So I took yesterday off and I played 18 at Granite Links. The course was in pristine condition, the greens were excellent and quite slick but held shots. Quite possibly the nicest conditions Ive played since Pine Needles in NC late last year. That said Im not sure how I feel about the place. Its got a lot of really short target-golf holes with the greens being tricky to make up for the lack distance. Lots of 5 wood tee shots and pitching wedges in. Heck, I teed off with a 6 iron at one hole and had a sandwedge in. Basically not my style. At least 4 greens were driveable if you wanted to take the risk with 2-3 of them in range with a well struck 3-wood. Quite a few tee shots are blind which is fine if youve played there a few times but I was paired with people who hadnt played there either so we did some guessing based on the cart GPS or drove up the cart path to take a peek. I dont see it being a place Id frequent like PineHills or Waverly Oaks, which are better overall courses, but Id probably give it another try and see how it goes. It gets windy there too because youre on the top of a hill, no trees around, spectacular views of water and Boston, 360 degree views from 1st tee. The bar is nice. Shot a 90. First 7 holes I did super then the bus crashed hard on 8 and 9. Regained traction on 10 and promptly crashed again on 12, 13, 14, 16, 17. Some of the crash was just bad shot making, some was no local knowledge but mostly poor putting. 3 putts up the butt because, well, I suck at putting. I think this place is the kind of course one could tear apart and shoot in the very low 80s or even high 70s if you play it smart and have some local knowledge or it will eat you for lunch and leave you wondering why you just paid $125.

Venue is attractive enough; food is good. None of that matters when service is lacking. I attended a wedding there and have never experienced a ruder staff in my life. From the bartenders to the waitstaff to the lady monitoring the restrooms - no one ever smiled. Everyone had a look on their face that said "I hate my job and I wish you people would go home." Drinks people had not finished were cleared from tables while their owners were on the dance floor. As soon as the lights went on the staff started stacking chairs. I would never book this venue for an event.

Probably the best "public" golf course close to Boston. 27 hole layout, Milton and Granite are more technical and challenging and Quincy has more of an open layout. Has a good practice facility, which is included with greenfee. Great views of the city and a nice bar with live music in the summer. Greenfee is a little steep and non members apparently can only tee off starting late morning/early afternoon. Worth checking it out for first time or playing once or twice a year.

from the tips no greens are driveable...not sure what that reviews all about. really good track that is a bit mickey mouse (target golf) but its def worth playing. go after 4pm as that when the price drops. mid summer you should still get 18 teeing off after 4. one of the best public courses around. practice facilities are also pretty good. good practice putting greens. range is off mats but that happens with a public. not worth 125 but def worth 80 and below.

The courses itself is very nice and enjoyable. Target golf is the name of the game on the Granite Course. The reason for 3 stars is that they still charged $150 ( Over priced to be honest) a round when the greens were just cored! Not worth it at all! My playing partner and I were not informed of the green conditions when booking. Pretty slack on their part and when asked why they charge this much they said they dont do discounts. I say no more.

It is ok at best. View is impaired by poorly kept property around the exterior near the outside patio at the tavern and if course the cell phone towers Food extremely ordinary. Just had a hockey puck for lunch was supposed to be a medium hamburger. It had a slice of tomato that was mostly green and had stem in it. I would usually throw that piece down the garbage disposal but I guess at granite links it is acceptable

Apparently the driving range closes at 1:30pm on Mondays although the hours are listed until 3pm. Just beware of showing up and not being allowed to play. Staff was knowledgeable of their closing times, as in 4 people walked passed us until we stopped one and said "hey how do we get golf balls" and he informed us they had closed a half hour ago. Great view!!

Played twice with my weekly WIGS group. Overpriced, not great conditions, & snooty staff -- Views not that great. Not worth the cost in terms of money, time, nor effort to get there. Senior discount is no bargain. Much better values in daily-fee courses & facilities west of Rt495. Cyprian Keyes, Red Tail, Shaker Hills, Highfields, etc..

Course is very well maintained and pace is good with nice GPS equipped carts. Crossing 9 bar and grill has a very nice view - food and service is good. Pro shop has very reasonable prices and staff is great. Highly recommend for people who are in Boston - easy 20 minute drive. Cant beat it in the area.

There is nothing that earns this the ability to charge 150 on a weekday. Great views and unique course, but its a target golf course with so many blind shots and fairway obstacles. We also had piles of sand in sand traps, just the little things that a 150 course should have taken care of.

Beautiful layout in the old granite quarry. Tricky hole layout. The caddies were very friendly and accommodating. I went there for a wedding and you can tell they really know what they are doing, able to accommodate multiple weddings at a time with a full attention to each.

Service was fine and the view is fantastic. Food was just ok, nothing fantastic there. I would recommend it because of the views. If you are looking for exceptional food, this is not the place. Our waitress was very nice. The place is very nice inside and out. I have

If you are looking for nice atmosphere with a skyline view of Boston and somewhat upscale food, then this place is for you. The food, while upscale can be quite average at times but it depends on what you get, but the ambiance and city skyline are wonderful!

Beautiful place with amazing views! Oh ya and a very nice golf course as well. One of the most well maintained golf courses out there. The staff does a great job keeping this course in amazing shape!

Sitting on the wall near the overlook and listening to the band play inside crossing nines while the sun dips low is a most perfect way to end my weekend. Simply incredible in all ways.

Unbelievable view of Boston and the surrounding area. Definitely advise playing a round of golf here. Prices are a bit steep, but nice course, great views and a cool outside bar.
