Tried this restaurant while in town for World Sword Swallowers Day at Ripleys in Panama City Beach. Decided to be adventuresome and find an Indian restaurant. Even though this was Pakistani and across the bridge in Panama City, I decided to give it a try anyway. I was not disappointed! Initial impression was that the decor was a bit plain and lackluster - looked like it might have been an old western restaurant and was not decorated like some other Indian restaurants I had visited. But Mohammed our server was sweet and cordial, and the Pakistani / North Indian food was absolutely delicious! The Tandoori chicken was the BEST I have ever had with lots of flavor and cilantro, (and I am constantly sampling Tandoori chicken in India and all over the world!) The Bhindi okra was SO delicious, the Aloo Palak (potato and spinach) was incredible, the garlic naan was light, fresh hot and fluffy and delicious. Had mango lassi to drink and it was absolutely incredible! I would highly recommend all of these to anyone! My kudos to the chef! And they have a nice little international grocery store where you can buy your own ingredients. Have been enjoying the generous helpings for leftovers the past two days, and my mouth is still watering just thinking about it! Absolutely loved the food and will definitely be back again!

I have to say that i have never been so shocked by anyone in the service industry ever before. My wife and I went in there today, and while the food was pretty good, as was the service, the manager or owner or whoever he was appeared to be pure evil. He barely spoke a word to us, which really was fine, but when another family with two small children came in he pitched his fit. The wife asked the server if it would be at all possible to get a menu instead of doing the lunch buffet for her children. She just wanted to order them something simple because after all they are children and the buffet did not really accomodate them. The manager at this point stepped in and said that there was no way the kitchen could possibly make them something other than what was on the buffet and that if they wanted something else they could come back at 5. These customers were from out of town, they did not have this option. The manager was very rude and said oh well, come back at five and then proceeded to kick them out, much to the dismay of the server, and us, aka the only other table in the restaurant. What an idiot. If this is how someone wants to treat their customers then I do not want any part of it. I will never be back. And I suggest that no one else who desires to be respected ever go either.

I have to second what Ken said "I have to say that i have never been so shocked by anyone in the service industry ever before. My wife and I went in there today, and while the food was pretty good, as was the service, the manager or owner or whoever he was appeared to be pure evil." The manager paces back and forth and stares at you while you eat. The waitresses all seem to be so flustered by inadequate kitchen staff and poor management that they take it out on you. Dont expect to get out of Saffron in less than two hours. It took 15 minutes to get a waitress to take our drink order. It took another 15 to get the drinks! We ordered naan as an appetizer, and some chicken dishes. An hour later, we still had no naan. My fiances sugar was so low that I asked the manager if we could just get the naan. He ignored me. Finally, I convinced the waitress to bring us our bread. It would be another 30-40 minutes before our food came out. So terrible. And now, it looks like they have also started selling cars. The sure sign of a quality restaurant: discount used cars...

Okay we went there a couple of years ago, but we never wrote a review. Our experience was horrible, the waitress was the rudest person we had ever met. We order Lassi (sweet yogurt drink) it was really lumpy (thick) and one of them didnt have any sugar at all. When we told her she went in the back and brought two sugar packs and threw it at us. Then when we ordered the food, she again practically threw it at us. She didnt bring the plates, we had to go and get it from the utensils area ourselves. She didnt come back to check on us, neither did she ever come to clean out the table. The food was okay overall, some of the chicken on the Kabob platter was undercooked though. When we were done, she came back and said she is bipolar and she is sorry. WTF? we all thought she wanted us to tip her that is why she was saying all that. Needless to say that we didnt tip her and made a complaint. The owner just said sorry, and that he doesnt have any other help. I have never been so disappointed in a restaurant.

Here is everything that is wrong with this place: - The food was bland, and lacked flavor. - Limited options, specially for vegetarians. - We were told that we could not order from the menu, but the table next to us was allowed to !!! -They only have bottled water which they excessively charge for. I wonder if they have access to clean water. - The server did not know the price of the buffet and was indifferent and unfriendly. The manager was rude as well (also creepy.) - Tables, plates and restrooms were all dirty. - I swear one of the staff was spying on us. - 10% gratuity for party of four or more ! - Again, the food doesnt taste good ! I am surprised that this restaurant has stayed open for all these years....oh wait, maybe I shouldnt even call it a restaurant. Afterall, it looks like an old remodeled house. If I could give it zero stars, I would. Go to the Taco Bell right next to it instead. Anything is better than this place.

I dont want to give even 1 star though but i dont see any other option to derate further..following is my brief review... 1. At first glance, the restaurant looked good from outside..after entering we lost that feeling. 2. There are no servers inside the restaurant i can barely see only one 70 year old gentleman who is doing all type of services (answering phones, booking order, serving order etc) 3. This person doesnt know how to recieve the people, how to describe about the items you want to order and a narrow minded person who actually give contradictory answers for your questions or clarifications 4. Finally when we asked for the water he has given the following asnwer "We actually dont serve the water and you have to buy it from my fridge which is expensive and we dont allow your own water too" Felt he is an idiotic moron who is a senseless ape in this more advanced country..i pity his business in future

Absolutely zero stars! Visited on 03/14/17. Worst restaurant that I have ever been till date. If you are going to this restaurant be ready to get your mind blown, the customers will not be given respect and will be treated like trash. The food tasted horrible. The panner butter masala that they have served tastes like a couple of days old. For the jeera rice they have added jeera on Biryani and brought that as jeera rice. Tandoori smelled really bad. They even charged us for WATER. Yes you have read that right there is a charge for water apparently. Overall the quality of the food is horrible . Our total bill was 72$ and they put 10$ as tip automatically without asking us and brought our bill as 82$. Not realizing this we added 10$ more as tip and payed our total bill as 92$. Absolutely an awful experience. I would never go to this restaurant when visiting Panama City again!
