Naples Italian restaurant Naples its located at 5500 Kingston Pike and it has been a favorite of mine for quite some time, I worked there for about a year and a half but I was a customer before being an employee. It is a family owned restaurant and has been around for quite a while now, about thirty years, the place has a comfortable and feeling at home atmosphere, and a rustic, dim sort of romantic setting. If you like big open spaces then Naples is probably not for you, the main floor is a median size area with mostly booths and a few tables in the middle which sit four people. Also, in addition it has two private booths at each corner of the room, one called the red room and the other called the blue room because of their blue and red dim lights, these rooms are most of the time for couples proposing or a special occasion such as an anniversary. They also hold reunions, graduations, and events of that nature in the “back room” a space that sits about thirty-five people. When it comes to the food, in my opinion, is the best Italian cuisine in Knoxville chef Gary is recognized all around Tennessee, almost all of their dishes are made from scratch, and always with fresh and authentic ingredients. Prices are affordable ranging anywhere from 6.99 $ to 55.00 $, and it is all prepare with the same dedication, appetizers and desserts are very well prepare and served as well, with a world class wine list to go with it and if you love desserts then I have to recommend the wild strawberry raviolis with chocolate syrup, you won’t regret it. As you are walking up to the building you might get the feeling it’s just an old wearing down place, but the place is kept maintained regularly and it’s very clean. As I have mention before the atmosphere is a bit romantic, so if have someone you would like to take somewhere special or if a significant date is coming up this would be a great place to take them. Well I hope that this information will be useful to you in the future, and makes your decision a bit easier next time you Want to go out, thank you for your time.

Naples is one of those places Id driven by many times and thought "oh, I should try that sometime" without actually stopping in. Yesterday a friend and I decided on a whim to visit for lunch, and overall I was not disappointed. The decor is dated, and the lighting dim. The checkered tablecloths were made of heavy vinyl, and the dark-carpeted floor creaked and gave a bit as the servers passed. That being said, there were fresh flowers on every table, and as soon as we were seated water was provided. I had the eggplant parmigiano with a side salad and a sweet tea. The salad, while small, was fresh. The fat-free Italian dressing was a little bold for my taste, but otherwise it was alright. The sweet tea was not overpoweringly sweet, which was a plus, but the glasses are quite small and necessitate frequent refills by the servers. Our server was friendly, though, and never seemed put out by the running. The eggplant was nice and crisp on the outer edges, but the center was soft and (predictably) mushy. The spaghetti was just this side of al dente, but it was quite oversauced and I ended up leaving a small pile of the (admittedly tasty) stuff after I was finished with my pasta. My friend had the classic lasagna, and I got to sneak a bit. :P The beef was incredibly well-seasoned, some of the best Ive had. The ricotta was wonderful, too, but the pasta was gummy and thoroughly overcooked. The lasagna, as with the spaghetti, had the sauce piled high. Though it didnt seem like we waited long, our server offered us a slice of cheesecake for our wait. We declined, as the food was quite filling. I would heartily recommend visiting Naples for lunch, or just after the lunch hour. I may well return soon for dinner.

Our first visit many years ago was wonderful. Weve been irregular yet regular (10+ visits a year) customers since our first visit. Unfortunately, I cant say that now. Weve been there several times this year and were underwhelmed by the food, not to mention the out dated decor, poorly lit rooms, cheap table settings, etc... Im not saying this lightly. It is with much regret that I give this review as we once loved the restaurant. Our food was over sauced, the sauce seeming to have cooked for a long time... mine was vinegar-y, a reduction using wine that seemed to have overcooked, or - been made and reheated for some time. My husbands food (pasta) was rather dry, and mealy. The service was not the best. Though they were not busy the last time that we were there we were not shown the quality of service that they once were so popular for having. The decor was dusty, severely outdated, and the flooring... well.... I hate to say it, but - our last trip there was two trips in one as a friend sometimes says when theyre dissatisfied with something/place. Our last trip there, and our last trip there - ever. (unless there is a write up telling of great improvements) It is our sincere hope that they will take any and all reviews and use them to improve themselves in the needed areas so that they can stay open - and hopefully once more shine as they did years ago. In this day and age - there are many options for dining. Its a competitive world in Knoxville these days. Blessings.

Naples was the worst dining experience that weve had in 20 years. Our most recent (and last) visit consisted of the following: 20 minutes to speak with our server after being seated, 15 more minutes just to get water, an additional 15 minutes to have our orders taken, what was supposed to be caesar salad only consisted of plain oil and parmesan cheese, mussels app took an additional 18 minutes, and our entrees were ridiculously over salted. IT WAS THE WORST DINING EXPERIENCE IVE EVER HAD. Ive been going to Naples for decades and I will never go back after what Ive seen and experienced there most recently. The food and service is getting progressively worse over the past year. Its sad, since I have so many family and holiday memories there, but it seems that their business model has changed from great quality old Italian food and service to high volume service of low quality food. They would probably do better if they simply made the restaurant a buffet restaurant, since the food at least would be more consistent and, hopefully, less salty. If you wish to enjoy your dining experience, you would be wise to attempt to find a different place.

Arrived at Naples with a party of 7 at 4:45. First ones to enter for the evening. Hostess seemed bothered by a party of 7 without a reservation! Seated promptly.....then ignored for 15 minutes.....Finally service....Ordered our food quickly as we had reviewed the menu online......waited.....waited.....waited....FIVE...yes FIVE tables were seated long after we were.....ALL FIVE tables ordered...ate...and left and still we waited!!!!!!!!!!! Called the "manager over" and asked what was the problem.....She said "we are short staffed and had not expected this crowd" OMG 60 plus years at this location and shocked that there were guest!!!! NOW I SEE WHY THEY WERE SHOCKED that they had guest on a Saturday evening! FINALLY food arrived 55 MINUTES after we ordered. Food was luke warm at best and very disappointed with the entire experience. NONE of our party will be back EVER! Have contacted the friend who sent us there to let them know.....NO THANK YOU
