I really wanted to love this place. It was not meant to be. Previous group held our table hostage for 35 min past our reservation time. Mgmt apologized to us, but didnt do anything to accommodate us at another table or move them. Our waiter was very good. Prompt. Knowledgeable. Friendly. Even though he probably realized he was digging his way out of a hole.... We always tip well, but he didnt know that. Appreciate his efforts. Arancini was under seasoned. Sauce had no acid. Ended up being flabby. We had two orders (3 per order). For a four top, they brought out the orders at seperate times, which made it odd for the group. Simple stuff here.... Hake was good quality fish, but the sauce was herbal, in a bad way that completely overpowered the fish. I dont understand how this dish made it on the menu. Mussel pasta dish was very acidic. It popped but didnt have balance. Needs work but they have something here. Duck pasta was rich, but was under seasoned. Pasta did not taste like it was made fresh in house. Maybe it was.... But fooled me. Very well edited, affordable wine list. I screwed up the order.... Mgmt was affable about other options, but was my fault. Points there. Dessert options are limited but the pound cake was quite nice. Pretty cheap at 220 for four people including wine. I mean... Maybe theyre working the kinks out, but I wouldnt return.

Management of the restaurant is sorely lacking. Had a reservation and waited 15 minutes in the restaurant with no seating area. Lack of Air Conditioning made the wait very uncomfortable to boot. Its not well advertised, but the menu is designed such that you have to order many dishes at once to get a whole experience. Expect small portions of dishes. The upside is that the food was good. But the amount you pay and the amount of food they put on the plate is severely underwhelming. Ordered a 16$ dish of ricotta gnocchi and got about 7 pieces. Not worth it. Seriously, if youre in boston there are much better things you can get for half the price.

In our party of four, three of us had spent time in Italy and all three of us agreed this was on par, if not better in some cases, than our most memorable meals in Italy. The team at Mida cares about your experience from the moment you step inside with an attentive and knowledgeable front of house and a brilliant kitchen crew right behind them. My recommendations are the bass crudo, arancini, and the polenta side...but everything was delicious. Mida takes reservations but they always try and reserve a few tables for walk ins. Also, they have a traditional chefs table for two which sounds like the perfect date to me. Enjoy!

Must try! This is exactly the restaurant the South End needed. Fun and inventive drinks with an extensive wine list. The food is amazing - Maltagliati & Gnocchi are not to be missed. You can definitely tell the pasta is made fresh in house. The Duck Breast is some of the best Ive ever had. The chef came over and poured the sauce over the dish himself, which was a lovely touch! The service is great. Everyone is welcoming, warm, and enthusiastic. Cozy atmosphere and big bar space make this an easy spot for some snacks and drinks or a meal with friends. Definitely my new neighborhood gem!

Went to Mida for dinner with colleagues and had a truly exceptional experience. The service is first-class, the restaurant is beautiful, and the food and wine pairing option is perfect for variety. All of the food was unique, fresh, and explained to us in detail to the point where we were learning while enjoying our meals. Ive tried a lot of "Best Restaurants in Boston", and have to say the service here was the best Ive had anywhere in the year Ive lived in the South End. Thank you for a wonderful meal with incredible staff Mida, Ill definitely be coming back!

The atmosphere is quaint, hip & enjoyable...perfect fit in the neighborhood. Our server was extremely friendly & comfortably guided us through the menu, it felt more like we were visitors in her home than guests at her job. The drinks were on point, I had the Northampton cocktail... well, I had several. There wasnt anything we tried that wasnt delicious & tasted freshly made, I highly recommend the arancini... we ended up ordering more later on since they were so good. Im happy to have Mida in the South End & plan to return often.

Service was terrible. Two hours for a marginal meal. We were told at the beginning of the meal that things would "come as they were prepared", what we werent prepared for was that three dishes came out and then and hour went by. We finally received two warm pastas, 1 hour 15 minutes for pasta? Then finally charred greens, 1 hour and 30 minutes for charred greens and then duck. Two hours for a marginal meal, and this was on a rainy, cold, slow Tuesday night. My suggestion is to wait a few more months while they work out he kinks.

Food, atmosphere and drinks are all amazing. Ive been several times since the opening and had great experiences. The food is fresh and flavorful, perfect portion sizes as well. Both times we got several apps to share with the table, and then our own meals - which are enough to feel full, but not over-stuffed. Some menu favorites are the Arancini, Mida Pickles, Caponata Toast, Gnocchi, Duck Confit Orecchiette (FAV!). Definitely will be back for more, great place to go with friends, drinks after work, date night, etc.!

Amazing food at great prices. We sat at a romantic high top table that overlooked the kitchen. We could see the chefs basting sole for 10 minutes or meticulously placing gold leafs on grapefruit - amazing attention to detail and everything looked delicious. We went with the Della Casa option - chefs choice - and found it to be delicious. The chef is the owner who is fun and gifted. The staff follows right in those footsteps. Overall, a great date night.

Overall it was all right. The pacing was super slow to the point where I had to ask just for bread to hold us over and they forgot one of our "larger" dishes and had to be reminded. The crispy lamb rack and snow crab pasta were delicious-the hake was good. The steak was tiny with a lot of gristle - not impressive for being the most expensive thing on the menu.

Awesome! Awesome! Awesome! Had a killer meal here on a slow night this week. Room wasnt buzzing but our server was still attentive and fun. Everything we ate was tasty. The arancini, bacalao, and duck was probably my favorite. Would like to try more food next time. This is the place to go if you want to try to fun (inexpensive) Italian wines as well.

Food tasted great. However, very small portions (the steak was just 1 slice of a piece of steak), expensive $$$, and slow service. I was extremely hungry heading into Mida on a Tuesday night and left hungry. A disappointing experience. Hopefully things improve with time.

We had a wonderful time at MIDA yesterday night. The food was excellent, service was fun and accommodating, the decor is stylish and the whole atmosphere is pleasant. An up-scale experience but on a young and fresh tone and more of a European approach.

Awesome restaurant! The room has a cozy feel but is really energetic and fun. The food was great but you have to be open to some adventurous flavors and ingredients. Make sure you take their advice and share everything!
