Ive been going to this place 2-3 times a week since I was 15 yrs old. I am 27 years old now. I got to be friends with Ho Yin the former owner. Even a transfer of people running the place, same great food and service, the guy running it now, always always remembers my order and exactly how I like it. Always brings out the extra stuff I want, I dont even ask anymore. Hes on it.....Never will your drink go below half empty... Ive introduced every single person I know to this place and easily more then half are as bad as me now. Always going to the place, and bring everyone they know. It really is good stuff. I go out to dinner almost every night of the week and i have yet to find a place I enjoy more then this, not only in my area but in all my travling around the country. I give this place hands down a 5 out of 5 stars and If my comments arent enough, I have TONS of friends and family who would agree. I am working right now with them to actually do my wedding here next year. Shut the place down for a day and bring it all to my reception, they are that good. the best hands down.

Hands down the best authentic Chinese food in the area. Ive been coming here with my family since 2006 and whether we all come and bring 20 of our closest family and friends or I come with a single person, the service and food quality never change, and always for a reasonable price! The building/decor itself could use some work, but whats so nice is they are always working to make improvements and progress is visible. Tommy and his family are absolutely incredible. Our pot of tea never goes empty, since Tommys wife is too good to let that happen. And Tommy himself is a master. He can make American Chinese food as good as any, but its the authentic dishes, particularly those not on the menu, that are the best. If you want to come for a special occasion and you want something particular, you can call ahead - we usually give at least a week - he will pick it up for you and make sure to have it (i.e. wide rice noodles, Lobster, etc). My friends are always impressed when I ask for the chefs recommendations, but I am nothing special, Tommy is.

I have been coming here since 2006. We always...always leave happy. Food is great and service is great. Although it looks small, we had 19 for a graduation party and 8 guys from church here too. Whenever family is in town we come here. Just tell Tommy you want a beef, chicken, seafood, and noodle and ask what he recommends. It is always good. Hard to find good hot and sour soup, but his is the best. Crab rangoon and egg rolls are good also. Dinner ends with fortune cookie and a hot donut-like dessert. There will always be leftovers to take home for your enjoyment the next day. Love this place. There are better restaurants in Chinatowns such as Chicago or SF, but for FH this is as good as it gets. When I go to Luigis, Cowleys or others, I slap my head and say I should have gone to Rainbow. You will too.

Being honest, I can not complain about the food, it is the best. The problem I have is that the prices are doubled for a small amount of food, and try leaving with a tip under 10 bucks, they will get mad at you!! We kept going there with my wife and 2 girls (under 12) and its always 100.00. I pay without saying anything because the food is so good, but he he feels the tip is inadequate he will tell you to tip more to HIS WIFE with an attitude... Not a waiter, or a different worker, his own wife. They overcharge and then get mad after you pay they act like they dont know you. Im curious if someone else has been through this.

While the dining area is pretty much what you expect from a strip mall location. Small, kitchen heat everywhere, and a brown blur of weird lighting. The fantastic thing is the quick, well made, and very large proportions you get for a reasonable price. I usually have the General Tso Chicken and I have a meal that could be a family entree under 10 dollars. Despite my complaints, the dining area is also very clean and often bused as well. The thing that makes me not give it a five star is the sides are pretty mediocre. The rice feels oddly a little dry with dumping sauce on it and the wonton has a sea water like feel.

This little gem of a restaurant tucked into a strip mall has our favorite chinese food around, and we have been around. Rather than sticking to our favorites, weve been through most of the menu, and found new favorites too! The staff are friendly and take care with their food, the place is very clean and rather new, and, well, weve turned it on to many friends and made it their favorite as well. Give it a shot, we hope you like it as much as we do! ps lol on a whim clicked on a bad review giver, like 30 reviews all negative but like 2. Some people just dont like food I guess lol.

Rainbow has ruined me for all other local Chinese restaurants. Their food is fabulous and the most authentic tasting Chinese I have ever had in Michigan. They use real ingredients you can only find in REAL Chinese food. Try the steak or gai kow - both are filled with great Chinese vegetables. We live over 25 minutes away and will drive past dozens of other Chinese restaurants just to go to Rainbow. Great food!

By far the best Chinese in the metro Detroit area! Ive never had a bad dish and the service is very quick and friendly. I moved far from this place and tried many in my area. Even after a year of not going there the staff remembered me and what I liked to order.. I drive 20 min out of my area when I want Chinese food because it is worth it.

Its perplexing how people gave this place a top rating. I can only come to the conclusion of such delusional ratings being made because people have not traveled more than a 20 mile radius from their homes. First and last time I will be here. It was the misleading ratings that initiated the stop to begin with.

Ive been going to Rainbow for less then a month and found out about it through Google, its hands down my new favorite Chinese restaurant. The food is awesome, quite possibly the best hot and sour soup this side of Michigan, the hostess/owners are nice and the price is fair. Highly recommended.

Wow! Im here on business and just wanted some generic chinese takeout and I got some of the best chinese I have ever had! The hot and sour soup is seriously amazing, and the General Tso chicken was perfect. Thank you, next time I am here, I will be back.
