The best wedding cake Ive ever had was for my own wedding, and Ive been to a lot of weddings. Best of all, many of my guests raved about it being the best cake THEYve ever had (and are still raving). My mother, who doesnt like cake and is extremely difficult to please, had two pieces. Dessert Works was great to work with, and the finished cake was gorgeous (I wish I could post a photo). They worked from a sample photo I provided, and even custom-mixed the frosting to a Pantone® color of my choice. I was curious about how moist the chiffon would be, having not had it before (to my knowledge). The samples knocked our socks off, and then the cake itself was just as moist and delicious; in fact, even after being frozen for over a month, pieces thawed at room temperature are still excellent. Dessert Works also gave us an adorable complimentary mini tiered cake that is a miniature of our wedding cake; its in a clear box in the freezer waiting for our 1-year anniversary. I am budget conscious, and I felt that the value of our cake was excellent, especially considering the taste/presentation/customization balance. We chose the marbled chiffon cake layered with creamy dark chocolate mousse. It is a classic, rather than gourmet flavor, and was therefore less expensive, but youd never know it. The slices were large, and we still had leftovers (which made lingering guests very happy the next day). Everything about our experience with Dessert Works surpassed our expectations. Our wedding day was really wonderful, and the cake was a highly successful and memorable part of it.

We ordered a ballerina theme 2 tier cake for a baby shower. Andrea was very pleasant from the start, she gave us ideas and options on ways we could save a little $ on the cake to meet our budget. We got a 2 tier cake, the bottom was vanilla cake with strawberry filled and the top was vanilla cake with buttercream frosting. They even offered to deliver the cake to the hall for a small fee. We got a lot of compliments on the cake. It was beautiful and it tasted delish! I will definitely recommend Dessert Works to all my friends and family. This is my new favorite bakery for ordering cakes and pastries. PS. Their peach cake is to die for!

I ordered a cake for my daughters graduation at the very last minute. The woman I spoke with was so accommodating and had some great suggestions for me, both with design and fillings. The cake was nothing less than spectacular. It was gorgeous to look at and tasted even better. I had three tiers and it was done in the school colors. The top tier was a chocolate ganache in the shape of a graduation hat with 2010 on the top. Every single person at the party commented on it. I think it was the best part of the party. Never again will I get my cake anywhere else.

I used their service for my wedding and everything went smoothly. But most importantly the cake was the Ive ever tasted considering Im not a cake person! They dont use fondant but white chocolate so my cake looked amazing AND tasted delicious. They were professional and very considerate in all forms of communications, i couldnt have asked for a better experience. The next time i visit MA, i will have to order a whole cake to myself.

We ordered a marble cake and the cake was just ok. I am not too sure what the hype is about this place. I liked the eclairs better which is not a big seller for them. I also bought a cupcake when I was there for my daughter and it was very dry. The frostings are very good but the cakes not that great.

Have lived in Needham for several years and would never buy a cake anywhere else. Every cake we have had (birthdays, graduations, etc.) has always been beautifully decorated and wonderfully delicious. And the staff has always been attentive and gracious. This business is a real gem.

The best chocolate birthday cake I have ever had. Frosting with intense flavor but so light on the tounge. Hard to explain. Just a bit costly.
