The food was very fresh with generous portion sizes. Service was very good. Good bread basket. We were lucky to get a table by the window which was relatively quiet as the restaurant is very noisy. Unfortunately, the food was not that great - our first time there so not sure what the hullabaloo is all about: shrimp and pasta - lots of shrimp but way too much sauce which had little flavor - the result was gummy. "Mediterranean" Chicken with quinoa and veggies - the chef had made the unfortunate choice of replacing the quinoa (a seasonal change we were told) with sweet potato purée and no cooked grain. The chicken had spices but was undercooked - the result, not much flavor and gummy due to the sweet potato purée the chicken rested on. Finally, we ordered what was supposed to be a Caesar salad - lots of very fresh romaine, a few (optional) anchovies and bottled creamy italian dressing - not even bottled caesar dressing - Im on the warpath (in perspective) about this one - the chef talks about her Italian training - come on !! Creamy italian dressing - inexcusable. The other divergence from "Italian training" is that Italian cooking doesnt actually use big helpings of sauce. So - in sum - we wont be going back. Too bad really, as with a few minor changes, the meal could have been excellent. I wrote a letter to the chef to which she did not respond so Im "going public" with my comments.

My cousins had been raving about this place, so we decided to try Delfino. We had a reservation and yet we waited for 25 minutes before we could be seated. The appetizers were good, calamari and clams. Then when it was time for our entrees, I was informed that my dish was going to take longer because they had messed up the order. I said OK, what can you do, right?! So I waited for about 20 minutes, my dish arrives, I had ordered shrimp & scallop w/ linguine & pesto sauce. It tasted so awful I didnt even eat the pasta, I just ate the scallops & shrimp because I was hungry. This is possibly the worse dinner I have ever had. Dont waist your time driving to Roslindale, its not worth it.

I absolutely love this restaurant! The food is fantastic and the price is decent with the quality and quantity of food you get. The service is excellent. Ive never had a bad time. I recommend delfinos to everyone I know. I also cant get over their specials... Especially the salads! If you havent been, what are you waiting for!! You wont be disappointed! Michael is always very helpful and very personable. I love knowing that he will be there when I get there.

This is the best deal in Boston. The prices are a steal for the quality. Similar dishes downtown are double the price. I had the best scallops ever! Also very much appreciated an abundant appetizer of broccoli rabe in a delicious broth. Ive been to Delfinos about six times and had a 5-star experience on every occasion, including a large birthday party. I agree that waiting outside is boring, and the dining room is small -- I wish they would expand.

This place has a really nice elegant but laid back vibe. The food is always consistent and delicious. Its just what you want when it comes to awesome Italian food. I wish they did pick-up but thats a part of their vibe too. It makes it more special to go in and sit down for a meal. The wine pairings are also great. I would highly recommend people check this place out if they are coming through Rozzie Square.

Easily the best restaurant in the city. A great menu full of classics, all of which are excellent. Service is top notch, your water glass will never get less than half full. Reasonable prices, great wine list, theres nothing not to love. Just be sure to be there right at opening if you want a table. They dont take reservations.

The best Italian food on Boston. I have been to many restaurants in the North End but Delfino s blows them all away. I am usually there every Friday night and have always had a terrific experience. The staff and Michael the host are exceptional. Everyone must try the menu is big, portions are big, and taste is unbelievable.

What a cute place. Reminds me of eating in the North End but for half the price. The place is small and even on a Tuesday night we needed reservations. The food was plentiful, big plates with enough for left overs. The wine was delicious and we were filled with delicious, hearty, authentic Italian food when we left.

This is fine dining in Roslindale. The staff is very attentive and courteous. I had the linguine with calamari and mussels. My jaw dropped when they brought the plate with its Arrangement and abundance although the scampi sauce wasnt as flavorful as the dish was well presented. I look forward to returning.

This is a must try small and local Italian restaurant. They serve up delicious fresh dishes and large portions and the prices are very reasonable. The staff are very friendly and youll come back for more. They always have daily specials and the desserts especially the Tiramisu are incredible.

This is the best Italian restaurant I have ever been to. Service is always stellar and Michael is amazing - so competent and kind! Makes you feel special every time you are. The pesto is so delicious! We have been coming to Delfinos since it first opened. It always our first choice.

Delicious!! Make sure you get there right when they open, the place is always packed and its really small. They dont take reservations so you will have to wait. Its worth it though. Save room for dessert if possible, the bread pudding is out of this world.

The only hard part is getting a table -- they dont take reservations, and theres no room to wait. But once you are seated, the service is excellent, and you almost cant go wrong with anything you order. Excellent wines-by-the-glass as well.

The decor was nice and the service was good. The wine list had a good selection, and was reasonably priced. Sadly, the food was nothing special. Overall: we wont go back but we werent bitterly disappointed.

The fresh raviolis here are consistently awesome! They use orange tomates to make an amazing orange cream sauce. Highly recommended, and a great wine selection at good prices.

One of Bostons hidden gems, Delfino offers an excellent menu, front to back, top to bottom including an excellent wine selection.

Excellent food and service. This is a popular spot in the neighborhood so it can be difficult to get a seat but is worth the wait.
