Just called to place a carry out order. I heard "Beale St...umm...this is uhh Nick, can you hold please? I oblige. Literally 5 minutes later Im still on the line, and by "on hold" I mean he has obviously set the phone down and walked away because I can hear everything in the background. Oh well, just hang up and call back, right? Wrong. I call back multiple times over the course of 15 minutes and the line is busy. Awesome. My wife went over there to place the order in person (when she should have already been picking it up) expecting it to be busy, explaining the long hold and busy signal. Nope. Dead as a door nail. Phone guy was goofing off with someone else and manager was sitting in a booth chatting and seemed unconcerned when my wife expressed our frustration. Not exactly what Id call stellar service. Food was good but portions seemed small for the price and someone (probably the same genius that answered the phone) put our 2 sides of fries into one container...not sure why. ****update**** My wife must have worked some magic because she came home with a $10 credit for our next visit. Hopefully if I do visit again I will be able to get through to them on the phone first. :/.

Been here probably 15 or 20 times and NEVER had a bad meal or bad service. Beale St. specializes in southern barbecue and they deliver! Their entrees are typical barbecue fare, sides too. Every entree comes with the best cornbread and butter. They serve their meats nekkid without sauce and that takes guys. My wifes pulled pork had tons of bark. They have 4 sauces. Try the House sauce and youll have visions of Memphis. Smoky, a little coriander, GREAT! My wife loves the sweet... I was extra hungry so I got the jumbo pulled pork sandwich and an order of wings. IMHO - their wings are the best in the business. Try the bourbon glazed and you wouldnt be disappointed. They smoke their wings - so they arent fried. Way better than BDubs. On weekends, they have music. Check the billing for Sweet Willie T. Hes great. Enjoy!

My husband and I were looking for a new place to eat...We found Beale Street on the web. We stopped in, we were seated right away and told our server would be right with us. After sitting there for AT LEAST 10 min. with NO-ONE even saying "Ill be right with you" and Several servers standing by the bar, One that walked past us to wait on the table behind us at least 6 times and the owner sitting at the table right next to us EATING and No one ever waited on us! We got up and left...not before my husband let the server at the bar know that their service SUCKS!!! When you walk into a sit down restaurant you shouldnt have to ask for service! There were empty tables so I would say they werent that busy. We went across the road to "The Barn" and had a GREAT dinner and our server was awesome!

Having been born and raised in the Memphis area, I know BBQ. The ribs are very good, the pulled pork sandwiches are very good. But the catfish is downright awful. Maybe I just got a bad fish, but it had a very strong fishy taste, it was a fairly thin strip and was overcooked. My hopes were that it would be similar to the fine catfish at the Blues City Cafe on Beale. No where close. Not even sure this was a catfish. The things they call frips (fried potato chips) were incredibly hard. Tooth breaking hard. The mashed redskins are absolutely fantastic, and my hubby says the potato salad is equally great. Good selection of brews as well. Just stick with the BBQ and you cant go wrong. Glad they are in the area. Much easier than driving South to satisfy the BBQ cravings!

Phenomenal BBQ every time. You usually cant say a restaurant is good 100% of the time but this place is. We went for my moms birthday last night and they gave us a HUGE Death by Chocolate dessert for free. It was all chocolate and all amazing. The service is on point, friendly, fast. It can be kinda loud which is nice when youve got kids in your group. There is live music occasionally. When its there, though, its loud. So dont plan on having a full blown conversation during that time. Multiple BBQ sauces on the table. Great southern side dishes. Sweet potato fries, mmm! And the best BBQ in Michigan if youre asking me.

We went here because we drive by frequently and finally decided to go after reading a few good reviews. Honestly the food was just OK, the brisket was pretty dry and so were the ribs. The pulled pork didnt have much flavor, had to drown it in BBQ sauce. There were three of us eating and our overall experience with the food was just OK. The staff was friendly and the atmosphere was nice but the food was not quite worth it. Also the waitress told us they were getting rid of two of their three BBQ sauces including the only one the three of us enjoyed. Sorry but we wont be back now because of that.

We pass this place whenever we drive to my in-laws, and we always laughed about it. It seemed to us a restaurant attached to a gas station could never be good. But my in-laws decided to give it a go, and Im so glad they did. We decided to stop there tonight on the way home from vacation. It was delicious! Its so hard to find good barbecue in Michigan, but this place blew me away. SO much better than The Woodshop in Clarkston! The collard greens were amazing, the pulled pork, the cornbread! Lesson learned, never judge a book by its cover.

Food was just OK. Prices high for small portions. Paid $47 for a "family meal" with 4 small drinks and a tiny side of mac and cheese (because they would not substitute in meal for some reason). And then they acted like I was killing them because I asked for 4 plates to dine in. Dickies or Famous Daves is just as good and has better portions. left feeling like I spent $20 more than what I got. Just enough food for me, my wife, and a 3 and 4 year old that ate allmost nothing.

I LOVE this hidden treasure in our little town of Fenton! And my daughter is super-excited about the new extended site in Highland! Ive tried both dry and wet ribs and theyre all good - just depends on your personal taste. I love the smaller portion of cornbread and the sweet potato fries and deep-fried green beans are the BEST!! I bring new people in whenever I can!!! And did I mention the AWESOME blues music!!! Where else can we go and have it all??!!!!!

The food is great but I suggest you dine in and dont order take out. I ordered a Mac n cheese with burnt tips dinner with a sweet tea. Luckily I caught the mistake of receiving regular iced tea before I left, but unfortunately I drove the 20 minutes home and then found out that they forgot to put any macaroni and cheese whatsoever in the container. All that was in there was a bunch of cubed pieces of pork. Disappointed doesnt begin to describe how I felt.
