Went because we had seen it on Man vs Food and we were nearby at the Hands On museum with our 4 year old. We were looking forward to it. First of all, they dont offer cups with lids for kids. No biggie, we made it work... up until the our son spilled his water. Being a parent, I know things like that happen so I wasnt panicked. However I was a bit disappointed that niether of the two college students at the hostess stand, 5 feet away, even budged to grab us extra napkins or anything. My wife and I were soaked trying to contain the spill on our own until the waitress finally brought napkins. Then we ordered our food. First timers so we went with the Wet Burrito and Nachos. My burrito was okay, nothing special. My wifes nachos were pretty sad. Tasted like grocery store brand tortilla chips with a little bit of meat and cheese on it. Half the chips were untouched by topings of any kind. And I almost forgot my side items.. I ordered the bleu cheese coleslaw which came very dry with a hair in it.(The waitress was pleased to inform me that they would be happy to take it off the bill.. like I was gonna pay for it anyway.) And I had sourcream and guacamole that counted as a side so they could charge $2 for it. Sour cream was alright but the guacamole looked nothing like the picture I saw online and was mushy with a bad aftertaste. I never leave reviews unless something is unbelievably awesome. But this was so disappointing I had to share it. Im not saying they are bad people and maybe we just got real unlucky.. But we wont be back..

Bland, Overpriced, and Too Many Beans First of all, I love the peanut butter and oreo milkshake at Tios. But a Mexican restaurant should have more than just good milkshakes, right? Well, they dont. Everything my husband and I ordered was a disappointment. The starter nachos were a joke. I could have made better nachos at home for a quarter of the price. Tios nachos were basically burnt tortilla chips with melted run-of-the-mill shredded cheese and a small amount of chicken (or beef, but we chose chicken). The chicken, I have to say, was tasty. But the nachos overall were ridiculous. And then we received our main dishes. I ordered the combo with a burrito, an enchilada, and a taco with a side of Spanish rice and beans. My husband had a chimichanga with a side of Spanish rice and a side of sour cream and guacamole. The Spanish rice tasted fine and the beans and chicken enchilada were ok, but everything else was a complete letdown. My burrito and my husbands chimichanga were approximately 90% beans and 10% beef. There was no taste at all to either of them. We had to cover them with sour cream and guacamole to give them any taste beside the taste of beans. And then there was my taco. The taco was edible, but it was about 50% beans and 50% chicken (seriously, beans on a taco?). Plus, it reminded me of Taco Bell. In fact, Tios food made me want to go to Taco Bell because Taco Bell tastes better. Overall, Tios food is nothing special and definitely not worth the price they charge.

I got a coupon for this place, so i decided I would check it out with some of my friends. Honestly, I could go to the store and buy a box of ortega and it would be better then this garbage. Everything tasted microwaved, it was just straight up gross. I would honestly have to say that Taco Bell is better then this trash. It is a really nice place to eat, great environment and great wait staff, but they really need to fire their cooks, get rid of the bagged and pre-made everything and make some real mexican food. Overall, I would give this place a 1 out of 5. (Almost a zero, but the decor and wait staff gave it one point) If you are looking for good food, you are going to the wrong place, unless you are really drunk, which I think is the idea, because you would have to be pretty hammered to eat that crap. I feel bad with this review, but in all honesty, if you are reading this, it is time to fire you cooks, or should i say, microwave mechanics.

i admit i have strong opinions about mexican food, so dont think im pretending to be impartial... that said, this place is legitimately overcharging their customers in terms of quality per price commensurate with the style of cooking. this place obviously purchases precooked tortillas from what one would expect to be a large commercial grocery company. if not, then someone there either likes the taste of bad tortillas or an executive there isnt able to efficiently maintain the quality of his companys product. the same could be said for a number of their other ingredients but their prices are well over the $10/entree mark. i can and do enjoy mexican food made from cheap ingredients (taco bell can really hit the spot sometimes), but i wont spend more than the food is worth. so, to me, this means that the restaurant really isnt worth going to.

The people below me are so negative - Tios is excellent! Im a regular and eat here about two times a week! Its affordable for the big portions, has authentic recipes, and is very flavorful. The owner, Jeremy, is a great guy and always caters to my gluten allergy and listens to the suggestions that my roommates and I offer when we go in together. The food is delicious whether ordered in or ordered for delivery - I highly recommend the Tingas (a kind of taco they offer) as well as the extra hot salsa (which they won an award for). They also have a great happy hour and DELICIOUS alcoholic beverages such as an extensive margarita and mojito list. Ever since they made the move to Liberty, the food and menu has made some wonderful changes. Definitely a fun place for a quick bite or a casual date :)

I would give it negative stars if possible. I grew up with authentic Mexican food and this is by far no where near authentic. When you have refried beans that taste more bland than ground chick peas, its a HUGE red flag in my book. I have tried their chimichangas with chicken and the chicken was EXTREMELY dry. Their hot sauce is even bland, no flavor whatsoever. Im sorry, but if your one who finds this food even remotely tasty, I would get your taste buds checked because this food is disgusting. And you definitely pay for it in the bathroom later. Eating authentic homemade Mexican food nearly every day throughout my childhood I would have to say it does not leave you running for the bathroom 15-30 minutes after eating it. If your craving Mexican food, Taco Bell is much tastier and cheaper.

I live in San Diego now so my feelings about Mexican food has drastically changed. But, Ill tell you what for the area its not bad. Pricey and there is some stuff better than others but they have a bomb super hot sauce. Its special you have to ask for it and you know you got it when it blows your face off but has so much flavor you cant stop! You can buy this sauce so dont delay buy it now. We also go nuts for their corn bread! Its so amazing, rich and sweet we used to stop here just for this after dinner for dessert. Its thats good! Its been on Man Vs Food and I love to sit at the bar Cuz the service is great! Its a good representation of high end Mexican if you dont mind spending a couple more bucks. Sangria is pretty decent too!
