Pescatore took over from Ball Square Seafood, a family-run fish market and takeout joint that had served the hood for many generations. Happily, Pescatore provides the perfect marriage of old-fashioned and newly updated dishes. Old-timers will find many of the classic fried seafood options as their predecessors had, plus generous portions and reasonable prices. Homemade pasta and a variety of vegetable side round out the seafood menu.

Try out Pescatores brunch! Why wait in line for Ball Square Cafe or Sound Bites (yawn) when this place is right down the street and has deliciously fresh and unique Italian brunch food? The service is great and the seating much more open and spacious than other brunch spots. Definitely recommend.

New to the neighborhood - I ordered the gnocchi with a side of meatballs and was extremely impressed. Amazing italian home cooked meals. I didnt wait long and everything was cooked perfectly.

People were not kidding about the fried clams...they were delicious! The haddock dishes and pasta dishes are good too, but the fish chowder was my favorite part of the meal!

Bland, over-priced Perhaps other dishes are better, but the garlic, olive oil seafood dishes were tasteless. Ambiance, so-so. Waste of money!
