This isnt Thai food. Ordered "Grah-Pow-Gai" (basil chicken stir fry). No kaprao in the dish. No Asian basil. No American basil. Just spicy chicken in a plate of grease with a fried egg on top. The color wasnt right. The taste, not even close. Wife ordered "Yum Talay". Spicy seafood salad. The dish was insanely salty. The noodles were correct but the flavor was completely wrong. They used dried chili instead of fresh. My wife is Thai and ordered it spicy. Nope. Someone commented that the staff was knowledgeable and courteous. I found that they were neither. Not a Thai person on the property. When we walked in the door the lady behind the counter just barked, "sit at a table." When I asked about the lack of ingredients I was told, "its hard to get Thai ingredients here. We do the best we can." Wrong. The internet is everywhere. My wife does a better job after a quick trip to Walmart. The owners should be embarrassed to call this a Thai restaurant. The only reason Im giving them 2 stars is because they arent serving Chinese food with Thai chili and calling it Thai. ไม่อร่อยเลยยยยยยย

First of all, I never write reviews. However, when I read the one blasting this place from the guy from Indy I felt compelled to write this. This place does have different noodles from most other Thai restaurants. They use a thinner noodle that in no way comes close to the noodles in Campbell’s soup. As previously stated in another review, the owner makes his spices from scratch. Anyone that knows peppers knows that they can range in spiciness. Depending on when they are picked to where they were grown can all play into the hotness of the pepper. So with that said, if you do not like a lot of spiciness in your food you should get a 1, 2-4 are for the people that like it spicy, and 5 should only be for people that like to hurt themselves. Just know that this place is a little different than you’re probably used too. That doesn’t make them bad! I love this place and eat there a couple times a month. Hope this helps :)

Terrible food and experience. My wife and I ordered the spring rolls and the black pepper beef, it was absolutely awful. It tasted the way dog food smells. The beef was not seasoned and the food tasted inedible. We ate one of the sautéed onions, a piece of the beef, and that was all we could stand to eat of it. When we explained our disappointment to the server and manager, and said we didnt want to pay for the entrees because we couldnt even eat them, rather than being understanding they threatened to call the cops on us. We will NEVER be back to this restaurant. Both being servers at a well known resturant we know the customer is always supposed to be right. That is not the case here at all. We were willing to pay for what we ate but felt it unfair to make us pay for what we could not eat. We do not and will never recommend this establishment to anyone!

I would eat here every day if I could. This guy who said "Not real thai food" has got to be confused. Maybe he pulled up the wrong restaurant? Not a Thai person on the premise? Really? Theres like only two people that are working there when I go and they are both thai! Rude staff? You mean the only waitress that works there who is extremely soft spoken? I have never had a bad experience and I have been there 30 times. If this guy got level three or above spice on his food and he wasnt downing water like crazy then his taste buds are probably gone any way. As far as Im concerned this is the best Thai restaurant in Kentuckiana. Ive been to all the Thai restaurants in Louisville and they do not hold a candle to this restaurants food. I have had all the dishes but may favorites are Chicken Pahd Thai, Tohm Khar Gai (with red curry), and Beef Satay.

Have eaten here five times now, and I have to say it is absolutely the BEST Thai Food I have had here! All the ingredients are FRESH, your dish is made at the time of order, so if there is anything you require to be left out or even added, Chef Ritz is happy to do it for you; AND, he explained to me that all dishes are 400 calories or less! I am on a clean eating regimen along with my workouts, and I could probably eat from the TanThai menu daily with great results! The first four visits to the restaurant, I took a different person each time, and they have all really enjoyed the food and service. Please go try it and you will understand what I mean!

I am from chicago and we have huge Thai community and restaurant here. I have been lived in Thailand for more than 3 years. I went down here for visiting relatives. And stopped by Tanthai. I had shrimp pad Thai and Tom yum to go. Pad Thai is very decent here. Cant compared with Pad thai in Thailand. But it tasted good. A little too much sauce tho. But I am happy with it. Tom yum is good too. I like it. Good cozy place to stop by. Server is very nice and soft voice. I read some rude comments here. I guess some people "think" they know better abt Thai foods than anyone in the world.

Not true Thai. Not even lime with important food that requires it or herbs. Maybe to people that dont know better they "like this place".... but if you are will travel you will know this is not authanetic nor is it any good. They give you very little food for the price, The same person to take shorter brings you food out and the same person you pay. One cook. Two employees in the whole place! Instead of being so cheap they need employees, you have people waiting far too long for such a little on her plate and such blan tasting food. Disgusting! I wont be back!

Food - Excellent overall and wonderful spices. Service - Great Service / Kind , Knowledgeable! Waitress Explained Menu and Ingredients made us feel at home. Plating - Beautiful Plating. Portion Size - Portions could be larger. Cleanliness - Very Very Clean. 5/5 Atmosphere - Quiet , Soothing Environment with Tai Decor. Prices - Most meals are in the $10 range but overall worth the price. Favorite Things - Definitely try the spring rolls with chili oil dipping sauce they come with.

I am from indy down here on work. I love thai and eat it 3-4x a week. I read the reviews before going here in effort of avoiding a bad dinner. Well I was mis-informed. I got the chicken pad thai level 2 hotness, and it is terrible. No flavor. It looks like the same noodles that's in campbells chicken noodle soup. And for only level2 out of 5 on hotness. Its really spicy. Don't go save your money. And don't believe a word of those other reviews

What I love about this restaurant is that you get a really invigorated, impactful flavor experience, but it doesnt leave you with taste-burn like cheap Asian-ish food does. The owner tells me they only use clean, additive free, high quality ingredients and I believe it. Yet it is quite affordable. When someone in the family is recovering from illness and has low appetite, we take out Thom-Yum. The owner is also lovely and friendly.
