After having heard some positive comments from few of my friends we visited Godavari today on Monday(labor day weekend) in Woburn. We were a group of 14 so we had to wait for upto 45 minutes to get seated. By the time we went to have food, all most all the trays were empty in the non-veg area (around 1:30 pm). I had to wait for 10-15 minutes to get a naan, 30 minutes to get a kabab, 10 minutes to get chicken biryani tray filled up. No mutton items at all. No seefoood either. I had nan, butter chicken, kebab, gongura chicken (as per them) and biryani. It was a total disappointment once i tasted the dishes on my plate. I was not able to complete half of my plate after being a total food lover. There was no seasoning in kebabs, gongura chicken was full of masala flavor and bland, even chicken biryani was not upto the mark. I have given two stars only because my friends felt vegetarian was good. I will definitely not visit this restaurant if I want to eat non-veg dishes. I told the same thing to the Godavari restaurant management after our lunch buffet and he goes on saying that today things got mixed up and etc etc. If they (godavari management) call its a good restaurant it should be good on weekdays too not just on weekends.Even worse was the check after our lunch buffet. We got billed for 28 members when we were just 14 in the group. We later realized that and went back to get the refund. I would prefer Mirchi in Westborough which is far better with somany varieties and tastes soo good and never disappointed me till date. If I visit burlington area I prefer pongal which is much better than Godavari. Even minerva in Natick is better than Godavari when compared to taste and varieties. Total disappointment for non-veg lovers. Definitely NOT worth the hype.

We went for a buffet lunch today being sunday.afyer half an hour of waiting we got a table for five.staff was courteous.ambience was good.but did not like the way the spoon n fork held in hands and the way it was placed for us in a clumsy way Next we went to take food .two starters both tubs were empty .took rice n vegetables Dal etc .uttappam tub was again empty no naan. They were refilling chutney for what? No vada or uttappam.it did not come till we finished first helping.we took less waiting for starters n utappam.few pieces of naan n veg chilly came but no vada or utappam. Quite disappointing guthi vankaya had no vankaaya only the gravy was there. Plus points the kheer n gulanjamun were excellent. Taste of vegetables, pulao all were excellent. Large number of items in the menu.really cant do justice to all.sumptuous meal . If only little more care is taken you will rock.

The WORST experience ever.. wish I could give them negative stars it starts with a 1 hours wait... There is not one managing the crowd or making sure people waiting are taken care of... We are given a table after an hour and then no one even looks at us for about 15 20 mins.. Then we are told to order in one go.. (understandable as its late).. After that the food takes more than an hour.. people who ordered after us got served before us as they probably knew the owner.. We were told they are out of papads (appetizers) when they kept bringing them at other tables.. When you ask a server to check on your food, u get a blunt reply saying "will check" and they start playing with their phones.. .... The order was also messed up, but at the point we were so hungry that we just ate what we got and left.. The whole ordeal was 3+ hours..

I had heard good reviews about the food here, so thought will give it a try, even though its a bit far from me, but when I reached more than an hour before the usual closing (which I checked on the website before going), the gentleman at the desk told us theyre running out of food and refused to accommodate us. He was not particularly welcoming and was in a rush to somewhat boot us out, did not even offer any alternative. By then, all other restaurants also closed down so it became a bad evening for me. Their food is probably good, but I am not risking another hours drive to be disappointed again. Good food is one of things people go out to eat for (not the only one) Theres a difference between good business and good hospitality and I hope the management is able to appreciate that soon.

“Tons of variety with no compromise in taste” We were on d way to CT and NJ after whale watch at Gloucester and we were so craving for Indian food after having Italian- Mexican and all other cuisines. We were looking which is a nearby freeway, we found this and even we reached at 1:45, there was 25 minutes waiting, showing why this is so famous. There were lots of south Indian dishes, my friend tried bille bhat (sorry as north Indian I don’t know what it was) and rasam and she found it awesome, anyway I had chicken dishes (don’t rem the name as it was the south Indian name). and the taste was so amazing... And so was its biryani. Service was slow but you can ignore it if we see the crowd outside the restaurant. I had best Indian buffet in us till now apart from cinnamon, NJ

Been to this restaurant few times for both Buffet & Ala carte ,definitely does not lives up to the hype . Food : Most of the appetizers are either soggy or full of flour/dough. Biryanis are too dry and rest of the entrees are ok . Restaurant : Need serious upgrade as it cannot fit a descent amount of crowd. Terrible arrangement of tables during buffet , hardly any space between tables ,too much noise & chaos at weekends , no restaurant ambience whatsoever. Nomenclature : When you use the famous names of the telugu dishes , make sure the item must actually reflects the ingredients and taste of local flavor . Dont simply use the famous names without the authenticity . In my personal opinion, this an average indian restaurant and definitely not the best south indian.

Went here after a recommendation from a friend. We were not impressed. Our order was to be delivered at 6:15. At 6:30 I called asking how much longer it would be. He said it would arrive at 7:00. I asked why it took so late and was told it was because they open at 5:30. I said that in the future they should call customers when it would be so late. He didnt seem to understand why I would want to know my order would arrive. My daughters saag panner (mild) was probably a medium spicy and she could not eat it. Some of us ordered medium and could not eat our meal. We eat lots of spicy Indian food. The food was spicy, but did not seem to have much flavor. Also we asked for papadam and raita and did not receive it. I dont think they carry it. Sadly, we will not return.

I always craved for real South Indian food here in Boston area. I have been to every restaurant that you might have heard of in and around Boston (east-west, north-south). Well, yes, there are restaurants that serve dishes tasting close to the South Indian food. And, there are restaurants that specialize in one specific dish (Biriyani or curries or dosas, etc.). But, this is the first place here that serves authentic most of the South Indian dishes! I should say Godavari is doing a great job and I would suggest the folks to stick to their current menu and authenticity. I am one of those lazy guys who always look at Yelp for reviews, but have never written one. This is my first review. That might help you understand how much I liked the food here.
