the food is here! It is a modest store front but dont let it fool you! The pizza is great, you can taste the freshness. Sooo much better than the big chain companies. The pasta was amazing! 12$ and you get a giant serving, enough for four bowls of pasta with garlic knots and a side salad. Highly recommend the napoletana linguine. Service was great too. They went out of their way to provide extra napkins and side of ranch.

I admit the pizza and pasta was great but it I found them extremely overpriced, especially the cannolis. Also the restaurant itself could use an upgrade or general freshen up. It is odd that after the negative review there was immediately a VERY positive one!? The good reviews sound like they are written by management. Particularly the previous one and the one comparing it to pizza from Italy!

The good taste good but.... Didnt see any handwashing going on when I went in there Sunday afternoon. The only person I saw working bare handed my pizza and garlic roll into the oven. He then took my cash for my food and then used a wooden utensil to scoop out my pizza balanced by his bare fingers into a box. No gloves or handwashing took place. I wont be back.
