I used to live in Royal Oak, and couldnt make it down to Ferndale without starting or ending my night at this place. The tap list, never disappoints. kuhnhenns, Perrin, Shorts, Founders on rotation, always a great selection. The staff is always very friendly, and the bar tenders pour generously. On nights with live music, the shows are great, but can be a little loud if you just want to have a conversation though.

We had a show booked with this venue over a month ago and when the time came to play the show, we were told the owner over booked the night. On top of that, he did not pay us or any of the other bands. Bartenders were nice and accommodating but the sound guy tried to fight the promoter and our drummer. This will be the last time we ever play here or bring a group of people. If you are a band do not book here.

The New Way is really starting to look great on the inside. The new owner has really given it a rock and roll feel. Reasonable drinks, eclectic bands, and even a comedy night on Mondays round out its entertainment offerings. They even have a variety of bar and carnival games in the back!!!!

Its seems like this is a hole in the wall type of bar... seen alot of old-timers here.. i actually like the place and it would be even better if they did some drink specials other then beer. the atmosphere is great they welcome all types of crowds there.. ill keep going back :)

A fabulous neighborhood bar and music venue! The New Way is a favorite friendly local hangout. The owner and staff are great, and really support local and touring bands. Be sure to check their schedule and go see a live show! Added bonus, they have Skee-ball!

Great dive bar. Has cheap beers when you want them, free popcorn all the time, and some good shows from time to time. They also have a few arcade/carnival games that are far from the usual. Definitely worth checking out

Quite literally the shortest pour Ive ever seen for a Jameson on the rocks. Id call it between a half and two thirds of a shot total. Has a ping pong table, which is nice. Also a few arcade games and a pool table.

Our favorite every other Sunday need a drink before Monday hits place. The staff is always great, super nice. I hate when we come in and the seats are gone at the bar. I mean, dont they know those are mine?

They have a cover on the weekend which blows since the bands can suck sometimes. But I like to go early and play trivia with friends since its free. Drinks are tasty and the bartenders are nice.

Staff is lousy, drinks are not cheap or strong. My band played here and we kept getting locked out by the staff as we were trying to load/unload gear. Very little parking. Sound was terrible.
