Dont go to Kazoo or GR. We live in Marshall and this place makes us not want to run to Kzoo or GR any longer. This place is like Bistro Bella Vita in GR. Does it cost? Well it was 82 dollars before the tip and we had the following... 1. The portabella mushroom appetizer. Done to perfection with a sauce to die for and the presentation? Wow... just wow... 2. The scallop and shrimp with smoked chicken...the girlfriend told me I had to lean how to do this or die a very slow and painful death. I bought a smoker today...lol. 3. The Beef Papardelle. I made a spectacle out of myself and looked like cookie monster. They staff tried to give me a fork, and I just kept screaming COOKIE!...lol. 4. The Tiramisu, but after #3, they told me I had to take it to go...lol. We took desert home and OMG, trust me from start to finish this place is top notch. We have been looking for a good place to go to and yes, it isnt cheap but the ingredients, the staff, the atmosphere, everything is TOP NOTCH. I cant afford to eat here every night, and even if I could I would not, it is a treat. This is a jewel. Support this type of local business. It is sad to walk out and see the building across the street closed, but things move on but good food does not. This will be my go to place as long as they are there and people come in to the area. Schullers? HAHAHA, these guys rock compared to that place. If you watch the food network and want to turn into a food snob slowly, this isnt the place for you. One plate and your mouth will beg for more.

Im vegan and so is my friend for health reasons. We went here looking for some vegan lunch. We decided on the pasta but asked just to make sure. The server informed us that their pasta had egg in it, we were worried but decided to tempt fate anyways. We ordered and were sitting for about five minutes when the server came over and told us that the owner wanted to, personally, make us a custom vegan dish with pasta they had just gotten shipped in that day. IT WAS FANTASTIC! Ive started referring my friends here just because they were so nice and genuinely cared about their customers needs.

This place is the best. I travel a lot and always look for gems like this. The crab cakes were the best I have ever tasted. I have been to many places for crab cakes but this is number one. I had the flatbreed and fish special. The pineapple and hits of coconut were some of the best I ever tasted on a fish. My guest had the Caesar salad and after tasting the dressing I ordered one as well. The dressing is the best I have ever tasted on a salad. I bought 2 jugs of it to enjoy back home. If you read this review and dont give this place a try then you will revert it......

This place had a wonderful dining environment. The service was fantastic and the staff was very polite. The food came out looking absolutely beautiful. My only negative statement about this place is that I ordered the Alfredo and grilled salmon dish and what they brought me was not salmon. I didnt quite realize it for a little while but the more I ate it the more I realized that it was indeed tuna. Many restaurants will serve you tuna that looks an awful lot like salmon in order to save on money. Do not order the salmon!

If youre in western Michigan, you have to stop by Malia. Its not just a "good for MI" type restaurant - Malia is a solid spot that can compete in culinary big leagues of NY, LA, CHI, etc. You cant go wrong with ANY dish! Couple of notes: *I wouldnt consider Malia a mediterranean restaurant. In LA, wed just slap a "New American" catch-all haha *Theyre not closing!! Confirmed with a server that there is some retirement and moving to FL going on, but it will still stay in the family & the family is keeping it open.

WAY over rated not to mention over priced. Went there on weekday afternoon for lunch. We wanted to order from the lunch special board but were told we had missed that. We ended up ordering off the menu. We each ordered a noodle dish, which left a bad aftertaste. The bread tasted like some resemblance of a pumpkin flavor. We each ordered water. Our bill for this was around $50 not including a tip. Needless to say I have no appetite left for this place. I only gave it 2 states becsuse our server was really nice.

AN AMAZING FIND when traveling through the area. The WILD MUSHROOM entree with GLUTEN FREE pasta was SUPERB. The flavors of the sauce was exceptional. It was enough for two meals. They also served GRASS FED beef, WILD SALMON, and ORGANIC butter. Great chief and very attentive wait staff. LOVED THIS PLACE. Had dinner at 3pm with lunch prices until 4pm. Pricey but well worth it for QUALITY food.

I wish I could leave 10 stars! The food and service are always, always phenomenal. We ordered a catered lunch for 12 people today, and it was done beautifully. The food was out of this world. I definitely recommend this restaurant, whether its for dine-in or pick-up. Truly amazing. Special thanks to Chef Sampson.

One of the most expensive, but highly regarded restaurants in Battle Creek. Prices are high, but quality is best in the city. Classic touch on dishes, atmosphere and service. Pasta dishes and original dishes with seafood, quality steak and other meat dishes as well. Top choice in the city for me.

Absolutely fantastic. Had crab cakes,Alaskan halibut special, and cupcake with cinnamon frosting. Quite possibly the best food weve eaten in U.S., Europe, etc. Classy, wide range of prices, and well worth the cost. Great for date night, special celebrations, many children present, too, in fact.

In Battle Creek this is as good as it gets. Very good food, friendly staff, good location. I havent found too many places outside Kalamazoo that are worth a return visit, but I just had dinner at Malia for the 3rd time and I cant wait to go back.

Definitely the best restaurant in Battle Creek. Good service (very willing to separate checks for our 4 parties for instance) and quite yummy food and a good wine list. Everyone in our large party enjoyed their dinner choices.
