I just went there to have a cappuccino, "for here", an hour ago. I, too, was disappointed that it came in a paper cup . . . but they totally called my name as soon as the drink was ready. In fact, they called my name before they even got to the counter to set my drink down. Also, that was some phenomenal cappuccino! It was so good, that I went up to the Barista to tell her how good it was. Considering I was just in Italy, having the best cappuccinos a week ago . . . this one was actually really good! I dont understand the paper cup thing, though. Also, their peanut butter w/ banana sandwiches are great . . . but what is even better is the "seeded" bread they come on. "Seeded" is their way of saying "whole wheat", i think. The bread is borderline moist . . . I dont know how they do that, but it makes it so much better!

Im going to echo the guy who said its okay. Its just okay. Ive only been here twice, but both times I came away underwhelmed. The big windows make for good people-watching, but the lemon-ginger steamer lacked any real spice, same with the chai latte, especially for the price. If Im paying $4 for a chai, I want to taste more than two spices. Also, no gluten free options, if thats of any interest. This place just sort of is. In that it exists, but, like, only just barely. Later, someone asked what I did all morning and I had zero recollection of trying out a new cafe. If it disappeared I probably wouldnt even register its loss. But if youre strapped for time and dont want a chain, this place is, you know, okay. If theres a line, though, Id just head back out; youre not missing anything.

I love this bakery and they have recently made some nice improvements with the space. They also usually have changing local artwork up on the walls, which I really appreciate. Also, the egg sandwiches. This bakery has great food and its inexpensive. Salads, sandwiches, and great chai teas. The staff is friendly and the service is fast. The bagels and baked goods are really good and the salads are filling, too. They Its a great place to camp out and do work. They have outlets and wifi. Lots of people linger to get some work done or read. They take credit card via square!

Ive been to this bakery 4 times. Once, at about 9 AM, they didnt have any bread to make their clearly posted "toast plate". Another time, at 9:30 AM, they didnt have any orange juice (also a clearly posted menu item). A third time at 9:30 AM, they didnt have orange juice or "fresh fruit", another menu item. Not one of these times did the person taking my order seem apologetic or even embarrassed about being out of these extremely basic items. It seems that management and customer orientation is not their strong point. Their scones are good, though.

"Original" food, vibe dependent place. If you are looking for a quick lunch because you work nearby I would not suggest this place. Although the staff was friendly the prices were a bit high and the cooking too slow for what I got for lunch (which was unfortunately tasteless). I was also not impressed with their bakery items. This seems more like a place for spending the afternoon with a laptop and coffee, rather than lunch. While not awful the place is too categorically hipster-ish for my taste.

Mariposa has a nice atmosphere, but they dont know what theyre doing when it comes to making coffee. Ask for a coffee drink "for here" and it still comes in a paper cup. Leave your name when you place an order, but when the drinks are ready they dont call your name out, and instead let them sit on the counter getting cold. Their espresso is nice to look at, but invariably has loads of grit in the bottom. Youll get better coffee and service from any of the other coffeeshops in the neighborhood.

Get coffee, tea or their fresh orange juice at this place. Great! However, do not get sandwiches. Every time I asked for a sandwich, it either took them 10-15 mins to make it, or they mixed the whole grain bread with their super salty pretzel, ... Customer service could be better.

I am hesitant to review Mariposa, because I am afraid it will be discovered by the masses. I love coming here for a great cup of coffee and the best scones in town. Visit early in the morning, while they are fresh, and make sure to try the London Fog as well.

The pluses: better than what was there, had a good sandwich, like the decor. The negatives: slow, a little disorganized Nothing so phenomenal that I go out of my way to go there, but if youre nearby and looking for lunch or a bakery breakfast its good.

Had I only gone once, I probably would have given it 4 stars. However, I experienced some extremely slow service on subsequent trips--one time taking nearly 30 minutes for a take-out sandwich. The food has been very good though.

The service was horrible. I ordered a drink with soy milk but I was not given soy milk. When I told the guy this he said that he did not remember me ordering soy milk and would not make me a new one. He could care less.

Food was okay, but the service was fairly slow, even though the place wasnt very busy. I tried their mint tea and wasnt very impressed by the quality. Definitely went in with higher expectations than what was realized.

Always just slightly disappointing - the coffee is fine, foods fine, and the service is (well) fine. If you need somewhere to hangout for a little bit, yep you guessed it, its fine but I wouldnt make it a dissertation

The cookies are so bad so stale, tasted like too powdery and dry. The coffee is good? I think Duncan Donuts and Starbucks is better. I take one bite of cookie is all it takes to judge the flavor.

the place is dark and uninviting, and as you step up to the counter, you are greeted by 3 sad little baked good, lonely sitting on the shelf. that place needs a remodeling intervention.

Make a great iced late. And if you want they have some fresh baked/made offering for breakfast/lunch. A good vibe helps make this cafe a place to get some work or reading done.

The coffee was very good. The staff was ok. And the cookies were less than perfect and far from ok. The cookies were pretty bad and stale. I recommend to not get cookies.

Cute place in Central to grab coffee and maybe food and work on schoolwork or real work :) coffee service is usually okay but food can take longer than I would expect.

Friendly and fast service and very good quality food with lots of breakfast options. The Mexican Mocha is a must try. One day old pastries taste fresh and are on sale!

The oatmeal hit the spot but I had to send the fruit bowl back since it tasted like garlic! They took a l o n g time to fill the order when the place was not busy.

Bread slices a little too thick in my opinion, and sandwiches that sound great on paper but dont deliver much flavor after all. Maybe their pastries are better?
